All I can say is WOW! It's amazing what you will find in this house converted into a decorating merry go round! You'll be amazed at all the different styles that are available here! First, you'll be greeted by all the crazy yard art. Hmmm....is art really the right word? Do you really need a giraffe? I'm shopping for Glenda's birthday. I picked several metal pieces that will hang on our wooden privacy fence. Several crosses for inside the house. And some wood pieces that are...decorative. I hope she likes my taste in home decor! Yup, I'm in trouble. The owners are super friendly and we talked for a while. We always stop to see if there's anything new when we're in Mineral Wells. Y'all come check this place out! read more

I've been back and forth to Possum Kingdom lake a plethora of times in my life, and for some reason, I only recently decided to stop at this awesome little shop. With all the product stuffed in here, I'm not sure how they keep track of it! This place is literally an old house that is completely filled from top to bottom, front yard and back, with fun and unique home and garden decor. They seriously have everything here and for great prices, too. Some of the more antique-y or large furniture pieces cost a bit more, of course, but you can get beautiful ceramic pots and decorations for way less than you'd pay at Home Depot. The style of decor is definitely southwestern and old western. Think either super bright colors or weathered wood and iron pieces. Lots of crosses and country-style stars. Windmills, benches, tables, headboards, stools/chairs, dressers, wood-covered coolers/ice-chests, barrels, chimineas, and giant wagon wheels are some of the bigger items you'll find. Then of course they've got millions of candles, pillows, trinkets, kitchenware, lamps, wall art, and rugs. I'm a bigger fan of the outdoor garden items than I am of the indoor decor, since I'm not exactly fond of country-style pieces. We have several large, richly-colored, ceramic pots (for only $25-$35 each) that I really love, and I also have a sweet little cat planter that my parents gifted to me. The staff here is ultra friendly and definitely talkative. Very small town charm and feel, as you can imagine. I hope to stop by again on my next trip out to the lake! read more

Family and seafood is the way to describe this restaurant. The food was tasty and the staff was accommodating.

Lot's of Mexican pottery and metalwork adorn this place. If you are looking for colorful, fun pieces to put around your house, garden or patio then this is a great spot to visit. Huge selection at reasonable prices, much less than you will find in the big box stores. They also have both indoor and outdoor wood furniture. The pieces are mostly western rustic in feel. We visit here once or twice a year just to browse and add colorful pieces to our patio garden collection. read more

Bargains for Better Homes is MUST stop for travelers and local. Unique, eclectic collection of Old West , Southwest and Mexican indoor and outdoor decor. Very friendly staff and unbelievable reasonable prices.. Some of the furniture groups are to die for if you like rustic..... read more

We stopped here after a camping trip at Mineral wells state park. I figured we drove all the way out there it would be worth finding something else to see. We pulled over when we saw all the eclectic items outside the store. Once pulling up we were immediately greeted by the owner who told us a little about it and encouraged us to look around. We browsed for a while at furniture (reasonably priced) and all sorts of southwest inspired decor. In the end I purchased a few metal stars for my 'rents patio and a custom "M" brander for my brother's birthday. Everything seemed fairly priced and if I am ever out this direction again I will defiantly stop by and see what new treasures I can find. read more

I bought a very large entertainment center yesterday at BARGAINS FOR BETTER HOMES. Then found out they sell it at a business in Weather ford for over $250 less! When I called to cancel my order (because they can't even get it till next week, because it's on back order!) I get told they won't give my money back! They haven't got the thing and can't get it till next week but I can't cancel my order because it's not their POLICY! You can bet I won't be spending ANYMORE money in their store! read more

This is, without a doubt, the absolute best shop for all your rustic and southwest decor. We live in Lubbock, and I never fail to drive over when we go down to our lakehouse. I never leave without finding some fantastic, unique items at unbelievably great prices! The owners are delightful and extremely welcoming and helpful, as well! I've collected quite a large cache of talevera from them as their selection is large and well priced! You can browse here for hours there's just so much to see! My very favorite store for all my patio needs!! The furniture, decor, pottery.....I could go on and on!!! Makes me realize a visit is definitely in order!! read more

We LOVE Bargains for Better Homes. We stumbled upon it after visiting Clark Gardens a couple of years ago. Talavera pottery is a passion of mine and they have an amazing array of pots and decorative items with those brilliant Mexican pottery colors. A couple of our most fantastic finds have been an enormous painted rooster (he resides atop my refrigerator) and some fun clay/concrete pumpkins. There's always something fun to discover at this eclectic store. It is definitely worth the trip to Mineral Wells. read more
