In addition, Bailey had a massive skin infection, Giardia, impacted anal glands, both ears infected, and Mange to name just a few. We needed help urgently as this poor guy never even wore a collar. Once his neck was healed enough and we had our vet's approval, we needed to get him use to wearing one since we had no control using a harness. Bailey went nuts when he saw other dogs, children, iguanas, squirrels, and any leaf or piece of paper that moved. He also picked everything up, and had the puppy mouthing and nipping going on. Because of his medical conditions, no one would assist us. Melania was a godsend. Although her schedule was pretty full, she took us early in the morning. Her instructions and advice worked wonders. We can walk Bailey without having our arm pulled out of the socket. The day that he watched a squirrel a few feet away was a miracle. Melania not only taught Bailey how to behave, but alsotaught uswhat to do. I think we were as much the problem as was Bailey. We wish i could take Melania back to Chicago with us to continue Bailey's training. Although we'll continue training once we get home, I doubt we'll find someone as wonderful as she was. We definately will take Bailey for more lessons with Melania when we return to this area next winter. Thank you Melania for everything you did for us and for Bailey. We would be lost without you. I was also amused by her report card. Apparently she is a stellar pup! Overall, Olive seemed to grow more confident with her stay, no longer fearing other dogs. I would let her stay there again.

When looking for a place to board your dog on a Disney day, Best Friends Pet Hotels a convenient…read more option. I have now left my puppy there several times and most of the time she was quite complimentary. There are, however, pluses and minuses, and sadly the minus of my last visit may keep me from coming back. First the positive things. The place appears very clean and well kept. You can view the play areas as well as the area where they walk the pets. They appeared to do an excellent job although I did notice one time the person walking the dog at the time looked as if they would rather be anywhere else but there. When you walk in, there is a front desk, which is somewhat understaffed for the crowd that comes in it about the same time every morning. It varies on how much time you will spend waiting for intake. Every member of the staff has been extremely friendly and the experience at the front desk can only be described as warm and welcoming. My dog is sociable and loved meeting new friends in the lobby. There is an array of merchandise for purchase. Prices are slightly higher than you would pay at some other places. At the desk, you also have the opportunity to give any instructions and leave food, toys, or anything else you would like your dog to have. I must say they are also good at making sure that whatever you leave you also get back at the end of the day or whenever you pick your furry friend up. After check-in, they pleasantly take your dog and the people that do have the personalities that make the dog excited to go off with them. Pick up as much the same with variable lines and taking varying times. Sometimes they give a report card, sometimes they do not. The report card will let you know how your dog interacted with others during playtime. They will also give you details about eating and other things. Yes, I know I've made it sound perfect. Problem was that the last time I arrived purposely leaving time for my pet to eat before playtime with clear instructions on feeding and a package of food for her to eat. Based on my prior visits, I was confident that she would do well. I purposely did not arrive too close to playtime for them to have time to feed her before bringing her to play. When I picked her up, they gave me a report that she ate most of her food and had her usual fun time. It was bot until I arrived back at my hotel that I found that the food I had brought was uneaten and in fact unopened. And when I put food out, she was absolutely starving and ate every drop immediately. I called as they are still open late, but the phone rang and I allowed it to ring for over an hour with nobody picking up. Red Flag 1. I sent an email and got a response by phone the next day telling me that because it was a holiday (it was actually July 3) they were very busy in the morning so started bringing the dogs to play earlier and did not have time to feed her. Suddenly, the picture did not look as bright. Red flag number 2. As they told me that she had eaten, now everything they tell me or right on the report card becomes suspect. While they told me they would pay more attention to her next time, making excuses does not take away the doubts left behind by the discrepancy between what they told me and what actually happened that day. I paid good money, literally around $90 for her to be cared for and to play for one day. I was willing to pay the high prices with the expectation of high-quality. I did not get that. Offering to do the job right next time hardly makes up for doing it wrong that time. Which is why I think I will be looking for other options in the future.
