Elizabeth at the front register is one of the nicest people I have ever encountered working a register. She knows which items you have that might be on sale and looks them up in the ad for you in no time flat. This is my only drugstore. They also have one or two Redbox units outside so I can get my medicine, some movies, and the popcorn to go with them. The drive-through isn't blazingly fast but when it comes to my medicine, I'd rather them take their time than to make a mistake. They are very good at their jobs.

Although this Wal Mart is pretty sketchy, since at least one person (maybe two) were shot in the parking lot, I boldly went to this Wal Mart for the first time since living maybe 6 miles away from it for over 15 years. The order was scheduled for pickup today after 11 AM but was actually ready around 4:45 yesterday. I arrived around 5, found my way to the designated pickup parking spaces (they have 16) and I chose 16 because it's my favorite number. Checked in via text and received a text that someone would deliver my item shortly. I set a timer on my phone and "shortly" was actually 15 minutes. The young lady who brought my items to my car was so sweet and apologetic, and seriously all 16 pick up parking spaces were full, so how can you be mad about a brief wait. This Wal Mart's pickup is vastly inferior to the Wal Mart on 72 west which is about the same distance away and I'll likely use it in the future since I have had exceptional experiences there. The Athens WM could benefit from the pickup set up at the Madison WM which includes a kiosk to check in and a covered area under which you park, I think 3 cars can fit under the covering at one time meaning you are comfy in the hottest sunshine, the most torrential rain, and even sleet and snow. Plus, the employees are protected from the elements too! Thanks Athens WM for providing the inexpensive Christmas cookie cutters and Merry Christmas to you!

That's was great, but wait there's more! After confirming it in stock, I told the pharmacist that I had to call my pharmacy and transfer it to sure save. He said "I can take care of that for you so you don't have to worry about it." So here's the thing. He didn't have to do that. He took it the extra step and completely exceeded my expectations. Given the fact that I'm in a lot of pain from my ER visit last night, I really REALLY appreciated that.

We're visiting the quaint hamlet of Pulaski Tennessee on this late spring Saturday. Pulaski is home…read moreof the world renowned Sun Drop Festival, and also home to other unsavory happenings back in the 1800s, but we're beyond that I'm hoping. The happenings on this day were of a more civil nature and consisted of a number of fair vendors setting up shop around the historic town square. Reeves Drugstore is housed in a string of old brick buildings that also line the square. Its charm is old school from the get-go. When I opened their front door and stepped in, it was like stepping back into my childhood. Immediately, I thought, dang, we had one of these in our downtown. In fact, three! Newberrys, Thrifty, and Woolworth. All had lunch counters, and all served up tasty food offerings just like Reeves. Reeves also has an ice cream counter. $1.75 for a scoop! If you're lucky, you'll get the young lady who scooped up ours. She packs it into the base of the cone before putting a generous scoop on top. My Butter Pecan cone was solid. There were plenty of pecans mixed in. Some in every bite. We didn't need any drugs on this visit. We were pretty high from the Sun Drop soda, Sun Drop cake, freeze-dried gummy bears, and of course, ice cream. But if you're in need of some kind of pill, tincture, or sundry, you'll be in good hands at Reeves. Quick Tip: The folks who work at Reeves are honest, hard-working townspeople. Polite as can be. If you're in need of some sincere southern hospitality, they'll give it by the bushel. Please give them your business, and reward them with a smile.
