The selection of books is great. The staff is always kind and the drinks in the cafe are really good.

Very nice and clean store. Staff at the cafe was very polite and service was great. My only complaint was that they have removed the wall outlets in the cafe area. I stopped in because I'm traveling and knew they would have a place to sit and relax while I sent out a few emails. I bought a drink and a snack and went over to plug in and do a little work. Laptop died before I could finish up. Over the years I have used this place to stop and take a break while doing a little work. Guess I'll need to find a new venue. read more

I come in regularly for coffee in the Starbucks and to browse. The store is typical BN but the staff is helpful and accommodating. They will look up a book to see if it is in stock but will not walk you to it. I thought that was kind of weird. The coffee shop is pretty well run and Heather is especially good at the whole coffee batr thing. I wish they had outlets in the restaurant area as they do offer wifi. I left an item in the coffee shop the oter day and they were great about holding on to it for me and having it available when I returned to fetch it. Nice shop read more

This bookstore has every type of book for all tastes. The bonus for me is a Starbucks kiosk for my java fix. I like to come here with my father and grandma to pick out a book every week. The people are nice and there is a great selection. read more

Barnes and Noble is a fabulous place for me to shop, tutor, and study. My favorite thing is the end caps of rows having different themes of books. It makes it easier for me to find something new to read. I also love the staff recommendations. I really appreciate getting other opinions about amounts ways book before I get it. I also love the 20% educator discount. I use it constantly to supply my classroom with books, games, and puzzles. One of the few places that offer such a great discount! read more

This company charged my credit card $25 for an auto-renewal from one purchase I made a full year ago? No advance warning or even a consideration of a renewal was offered. Don't do business with companies who play this game and will now avoid B&N altogether. Teri M. read more

If you can't find a book, you need to ask someone. If the first person (or first few) you ask just looks at the computer and says something like " it is in the fiction section, alphabetized by author"... go to another person and ask. I love the selection at these mega stores, but the service level is lacking greatly. We went Christmas shopping at this Barnes and Noble location and My husband asked 2 people to help find a book in which they gave the aforementioned response. being the pushy person that i am... i asked a 3rd person with the right questions... and they told me that they did have the book , but it was on hold for a different customer.. so they had no actual copies for us in the store. then i asked them to call another store in the area to see if they had it and if they would put it on hold for us. Moral of the story... don't let them give you the brush off! read more

Always clean and the drinks are pretty good. They even have a chess and scrabble club on Tuesday nights.

I have always been escorted directly to the book I inquired upon. They have been very friendly and helpful. I have found that they don't really a large selection of the obscure books that can most times be found at borders, but for the most part the selections is good and friendly staff. Do not shop here. They essentially run a price tag bait-and-switch with their own website and will not price match to their own website. You're much better off just using Amazon. I will not be shopping there again. read more

I love coming here. The staff is so helpful and they always either have the book or tell me they can order it in under a week. I just love it! The staff is always looking to help in any situation. The Coffee shop in Barnes and Noble is actually one of my favorite places to hang out. read more

I used to really like Barnes and Noble because it is a conveniently located bookstore to my house. They've run almost all other bookstores out of town, and seem to be on the verge of monopolizing Tulsa. Unfortunately, one day I went to waste some free time and left being accused of shoplifting. When I walked into the store, I happened to have an old book given to me a few years prior in my purse. It was hardcover with the outer cover off. It had clearly been used and had earmarked pages, post-it's, and writing on the inside pages. I had been browsing the entire store and went to leave when the alarm went off. The cashier at the front counter immediately stopped me and asked to look in my purse. I did so and informed her I had an old book with me, the whole time understanding this was protocol and that she was just doing her job. She took the book out and went through the contents of my entire purse before bothering to acknowledge what I had said. She asked when I had been given the book, so I told her a few years ago. She flipped through it and then gave me my purse and the book back, but not before she gave me a dirty look that implied I was lying. She seemed mad that I hadn't been shoplifting from the tone of her voice when she told me not to put books in my purse anymore (but where else am I supposed to carry them??). I promptly left and have only been back on the rare occasion that a class requires a book from there (seeing as the other closet chain bookstore to me is Books-a-Million in Tulsa Hills and I live in Midtown Tulsa). On top of this ordeal, the customer service is HORRIBLE. Before the whole "shoplifting" experience, I had been left numerous times searching the store for an employee because the customer service desk had been abandoned. Sometimes the employees were nowhere to be found in the store. When I could find an employee, it seemed they never had the book I needed unless it was a classic. They especially don't like to stock full series of books. There have been a multitude of times where I had finished a book and gone to get the next one, and they had only the odds or evens of the series stocked. Since the only other options are the few used bookstores littered around Tulsa or the local libraries, this is a necessary evil if you like buying your books in hand. I personally love that, but the service here is so repulsive that I often just resort to online shopping (because the books I want are stocked :P). read more
