I appreciated that the first section you see when you walk in is a sizable romance section, complete with a bunch of old mass market paperbacks with "clinch covers." The best kind! There's also a big general fiction section, mysteries, kids' books, biographies/non-fiction, and more, including some nifty coffee table books that I'd love to have strewn around my home. Oh, and there were even some jigsaw puzzles! Bonus! The owner was pleasant and friendly, and I definitely plan to be back. In fact, this bookstore may have been the tipping point for our decision to move to Parker or Aurora. Hard to beat a delightful little used bookstore like this one!

She sits huddled in black, like a literal fly on the wall. Now onto the selection of sexist, queer stock of merchandise that greets every customer who enters in--including small children who don't need grooming on adult sexual preferences. In fact, I don't appreciate any shop that alienates my husband--who's also the one buying product on my behalf. He's in his final semester of school before defending his dissertation and obviously loves the written word. But between sage piles for exorcising spirits to stacked candles meant for exorcising whatever is straight in a man, I felt there was a vibe of anger and resentment in a room that should've been welcoming, given the warm fairy lights framing the children's section. Feminism sits in a collage of frames on the lower ceiling, but it felt as fake as the plastic casing it. Books should be a safe place for everyone, without bias. Men and women are not on this earth to constantly compete against each other but to complement one another. We won't be back again, nor will our children.

The man at the counter had very little to say to us when we walked in. The aisles, floors and stairs are close to being impassable with boxes and stacks of books. It's really cold in the building, uncomfortably so. I finally made a choice of a few books and checked out and the same man at the counter seemed bothered by my presence. He was never rude he just basically ignored me. I'm not sure I'd go back even though the topic they cater to is very interesting to me.
