There are several different fenced in areas available for the dogs, technically a small dog area, big dog area, and (sort of unspoken rule) a play area for dogs who like to roughhouse more. Picnic tables, benches, and a gazebo exist. There are also poop stations and water buckets for the dogs to drink from (and some of them to splash in). The only downside about this park is it isn't free - membership is required for residents and guests alike (check the website for more info). That said, it's worth the cost to let your dog run free. Plus, this place is ran and operated by the local humane society. There's nothing funnier to me than seeing my dog emerge from the bottom of the hill and run all the way back up to see me at the top.

The highlight is the Tanawha Trail that runs 13.5 miles and includes Grandfather Mountain. There are canoes available for rental and the lake is stocked with fish. I think that is the best way to see it. There was a TikTok couple hogging the best picture spot of the falls and a large group making a lot of noise at the upper falls. This is not really a go for 5 minutes but your dog run crazy and then go home type of place so, this is more of a pack a lunch and take your dog to enjoy the day with them, hiking the trails and playing in the creek, etc etc. It is a little hard to find it because you have to drive down to the bike park and then Park in the area right behind it.
