BARONE SPINAL CARE CHANGED MY LIFE.......... I am a personal trainer and have been an athlete my entire life. Playing travel hockey for 9 years, then racing motocross at the regional and national level for 4 years took my body to the limit. At the age of 23 I have quite a long list of injuries(torn acl, torn meniscus, broken collarbone, broken femur, torn costal rib cartilage, broken bones in both hands, and numerous concussions just to name a few). My body has been through a lot of physical wear and tear. Although I wish I could have avoided these injuries, I am very grateful because all of these injuries led me right into the doors of Barone Spinal Care. I met Dr. Barone in early 2007 at Lifetime Fitness where I used to work. I told Dr.Barone about a lingering injury I had to my ribs that would not seem to heal. I told him how my orthopedic surgeon told me to stop working out, and that the pain pills and muscle relaxers he prescribed me would heal me up. I am not a believer in covering up a problem, I want to go to the cause of the problem and fix it. I know that my body has an innate ability to heal and function, so I kept questioning why my injury was not healing. Dr. Barone recommended that I come into his office and get checked for subluxation (an interference to the nervous system due to the misalignment of the atlas vertebrae). He also informed me that if I did have a misalignment, he would be able to correct it without any twisting, popping or cracking using a procedure called NUCCA. I was very interested in seeing what he could do for me, so I got set up with a consultation to get myself checked out. I thought the consultation was very thorough and I was very impressed with the technology used to help determine what my problem was. At the end of the consultation Dr. Barone explained to me that my right leg was 1 inch shorter than my left and my body was not in a state of balance. I had pressure on my brain stem from a misaligned atlas vertebra that was blocking the signals and communication from my brain to my body. This misalignment was causing my entire spine to be twisted and torqued, putting pressure on the nerves that control every single function of my body. No wonder why my ribs would not heal. The more I learned through the consultation the more it all made sense. It was a no brainer to me that I had a problem that would lead to serious health problems in the future if I did not get my spine in alignment. After my first correction I kind of laughed because I did not feel twisting, popping or cracking. After Dr. Barone delivered the correction he checked my hips and feet again. My legs went from being 1inch off to being completely even! When I got up off the table I felt lighter and looser. My body was working how it was designed to, symmetrical and interference free! Within 4 weeks of starting with Dr. Barone, my chest was healed and I was back to my active lifestyle. If that was the only improvement I had made, the time and money I had spent with Dr. Barone would be totally worth it. I invested in a complete care plan for my health and it was awesome. Barone Spinal Care laid out a plan for me that allowed me to save time and money. Best of all the plan they offered me gave me UNLIMITED CARE in the office! Anytime I felt out of alignment I could shoot right in, get checked and leave without paying or stopping at the front desk. I thought this was great that they took the time to design a plan that is a win-win situation. As my chest pain went away, I also began to notice that normal soreness and aches that I had become accustomed to over the years were also fading away. After six months, tightness in my upper back and shoulders was gone, my hips felt stronger and more stable, and my body recovered from hard workouts much faster. Being in alignment allows the brain to properly communicate with the body. Misalignments block the vital signals the body needs to function. I want to live my life to the full potential and I know that the Barone Spinal Care team will do what it takes to get me there. This place is just fishy. Upon arriving at Barone Spinal Care and Performance it seemed like any other doctor office or health clinic. However, once I was given a tour by the enthusiastic receptionist, my gut told me something just was not right. It felt like she was trying to sell me something. I was right, the entire first visit served as their sales pitch. The doctor goes over the prices with you during your initial screening and I even overheard Barone telling a patient "now the next visits will be a lot cheaper!" There were even weird posters in the rooms that conveyed the message that quitters don't succeed. It all just seemed so strange. Something screemed SALES PITCH in my head. It was pointless to explain my symptoms to the "doctor" as she could not explain to me in any way how treatment can help or even how my missalignment contributes to my symptoms. When it comes to spinal adjustments, the treatment they offer is the same no matter what you are there for. Regardless, the doctor just did not seem prepared to answer any questions and seemed a bit taken back once some where asked. She told me of a study done at "some medical college around chicago" where patients experienced a lowering of blood pressure after receiving upper cervical adjustments. The University is University of Chicago by the way and it is a breakthrough study. The fact that a "doctor" could not remember that is a red flag to me. Upon leaving they gave me a packet containing personal information on doctor Barone and the other doctors; things like their likes and hobbies. Who cares? Since when does a doctor need to legitimize himself by making it known that he served in the NAVY or enjoys exercise? Cmon! Not professional!! I was really excited to seek the help of a non traditional doctor, however, this place just seems too fishy. This place may very well help people, but i will try and find a more legitimate place. read more

Dear Dr. B, I have to start out by saying Thank You so much for helping me improve my life in the past 6 months! I was suffering from low/mid back pain for approximately the past 3 years and neck pain for 1 year. I also had soreness in my hands and fingers, lack of sleep and acid reflux every now and again. My pain was significantly worse when I was pregnant with my twin boys, causing shooting pains down my right leg. My brother, Drew, introduced me to you and the NUCCA chiropractic practice and asked me to give it a shot. He could tell how much pain I was in. What did I have to lose? He told me what the adjustments were like, very gentle, no cracking or popping of your spine or neck. He also told me how much he thought it would help me with my pregnancy and developement of my twin boys. When walking is a difficult task, you know that you need some help. So, I decided to go for it. After my first adjustment, I was surprised how much better I felt. I was about 6 months pregnant with my twins and had an extra 30 - 40 pounds strapped around my waist making it difficult for me to do every day tasks. Immediately after my adjustment I felt lighter, I was walking straighter and standing taller. I was adjusted once to twice a week for the 6 weeks and every time I felt better and better. Now, I am 6 months into my treatment and only coming every 2 weeks because I have been holding my adjustments! I barley have pain in my back or my neck and when I do, it's nothing compared to what it used to be. I can not thank you and your team enough for helping me and being so friendly and welcoming. It is unfortunate that practices like Barone Spinal Care exist. They are the reason chiropractic is frowned upon by science and society. This is the type of clinic that tries very hard to sell you on adjustments and literally discourages any questioning of the techniques used. Barone Spinal Care does not stop at helping those with neck injuries, they advocate the use of upper cervical manipulation (neck), a technique that has its fair share of risks including stroke and permanant damage for every single ailment! I can only imagine how many poor senior citizens are duped into forking over money and signing their contract for problems completely unrelated to the neck and upper cervical area. It is scary to picture a person with an urgent disease such as cancer delaying much needed treatment due to falling for the quackery taking place at Barone Spinal Care. If you do a simple google search you will find that the techniques they use to screen you and sell you on treatment- thermal infrared imaging, the leg test - sound fancy but have not been validated or proven to work. It is normal for a person's leg to be shorter, as the muscle contractions resulting from an activity like walking will account for a temporary observation of one leg being shorter than the other. People not in the know are scared into believing an adjustment will help cure everything. Please, don't buy into the tactics used by Barone Spinal Care and other shady similar offices employing the same tactics! It is very hard to find a legitimate chiropractor but they do exist. (good idea to avoid any office that gives xrays to first time patients as well as relies on the leg test) At least I hope so, I am still searching. . . read more

Dr. Barone is very good at what he does! I really believe he is a doctor that truly cares about his patients and he is VERY passionate about what he does. Not only does he care about your physical health but I love his philosophy on the '4 Keys to Health'. His focus is chiropractic but if you ask him about anything (weight, exercises, nutrition, too much stress you are dealing with) he always has really valuable advise! The upper cervical care is amazing! I love the science and objectivity behind it. Whenever my head or neck hurts, I know I'm out of alignment and need to see him. Almost immediately, I feel back to normal. I know the care has helped me with my overall health as well. I haven't had a single headache, fever, cold, stomach ache, flu, ANYTHING in 2 years!!! I've been healthier than I've ever been before and I attribute that in part to Dr. Barone. Also, I ran my first ULTRA-MARATHON (50.2 miles) just a few days ago and I know my alignments have made a huge difference in my running - it helps put me on center so that I'm running balanced and not wearing and tearing on my joints improperly. My name is Nick Ciaccio. I am 66 years old and have been a patient of Barone Spinal Care since June of 2013. I was never in any real pain, but Dr Barone noticed that my spine was definitely mis-aligned, probably due to an injury many years ago. For the past 20 years looking for Chiropratics, physical therapy and spine therapy dr , unsuccessful. None of the dr I went can help me. A friend told me about dr Barone. I make appointment. 12+years ago I had back issues and nerve damage to my feet. I went to 2 different neurologists and 3 different chiropractors to no avail. Met Dr. Barone at a motocross track and made an appointment and had immediate long lasting results. 2nd incident after a long sebatical from seeing Dr. Barone I had a second incident. Allegedly Labled with Claudia Equine Syndrome( lost bladder and bowel control and could not raise my left leg due to compression of spine. After 2 visits I had bowels and bladder under control and I could fully raise my leg again. A few more visits and I ambetter than I was before I returned to Dr. Barone, without any surgery or medications as advised by all other avenues persued. read more

I had severe neck pain and limited range of motion for nearly a year when I started my treatments a Barone Spinal Care. Prior to this, I'd been to an orthopedic doctor, who prescribed physical therapy and pain meds. I had acupuncture, I went to a naprapath for massage and adjustments. None of these treatments did anything to help my pain or stiffness. A friend recommended Dr. Barone and NUCCA and swore by it. I've been getting adjustments for about one month now. I have much less pain and better range of motion. The adjustments are painless and there is no yanking or cracking, unlike traditional chiropractic. I am in my early 40's and have suffered from periodic back pain and headaches for the last 20 years of my life. I have never really proactively approached curing this, it has always been reactive once in pain. I was approached by Barone Spinal Care at a local Chicago event. I was interested although initially skeptical of the programme. However, the initial results are very promising. I have seen improved blood circulation, my body maintaining better alignment for longer, reduced pain and headaches. As I said am in my early 40's and want my health to be as good as i can make it. The place is hectic, chiropractor sees way too many patients at a time! He has the girl at the front desk doing too much, I hope she is at least getting paid a lot. He is very unprofessional and gave me a perverted vibe. He asks too many personal questions that are none of his business, and be careful because he doesn't keep his promises. read more

I originally gave this 4 stars when going there, because they asked me to give a positive review about going there. As well as writing a review for their book in their patient rooms, but I have come to realize the "treatment" from his office really didn't do anything. I wouldn't recommend going there and would seek other options. read more
