After contacting the owner of Gutter Doctor Plus Jim Jackson he gave me an estimate within days. The job was also completed within days. My gutters had not been professionally cleaned or maintained in over 40 years. The crew was very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They cleaned my gutters sealed them and put up new hangers. They made sure the water was flowing correctly and even cleaned the outside of the gutters. Like many others here, Jim took money from us in March after the ice storm and then disappeared. He texted a few times saying he would arrive by the end of the week, and then more months of silence passed. The hell of it is, we'd hired him at least four times before and were happy. Where do I begin with this shit show of an operation. 2200$ later after "seamless " gutters... what a crock of shit, back gutter run is a straight shot, they split it and put sheet metal to hide the seam, only noticed it dripping that I noticed that they did not do a seamless run. Jim Jackson installed our gutter screens 15 (?) yrs. ago, but when he was hired to clean them recently, when I was not at home, he claimed a repair was necessary and charged me $300, promising to send me photos made with a drone-mounted camera ( said the job was too high up to see from the ground). I gave him the check ( wrong move on my part) and waited for the promised photos in my email. They never came. After 15 yrs., I thought I could trust him. Wrong ! I hired Jim Jackson, owner of the Gutter Doctor, for their services on my new home that i had extensively detailed out and was assured that he would have the projects done in a certain timeline-of course understanding things can come up and cause the timeline to change to a degree. I have been very lucky with all other contractors I have hired but am beyond disappointed by this company and by Jim Jackson himself. He started out okay and then quickly the service level and the projects he pressured me to pay him for prior to completion stopped all together. He was always saying that he and his crew would be finished by x date or have y project in progress and they either failed to show up all together or completed a project incorrectly/halfway of what our agreement was. He also would not share a breakdown of what the project costs were, which is something he assured me he would do every step of the way. In addition to not completing half the projects he was paid for he and his crew also broke several of the blinds in my house, broke my garage door and the garage door opener, lost my garage door remote, ruined two rugs that were brand new by stomping mud and other liquids on them that were beyond repair, leaving over 60 nails on my driveway, leaving the door to the house unlocked and physically open on 2 occasions, and leaving a trailer at the end of my driveway preventing myself and my family from accessing the home for several days and on thanksgiving. He has still left items at my home that he refuses to pick up and I have now setup for a company to come by and take to dispose of. I highly recommend avoiding this company and Jim Jackson at all costs. There are several very skilled and great contractors in the area and he is not one of them. Jim is difficult to work with. The reviews below are consistent with my experience. I had to call and leave a voicemail 5 times before someone would call me back. When they did call back they apologized for the delay and told me that Jim would be getting ahold of me that day. He did not. Later in the week Jim did text me to work out the details and give me a price. When I ask him for a written quote, he told me he doesn't do that. He said he didn't want me to be able to shop around with the quote. It was at this point that he started raising his voice and speaking in a very condescending and rude way. Unfortunately, I don't do business with contractors without a written quote upfront. To me, it's a written understanding that sets a clear expectation (for both sides) for the work that's expected to be completed and the price that's expected to be paid. As a self-employed business owner myself, I would never think of representing my company in such a manor. read more

Just when I thought the crew was done they would inspect and adjust accordingly. They cleaned up as if they were never even here and we couldn't be happier with the finished gutters. Jim was referred by a family friend to replace my roof. I will say he knew what he was talking about and hired a fabulous crew, but Jim himself was difficult to deal with. First he quoted me and told me we had 1.5 months to get discounted pricing on materials before peak season. I thought that was fine as I only needed 2 weeks to come up with the cash. After he left, we texted or called me several to push me to buy NOW. He even tried telling me that the materials were going up in price. Long short, gave him a deposit when I was ready, and had to wait 1.5 months before the work started despite his imaginary urgency. Part of that was weather, but every time we had a good week he wasn't ready. I threatened to cancel the contract and all the sudden he booked contractors. Here's where it gets sketchy....we already paid him half up front, but 1 day into the work he tried to get paid in full. I informed him of the contract verbiage and he was still insistent. I seriously think he needed to pay his workers (who I LOVED) so I gave him $1,000 out of pity. They finished the job, he was never here BTW. He over ordered materials, which I'm certain we paid for, and left them on my lawn for 7 days before picking them up. Hindsight, I should've grabbed them so I had replacement shingles. Also, He sold me a product that is supposed to come with a lifetime warranty...year later...NO WARRANTY DETAILS despite his empty promises and me asking for a copy over and over. What makes this worse, is that the guys he paid to do the work showed up at my doorstep a week after the job saying they haven't been paid. Jim told them I didn't pay him. In which I sent Jim a scathing voicemail and provided a copy of the receipt to the workers. They finally got paid Who he hired was amazing...I would work with them in a heartbeat. Jim, although a nice guy, obviously has money issues and is struggling. I don't recommend, he only delivers a portion of what is promised. read more

Though Jim Jackson assured me he would take a look at a damaged gutter to determine whether it would be covered by the previous owner's Gutter Doctor warranty, Jackson never returned my four follow up calls.
