If price is just slightly higher, I'd choose to support this local bookstore, of course, but if I know that I can save $5 or more, why would I buy here? - Some manga volumes I was looking for were not available. - Small bathrooms despite the store's large 2-story space. Conditions are also often poor in Men's bathroom. | Reflection: I'm still thankful this & other Barnes & Noble locations are still open despite more people buying books online. This store felt like home to me; my grandfather used to take me & my brother here back in my teenage years to read books, and I self-studied by devouring knowledge from many business and self-improvement books. I like this B&N's location because it is walking distance from my car dealership and I spend time working in the cafe here while my car is being repaired. Woot woot! LOL. It makes those repair bills a little easier to stomach because at least I got to spend a lovely couple of hours at one of my favorite bookstores. Also, the location is great simply because it is located so many fabulous stores like Apple, Lush, and plenty of other stores in the shopping mall. TIP: If you need to catch an Uber here (don't ask), the Uber comes right to the sidewalk area near the cafe. A nice plus. read more

This is a review for the Café. The food is awful. Been here a few times while shopping and have been disappointed every time. I get it, not a place to go to eat, should have known better. But my sandwich tasted like it came from a vending machine and was heated in a microwave. It was either completely soggy or tough. Best part was overpaying for it. read more

This review is about Starbucks at this location, which felt a bit strange. I ordered a pink drink with light coconut milk and light ice. What I got was water tinted pink with ice and just two drops of coconut milk. I'm wondering if paying $6 for water is worth it! The best part was when I asked the staff if there was a mistake; she didn't realize she was missing something and asked if I wanted to add anything else. I love this store, it's great and the staff is friendly and helpful, but recently they had a reset of the whole store. Which is fine, but some of the sections I buy books from are now all mixed up. They are not in alphabetical order according to authors last name. That makes it difficult to find a particular book by a certain author. I hope people like me will complain and Barnes and Noble executives will fix those sections. read more

I do a lot of reading on a tablet I admit but I encourage all to go to a physical book store, local is great but even a brick and mortar Barnes and Noble is getting a bit harder to come by. There's something about discovering a book that you had no intentions of getting when you walked in that you can't get online. This location is one of the bigger ones, a second floor houses a fair selection of kids toys and books. They have a selection of toys more focused on STEM learning which is perfect for me as I'm trying to expose my nieces to various sciences to promote women in science (I'm a scientist ha). There's also a fairly sizable discount book section on the first floor to the left and a starbucks cafe with enough seating to read some of your newly found books while having a coffee. The Starbucks isn't quite as robust as a full on location but it's a lot better than some of the other in store cafe's I've experienced. Overall I recommend. Buy a book, buy a magazine, in 10 years who knows what the physical space will look like. read more

This is one of my favorite Barnes and Noble stores because the staff is always so helpful. Every time I'm looking for a book or even need recommendations, they always have an answer for me. I live super close to this store so I am always there! They've been extremely busy lately though, which I'm happy more people are reading but it's hard to get around a bit. I've started placing my orders online and picking them up and they're always quick to fulfill them. They also have a good selection of romance books, other barnes and noble stores I visit tend to have a small limited section. As often as I visit, I do not visit the Cafe inside so I cannot speak on that. Either way, I love it here and will continue to stop in! read more

Second time here and place hasn't changed. Venue - Same layout as most Barnes and Noble stores. Restroom is in the poorest conditions and can really use help, scared myself here having to take my lil one to use the Restroom. Place seems to be always going thru some remodeling. Staff - Not sure if it's short staffed or not but always hard to find someone to help or place is a mess and needs cleaning up of books and shelf. Much better Barnes & Noble than the one in Cary but I don't come here as much as I like since it is so far away from my residence. Whenever I do come here I get excellent amazing service and love the cafe even though it is somewhat overpriced. Much better selection of books than in Cary but only qualm is I don't feel safe walking to my car alone at this shopping center at night. read more

There is just something about going to a bookstore and it is getting harder and harder to find one. Amazon has put many small book stores out of business and even chains, remember Borders? The Streets at Southpoint is a great place to shop. Easy to park, place is kept clean and they have a great selection of stores. So back to The review. I love going into a bookstore, the sights, the way it smells the ability to look and actually touch and check out a magazine or a book before you purchase it. This store is always well maintained and there are plenty of employees who are always willing to answer any questions you may have and help you find what you are looking for The magazine selection is large and diverse there are two floors of books to wonder through, as well as a large section of books with the price marked down, and let's all agree it is always nice to find a bargain. What do you want to know? It's a Barnes and Noble. If you've been in one, you pretty much know what to expect. They have a large selection but the tradeoff is that the atmosphere is more commercial than intimate and cozy. They do have a multimedia section with CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, etc., and frankly my recent purchase there was budget DVDs rather than books. They do have a loyalty program but I think you have to pay to get it (which isn't worth it unless you buy lots of books from them). I prefer small, locally owned bookstores but will give B&N my business every once in a while. read more

Store closes at 10pm Manager was extremely rude as we explained that the hours are incorrect on google maps. Extremely uncalled for. Stated he had nothing to do with google, when it clearly is the business' responsibility to monitor and update their information online. And even pointed out that the hours are posted on the door...which wasn't the point we were making in the first place. This Barnes and Noble location is one of my favorite in the Triangle. It is a two story location with the top story having a few chair in which you can just sit and read or study. Please note there are only four chairs so they are often now available. Like most Barnes and Noble bookstores you will be able to find most books here but they can be rather pricey. If you are looking for cheaper books there are a few used bookstores in the area. Something nice about this location is the fact that it stays open until 11 pm on Friday and Saturday night. It is also a good place to waste some time before a movie at the AMC Theatre. read more

I love this Barnes & Noble! I'm really starting to feel like bookstores are a lost art in this day and age, so I love just strolling through B&N when I'm at the mall, and seeing what new books are out. I love that there are two floors of books! It's makes reading and books seem much more important - as they should be!! I also love their collection of board games! My husband and I love board games and we love getting them at B&N because they always seem to have new ones, and we have bought about 4 over the last few years. The Starbucks inside is handy, and the kids section is great for introducing kids to reading. B&N at Southpoint is great and I hope it will stay for years to come! read more

As with most B&N stores, it's about what one expects and it is what it is - a B&N Bookstore. Books galore, chairs to sit down and lounge so you can browse your selections and so on. There's a cafe' in the back and more reading selections upstairs. Not as nice as the Triangle TC location, but nicer than the Crabtree location. read more

I love this Barnes and Nobles. It is of course huge, just like any other Barnes and Nobles. But this one I feel has more of those over sized chairs scattered through out the store that allows for lounging and free book/magazine flipping. It's in a great location (Southpoint mall) and it's got some fun displays (yes, I'm a die hard Twilighter). My only gripe is that the travel section was smaller than I've seen at other Barnes and Nobles. read more

This is my favorite Barnes and Noble location. The wifi is free and pretty quick for public wifi. Somehow I also rarely have trouble finding a seat at the cafe here. The location makes it great for bookworms who get dragged to the mall by their shopping-loving family members, so everybody stays happy. After the shoppers are done with the rest of the mall, everyone can meet up at one of the many restaurants within walking distance at Southpoint or you can caravan to another nearby place. The selection here is good. Obviously it can't be as good as online, but they do a good job populating the shelves with the interesting titles. They occasionally have pretty good books on sale. This place also has events like storytime for kids but doesn't do a good job advertising them. Pick up a flyer at the front just before you go through the second set of front doors. read more

This place is a book lover's dream. Right when you walk in the front entrance, to the right side, there is a huge section of magazines. You can find a huge section on Manga, if you're into that, right next to the cafe area. The children's area is on the second floor. There are two floors in the building. First floor has a Starbucks cafe in the back with some round tables and chairs perfect for casual conversations over coffee or catching up on a good book. Buying new is a bit pricey. I have bought books here, but only when they're on sale and the cost is about the same as if I bought a gently used book from Amazon. Plus, you're saving trees. The employees here are always super friendly and helpful. In the past, I didn't know where a section of books were and one of the employees graciously guided me to what I was looking for. read more

Full bookstore with Cafe and all the typical perks of a high-end store. They sell the Nook and Nook Color e-book readers here which I think are the best out there, esp for the money. They build on Google's Android platform and are thus far more flexible. For geeks you can "root" them and you basically have the most inexpensive Android Table on the market. The newest Nook is all touch screen with the "E-Ink" screen that gives absolutely crisp text in grayscale. They first tend to release WiFi only ones, but add 3G to later ones. The 3G costs a bit more, but the price includes lifetime 3G not monthly or yearly and no contracts. However the 3G only works for downloading books, not Internet. The store is nice, staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Great choice of other items as well. I like how these kinds of book stores provide seating where you can just chill out and look though stuff before you buy. read more

I went into Barnes and noble this morning and got the rudest service. I and my mother ask the man is a nice calm voice if they had the Harry styles vogue magazine. But what the response was completely shocked me. Let me start off by saying this YOU WILL NEVER GET MAD AT ME WHEN I SPEAK OF HARRY STYLES. He said no we do not have the Harry styles vogue magazine and then my mother asked in a polite way will you get another shipment and this man said no we order 20 and they sold out the first day in the most rude tone possible. IF YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO ASK PUT A SIGN UP. Me and the other Harry and one D stands will not have this man speak rudely of Harry. So if you want people to stop asking get more or put a sign up it's not that hard. read more

When I visited this store, I felt that the cashier became a bit rude and short with me after I didn't have my photo ID for my educator discount. I used to work for the company as a bookseller, so I understand the request for the ID was reasonable, but this cashier's clipped tone and dismissive attitude was not. I had no problem just agreeing not to use my membership for that purchase, but I feel uncomfortable thinking I may have been treated differently because of it. I've always felt most B&N's are welcoming places, but I did not feel very welcome here. read more
