Had past experience when my mother in law from paisley (madge) would give it to my wife and i for xmas dinner proudly stating it was from marks and spencer and indeed it was a good pie but that was over twenty years ago.Now it has a pastry bottom and sides not counting the top. That must save on the steak but keeps the weight the same. Beef content twenty four percent, water and fat content seventy six percent. Very stodgy pie, i left about twenty percent of fat in the tray. How can that be described as a quality steak pie i will never know. Will make my own for new year. In comparison to the big stores in the town.m&s steak pie had the least amount of meat in the pie and at £4 per pie i feel i was ripped off.

It's all on one level so not a huge store but a reasonable size nevertheless. There's the usual good quality range of clothes for all the family and there are some great gifts there too. I like the cosmetics and toiletries (non tested on animals), especially the new coconut range which is surprisingly inexpensive (£2 for a bottle of moisuriser for example) so I have been stocking up lately! There's a great food hall at the back of the store and they sell flowers and newspapers there too. You'll find a small cafe tucked away behind the tills (easy to miss it altogether if you don't know it's there) but I find it disappointing as with the cafes at other M&S stores. The coffees and teas are pleasant enough but the seating area is basic and crammed together and there's not enough choice in snacks or meals.

Four days on, Evri cannot locate the package. Today, I attempted to contact HoF customer service, which is an exercise in frustration. I requested a full refund but have only been refunded the delivery charges. Had I known that HoF uses Evri I would have never placed the order. I certainly would never order from HoF. I honestly can't say whose customer service is worse - HoF's or Evri's. They're both terrible. Unless you enjoy being gaslighted (by both HoF and Evri), I would highly discourage anyone from making an online purchase from HoF.

I have a wedding coming up in December so decided to do it again. They offer services for any type of outfit you need, like going on holiday, new work clothes and they also offer a wardrobe renewal if you fancy a change. I booked online which was quick and simple they ask you a few questions about what your looking for, what you like, colours and your sizes. I was given a 90 minute slot. I headed to the personal shopper area, based near the men's shoes department. I was met by my personal shopper, Jordan. He explained that the normal rooms they use were busy so I was brought to a make shift dressing room in Mr Fraser's old office, which was stunning, apparently not many people get to see in the office. It made the experience even more special. Jordan asked me a few questions and then he headed off to find me some outfits. I sat on the couch and looked at magazines and relaxed. Jordan then arrived with armfulls of dresses. I then began trying them on. There was no pressure to like them, but I tried them all on. Nothing in the first lot suited. So Jordan headed off again. The 2nd last dress I tried on was the one, loved it, and again like my first personal shopper experience it was a dress I would never have picked for myself. I would highly recommend giving this a go, I think you worry that you are going to feel pressured into buying something but it's all very chilled out and fun to get a little pampered.

What stands out about this particular store, however, is that even now I recognise the same old faces working in the enormous customer service desk from the days of returning unwanted Christmas gift after unwanted Christmas gift. With the city centre of Glasgow changing rapidly, it's reassuring to have a little bit of my childhood sitting there on Argyle Street, even if "check the nick of Paul's trainees!" echos through my head each time I'm in there.

There's no real layout, there's no joyous discovering of another section or a flight of stairs to another floor that's full of Dyson vacuums piled next to cheap cans of Irn Bru and maybe some solid silver picture frames... I can't help but compare this to the wonder of the Glasgow branch that I also reviewed, and sigh a little. While the cheap sweets, juices and biscuits are here, and some of the nice nicknacks and whatnots, it just doesn't have the same majestic soul that the Glasgow branch does... and it makes me a little bit sad and jealous. The store may not be as modern as some of the newer John Lewis stores, but it makes up for it by having a nice selection of items you'd expect to find in a John Lewis from clothing to fragrances and technology. There is also an Optician and a Cafe inside. The store was still tidy and presented well. The store stretches over five floors, including a basement. There are toilets on two floors which is handy and I often find these both quieter and cleaner than the ones actually inside the shopping centre. There weren't too many staff members around the floor, although due to the size, it would be difficult to have someone everywhere. The staff seemed friendly when I did find someone. I do think it's a waste for such a big department store in a big city to be closing at 6 pm, other than on Thursdays, when they close at 7 pm. It just seems way too early, although it is in line with some smaller stores nearby, there are shops open later so I can't see why John Lewis can't either. One of my favourite stores in the city, I do prefer this to other department stores nearby. John Lewis Customer telephone complaints gave the now typical runaround - long wait time etc - before trying to claim it had been delivered to a neighbour. No. Different package. In the last 12 years the store has been extended 3 times and even more recently has been re-furbished which means that although it's exterior looks like something from the 70's, the interior is modern, fresh and airy, just like every other modern M&S. I might be slightly biased as I worked in the store for 7 years, albeit several years ago, but I reckon the staff in the Hamilton store are among the most helpful and friendly staff employed by M&S and this is reflected in the neat and tidy, well stocked shelves/racks in the store. One of the best additions to the store in the last few years is the coffee shop - it's well worth a visit!

The branch of Marks and Spencer itself is probably what you would expect in a small town, recently modernised to the new M&S decor and display styles they squeeze quite a lot in, although don't expect the same range as you would find in a city centre or out-of-town style branch. They have smaller ranges of the usual clothing departments, a home accessories section and a cafe. The food-hall is good for this size of store; at the end of the day, post-work, the shelves are generally well stacked as the staff are busy beavering away to replenish the stock. This is the part of the shop that I visit most and do find it to be the busiest, at least in the evening when I think most of the customers are popping-in on their way home.

The location is quite handy as well, being right in the middle of Paisley.
