I am not on here to " rate" I don't feel they deserve to be rated. I had taken my dog in and when I went to pick her up , it was cut nothing like I had asked. I mentioned it as soon as I saw her but they didn't offer to do anything Next day or so I went back in and ask them to cut more off the top to which they kept questioning me and I raised her hair to show her where it needed to come off. She kept questioning me and then got upset because I didn't know what else to tell her.At one point she flipped my dog around so hard that it turned my dog completely around!! I was like DONT BE FLIPPING MY DOG AROUND and took my dog and left! She kept trying to blame me even as I was walking out the door and the person that seemed to be in charge never asked her to calm down! DONE! She abused my dog!! read more

If this is the first time your dog has ever been professionally groomed and you are looking for a trustworthy, professional grooming shop this is NOT the grooming shop for you. Especially if that dog is more than a few months old and is considered a large breed dog. I am getting ready to take graduation photos with my doggo this weekend & I brought my dog Gio here for his first professional grooming, willing to pay whatever was needed to pay in order for him to get groomed. I spent days looking for the perfect groom shop and decided to go with this one because of it's many good reviews. As soon as the owner heard that this was Gio's first time ever getting professionally groomed and that he was almost 3 years old, the owner was already giving iffy vibes. My gut told me that this was not going to end well because of how serious and doubtful the owner was but I blew it off and trusted that Gio would do great. Gio gets groomed at home at least once a month, he is an inside dog, he is not afraid to get wet, maybe a bit nervous but he never fights the grooming. We de-shed him at least once a week as well as air blow him with a very loud shock vacuum and he does great, the worst thing he does is try to eat the air, which in my opinion is pretty normal for a dog. Yes I could have groomed him myself but I truly wanted him to look his very best for the photo session. With this being said, yes this is Gio's first time getting professionally groomed but it is not his first time ever getting groomed. I live in Hereford Texas, about 55 minutes away from the grooming shop, the drop off for the morning was from 7:30-8 AM, I was on the road by 6:45 AM, drove the hour just for Gio to be inside the building for less than 10 minutes before they already had him by my car door saying that he was not cooperating. There are groomers in Hereford, there are also groomers in Canyon but I decided to go the extra mile to make sure Gio got the best services and it completely back fired. By 8:05 AM we were already on our way back home. Another 55 minute drive. In my opinion, this shop is only good at grooming dogs who have been groomed since the pup stages and are small and manageable. So like I said, if this is the first time your dog has ever been groomed professionally, this is NOT the shop for you. & if you got to the very end of this review I highly recommend trying Shaggy to Chic Dog Enhancement Center located on Western here in Amarillo, I contacted them and told me about my experience here at Bark Avenue and they were extremely helpful and confused as to why this shop owner would even agree to groom Gio if they weren't comfortable doing it. The worst part about this whole experience is that my graduation photos are this weekend and Bark Avenue completely wasted my time, I am in a position where there are no appointments available anywhere else until next week. So thank you so much Bark Avenue, for wasting my time. I would have appreciated it WAY more if you told me no when I called you last week. read more

Not happy with them at all, when scheduling my dogs I told them the main thing we needed was nail clippings. Just picked my dogs up and neither one received nail clippings. Apparently due to new policies from Covid, they can't allow two workers close to each other to clip nails. Was not told this when scheduling the appointment, or when they were dropped off, just when they were picked up and needed to be paid. We are very irritated that we wasted money on this when we could have cleaned them ourselves! After this experience, we will not be taking our dogs back there ever again. read more

The haircut looks like trash, she didn't wash her face, they didn't blow off of the extra hair, they did not cut her tail. I will definitely never come to this place again with my dog. Her ears look like they were just done by a 2 year old. She does not feel clean at all, and she still has eye boogers and stuff on her face witch proves they did not wash her. This is a terrible haircut for $67, I highly recommend you not to come here. I am very heated !! Y'all need to hire someone that knows how to cut hair !! ‍ read more

The first couple of times we took our dog to Bark Avenue we were very pleased. Unfortunately, that all changed the last time he went in. He had a late appointment at their request, but when we went in to pick him up at the time they told us, he wasn't ready yet. It was at the end of the day, and we could tell everyone was anxious to get out of there. Our dog looked a mess when we picked him up. His mouth and feet were still dirty, the hair around his eyes was not evenly trimmed, he had a weird beard thing around his neck, and his tail hadn't been touched. When we complained the following week, the response was that we weren't bringing him enough times to keep up with his coat. We never let his hair get long and matted. How does the number of times you bring a dog for grooming account for a poor haircut and not cleaning his face and feet? We won't be back. Very disappointed. read more

We have a maltipoo and her fur gets so matted. We took her to the groomer we have been taking her to for years and they called us and told us she was too squirmy and they couldn't finish grooming her so we picked her up with half a hair cut! She looked ridiculous! So not happy! After researching for a new groomer we saw awesome reviews for Bark Avenue so we called Bark Avenue and from the first phone call we were super impressed! We took her in yesterday and she looks great! So happy! We definitely found a new groomer and will be back! read more

My son took his beautiful furry cockapoo in to be trimmed and the groomer, Lindsay, shaved it. She said his fur was tangled under his arm so she didn't want to hurt him and thought it best to cut all off. No, she did not call and ask permission. He looked awful and had a bloody spot on his back leg. I talked to the manager and he apologized but didn't offer a refund. I would never use them again! Of course we won't have to worry about having the dog trimmed for a very long time as he is bald. read more

My schnauzer has been going to Bark Avenue for several years now. Clint is our favorite groomer. He is kind and loving to our Gracie. We get our grooming schedule a year in advance (which is easily changed to suit your schedule), and we get an email a couple of days before our appointment to remind us. Our dog always looks great after an appointment and is usually wearing an adorable bandanna. She usually smells of blueberries, as Clint gives her a blueberry facial. The place is always clean, and they even have an area to wash your own dog if they don't need the full salon treatment. Bark Avenue is the best place to groom your dog! read more

Not sure how they stay in business. They groomed my poodle three days ago and she is still miserable! They burned her horribly. When I called to talk to them about it, someone put the phone down and instead of getting any customer service, I had to listen to them arguing. When I heard a dog wailing and screaming, I couldn't stand it anymore and hung up the phone. We will NEVER subject our precious animals to these people again. read more
