About 2 years ago, Barker Concrete was contracted by Summerlyn Builders to pour my driveway. Within…read morethe first two months, I noticed it chipping and pitting. On a couple of occasions, I asked Summerlyn Builders to have Barker Concrete, the company they contracted, to inspect my driveway. Summerlyn Builders refused. I got Josh Barker's phone number and contacted him directly via text and I also called him. I have been chasing Josh for over 4 months asking him to please come by and inspect my driveway. Most of the time, he did not respond or he said he would get back to me, but he is busy. I recently contacted a concrete inspection company. I texted Josh to tell him that I have a call in to an inspection company. He responded with the following: "Unfortunately, I don't control the quality of the concrete, and it has been consistently getting worse over the years. I place and pour every driveway the exact same . I did stop by and looked at your driveway when I was working in the area. It is obvious it's salt damage from when you drive on the road, and it drains off your vehicle when you park on your driveway. There's nothing I can do to repair the damage that is done ,but if you would want to prevent any farther deterioration , you can wash it and put a sealer on it , they sell a lot of different sealers, at kuhlman concrete yard 4 or at Lowe's" What did I learn from Josh Barker: -He uses poor-quality concrete. -If I drive my car when there is salt on the roads, I can't park in my driveway. -He is well aware that the poor-quality concrete he chooses must be sealed, but I was never told this fact. -He believes this is my fault and my problem to solve. I work from home and rarely travel during the week. Josh stated he stopped by and looked at my driveway, but never came to my door to talk with me or let me know he was here. And, the concrete pad that is pitting the most - I don't park on! I plan to go through with the concrete inspection. I have a brand new driveway that is deteriorating, and Barker Concrete is telling me I need to handle it, but they take no responsibility. I will update this review as I learn more.

There was a heavy layer of dust throughout the attached bedroom. Personal items--including jewelry, books, the TV, and bedding, etc. --were all covered. No protective coverings were placed on the stairs to the third floor bathroom, and both the contractor and his crew consistently walked through our home with their boots on. We now need to hire a professional company to clean the vents. We also encountered several unexpected additional charges throughout the project. While the workmanship itself was acceptable (a B), the lack of cleanliness and care for our home was extremely concerning (a D-). At the completion of the job the contractor also left two buckets of watery grout in our garage for us to dispose of. This reflects our experience and is offered to help others make an informed decision."*
