Back to Mine, one of only a handful of clubs in Bath's city centre is fun, relaxed and guaranteed to please. You'll find along The Podium, a little bit out of the main hustle and bustle (if Bath ever experiences anything of the like!) but definitely worth the walk. Open 6 nights a week, and hosting a range of events, you're bound to find an evening to suit your tastes. There's a poker night, karaoke, retro and reggae as well as special events so keep an eye on the website to find out what's on. Entry is cheap, but drinks are pretty average for a club. The crowd is always weird and wonderful and it's a brilliant place to drunkenly dance the night away.

You'll find yourself with two distinct choices - Moles or Back To Mine. I prefer the latter, to be honest (Moles can get pretty samey). With it's interesting layout and cool vibe, Back To Mine is a hotspot for the city's young folk. The drinks are averagely priced for a club and the music is usually spot-on, plus it's often free to get in before 11. It's not as good as the better clubs in Bristol, but for Bath, it does a good job.

Ok maybe it was actually drinking the wine that made me fall out of my seat. Good crowds and very friendly barman when we were there. Lots of people in for the cheap and cheerful food. Good place to start the night.

At the end, two of us ended up not getting dessert. We notified the waiters several times about this, they kept going backwards and forwards to the kitchen/manager and eventually declared that they don't have any desserts for us and there was nothing they could do about it. We tried to discuss with the waiters for a while to find a solution acceptable for everyone, but they we're not forth coming at all and clearly not interested in making us - THE PAYING CUSTOMER - happy. We then requested to speak to the manager. He was even worse. He blamed us for what has happened and clearly did not care whatsoever about providing what we had paid for (mind you, we paid in advance, so he already had his money). Not only was he saying that WE had eaten too many desserts and the mistake was ours, but he also said that we should speak to other members of our group and get to the bottom of who had had two desserts. What kind of service is this? We came to have a nice christmas meal, paid for everything, and in the end while everyone else was happily having their dessert, the two of us were left with nothing. Clearly, the manager does not care whatsoever about how the customers experience is. Not in the slightest did he try to offer us a solution. He was rude and rolled his eyes at us. Truly disappointing. In addition, the pub is quite grimy and not clean. It is badly lit and not comfortable. The food that we did get - I had a cheese tart and my friend beef with trimmings - wasn't good either. It was only lukewarm and clearly not freshly prepared. Probably just prepared from frozen. Overall, I will never ever go to this horrible place anymore. The manager should not be in a position with customer contact and is horrendous at his job. I left the place angry and disappointed. The problem was not that I didn't get dessert (it probably would not have tasted that good anyway) but the way how this was dealt with. Clearly no interest whatsoever in making customers happy. Strongly advise anyone not to ever go to this place.

Their tone was aggressive, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. They then banned me from the club for no valid reason. As a young female I felt intimidated and I had to walk away and wait for my transport somewhere else as the insults wouldn't stop and they kept calling me a horrible friend, a disgusting person etc... It was around 3am and i should've felt safe waiting next to the venue however it was the exact opposite. The incel security team seems to be on a power trip, making excuses to harass women instead of acting professionally, not to mention my friend got home okay and he is disgusted with how they treated me.

I'll set the scene; I was with a group of friends celebrating a birthday, where the birthday girl understandably wanted to visit you as a fixture of the gay scene in Southampton. We agreed - the Edge has an excellent reputation. However, the treatment I and several other members of the birthday party we endured is, frankly, completely unacceptable. The door staff you employ, or contract, are disgustingly rude. Unaware that a picture ID system was in place (I've not been to a club since Covid), I was unaware that I needed to bring a form of photo ID with me. Fair enough - I was happy to show the woman at the door a copy of my credit card and my Facebook profile picture as proof that I am who I say I am. However, the manner and way in which she proceeded to extremely patronisingly demand "well why don't you have any photo ID", visibly sighing and rather dismissively inferring that I was stupid for not knowing this. Rather than politely saying "oh that's ok, we can use Facebook and a credit card" or words to that effect, she essentially demanding that I needed photo ID and that " as your [The Edge's] photo-ID systems had been installed for four years" and that I should "get with the times". As if my mere presence insulted her and that I, single-handedly, was making her job ten times harder than it needed be. Then visibly annoyed while waiting for me to sign in to Facebook and provide evidence of my ID, she snatched my credit card away from me and presented it to the man at the responsible for entering ID systems, saying that I should apologise to her for holding the queue up. By this point I had decided that if this was representative of the "service" at your establishment that I was not comfortable patronising your bar, and that I wanted to leave. I then requested my credit card back from the man at the door, at which point I overheard her say words to the effect of "are you being serious? That's a f***ing waste of time". As if patrons, your valued customers, are little more than cattle to be herded, with no regard for either my safety, or the feelings of your clients. Extreme words, perhaps, but that's honestly the feeling I got from her. The door staff member in question is what I would describe as an older lady, with peroxide blonde or very light brown hair, working in a black T-shirt that says "security". Because I just wanted to get out of there I didn't get her name, unfortunately, but she was working around 11:30 pm on Saturday 12th September. While I understand that being door staff is hardly rocket science, I nevertheless expect a certain level of professionalism and modicum of both decency and respect as a possible customer at your bar - she is 'security', but I hardly felt 'secure' with her. My entire experience, and in particular the abysmal and deeply offensive level of service provided by the member of staff in question is, frankly, disgusting, and completely unacceptable. This whole unfortunate experience has completely ruined a perfectly good night out, and I am still, over an hour later, visibly shaken (and, indeed, shaking). If this is standard of customer "service" I can expect from The Edge, it paints what I am sorry to say is a level of service far below that which can be reasonably expected from one of Southampton's premiere LGBT+ clubs. What a disgusting end to a great night out.

A fairly substantial break, I would say! But it's done well for it. Every day there's a 'Cheeky Hour', even better than the humourously named 'Happy Hours' that only last 2hours because it lasts for 3! I have to be honest, we went inside without realising that it was a gay bar. But, we were all (my housemates and myself) glad that we did because the mood in the whole bar is one of outrageous fun. We didn't stay particularly late because we'd only wanted a quiet drink. That went out of the window when the transvestites came in - but it was brilliant! If you go before 11pm it is free entry. After that it begins to turn more into a nightclub. The music is quite Flares-esque - disco, camp, wonderful.

It's pretty brightly coloured inside and was like a tin of sardines in this seemly very popular bar. Main point though, drinks were £1.50 so it could of had wild legged sharks attacking everyone (They'd have water scuba tank to breath) and I wouldn't care. Yes, back to the story, we were leaving and this guy I was talking to earlier who thought he knew me from Uni was asking where I was going next. I replied it was a rock night somewhere and he went ' oh....OH." To which I repeated the sentiment and walked away with the experience of being hit on by another dude. These looks are my gift and curse...
