Everyone gets individual, specialized care as needed. The "School" horses are the most well cared for School horses I have ever encountered, they are far from over worked most don't work more than 1 lesson per day and they are definitely not your typical cranky lesson horses. Each School horse has their own saddle, most being top of the line dressage saddles. Whether you are looking for lessons, boarding or work I can't recommend Winthrop Farm enough!

One of the owners Chris can be seen strolling around taking care of duties and has on more than one occasion answered my newbie questions. The other owner Larry is there too, I just haven't had the chance to bug him about anything LOL. I wanted a straight-forward, well-kept, non-commercial farm, and you not only get that with Sugar Ridge, but I have also found a family with these ladies and the horses there. The grounds are gorgeous, with plenty of room to ride and options to suit each skillset. It's been amazing to learn more about these gorgeous animals, and it does a world of good just being around them. You can also tell how well-taken care of the horses are just by how affectionate they are with Carin; she does an absolutely incredible job with them and it shows. She is also an amazing instructor, and I couldn't imagine being taught by anyone else. (Nor would I want to!) All of the staff has been great, all friendly and welcoming but owner's Jess and Josh take the time for each of their clients, Sam and Emily are amazing and great to work with. Team Verrill cares very much about the horses and their owners, it shows daily with their hard work and dedication. The barn and indoor is very well kept, lessons are thorough and always on schedule. The instructors were great and patient. Each girl got a good bit of riding time. And, got to learn how to brush and take care of the horses too. The location of this place is a little odd - you think you're driving through a cul de sac but lo and behold, this place shows up at the end. I'd recommend this to other scouts -- we got a fun patch out of it too!

It was our daughters first show. It was very organized and everyone had a wonderful time. Due to the hard work and determination of the barn owner Tish and all of the instructors (Robin, Paula, Megan, Kat) each time we are there it is a wonderful experience. Our daughter took home three show ribbons. We couldn't be more pround to be a part of the Windkist family. We are very excited to have our daughter join the ZO Windkist riding team in two years. This staff works tremendously hard to maintain the health horses of their horses, clean stalls, water buckets, turn outs, indoor area. The overall barn is very clean and organized. Our daughter works with instructors Robin and Kat! They are extremely patient, wonderful teaching kids responsibility and proper barn etiquette. I could write so much more. If you have a child or an adult we highly recommend Windkist Farm.
