When he came to fix it, we discussed replacing the liner as well. He gave us an estimated cost for parts and labor. The liner was estimated at $700. We gave him $1700 up front. I was looking at liners online because we wanted to pick out the pattern to make sure it was a pattern we were going to like. I kept asking for a website I could look on to choose the liner pattern. He sent us a picture of the one he was going to order. It was not a pattern we liked. So I was looking and found a pattern we liked. I had also requested the invoices/receipts for our parts he had estimated for us, since the liner was $220 cheaper than what he had estimated. When he finally came to do the work he had excuses for things that were not going right. The liner was ripped and felt much thinner than the one being taken out. The liner is supposed to be 25 guage which is supposed to be a thicker liner. His fix for the rip was to patch it. Why should I have to keep a ripped liner that had to be repaired due to his error. The liner pattern went up crooked and bubbled at the top due to leaving to much slack. He put about 2 inches of water and expected the rest of the payment. I refused at that time since I was not able to know if there were going to any leaks or problems with the liner. Or plumbing parts which had to be reinstalled. The pool was filled the following day by us. There were leaks at most of the plumbing fittings. The skimmer was not properly installed since it is leaking at the bottom of the skimmer. Very dissatisfied! He still has not given us the receipts to finalize the invoice. Now we have a patched up liner that is bubbled and crooked/slanted. We will have to find someone else to fix his shotty work. We will not give us a new liner which is not ripped or reimbursement for the liner. We have lost 4 inches of water of a 24' round pool. A TOTAL WASTE OF OUR MONEY! I had taken video, but I cannot upload the video. I asked if the liner we had picked would work. He said it would. He is the professional installer. He should have told us it would not work. He should have sent us options to choose from instead of just one. If the parts are bad, a professional installer would not but back the same old parts if they knew it was going to be a problem. The leak he said was at the skimmer where the screws were. I saw the two cracks he made which was caused by using the old parts and/or over torqued the screws. A professional would not have accepted a job they knew they were not going to be able to do. He was at the house and looked under the deck and everything! Excuses for everything that went wrong without properly installing a new liner without ripping it or ensuring plumbing would not leak!

We contacted Midway Plumbing when we were having a sink drain issue in my kitchen. The plumber;…read moreRyder Ratliff, did an awesome job in clearing the drain and in the process we encountered a few other issues. Ryder addressed them, completed the job with professionalism. He's very meticulous and does quality work. We appreciated the great work he did. We will use them again if needed in the future.

I would get a second or 3rd opinion from another plumber or verify with a friend or contractor who…read moreknows something about plumbing. My sewage line wasn't draining properly so I got bid from them. They used a camera (sophisticated) to explore the sewage line, which was about 60 ft from the fence line/alley. Guy said that it was old clay pipe that needed to be replaced for $7000. And they would have to replace it all the way to the city main, which would make Abilene the only city that allows anyone to work on their city mains. So just to check on what the city had which I figured was upgraded to pvc (it was) I dug down to the sewer line at the edge of the property. So I started digging down to the sewer line a couple of other places just to verify what the plumber claimed. It ended up only being clay about 10 ft on my property from the city's line. So if the guy had been honest and not tried to grossly exaggerated or pad the estimate he would have said replace the 10 feet of clay because he couldn't have missed it with the camera that he ran from the trap next to my house down toward the fence line. This is probably a common way that unscrupulous plumbers line their pockets. It took a day to dig up that 10 ft of clay and replace w pvc. Cost $89 for supplies. What a profit margin. The sad thing or maybe part of the scam was the fish (Christian) symbol on his truck.
