I rarely write a review especially a negative one. Unfortunately, this can not go on any longer! The office staff here has absolutely, no understanding of the term "Customer Service". In the past we did not have any issues with maintenance or the office staff. Before picking this apartment over others, we obviously looked at the reviews. The way they respond to reviews make it seem like they were fake, implying that "Your name is not in our records" or "you were made aware" in a very crass way. But no. This place is the worst place i've ever lived in my life. This is a fake name so they won't treat us differently, since we are stuck in a 12 month lease. As soon as we got there there we were greeted by filth. dead flies, centipedes and roaches, dirty baseboards, and a moldy washer. The dishwasher reeked when we first ran it, now we wash dishes by hand. They assured us they had it cleaned TWO times, but obviously not. The toilet handle broke off the first flush. They did not hookup the washer completely and when we ran it the first time it flooded the laundry room. Speaking of, we've had to call maintenance to get IN to our laundry room since the washer shakes so bad that it blocks the door. Roaches, gnats, centipedes, flies, fleas, and bed bugs are all included in this Luxury apartment, Thankfully for free! Since you'll pay a hefty $1,650 to live here at the minimum. Don't expect to use your patio or balcony if you care about roaches coming in. We got a brand new mattress when we moved in, it has been about a month and we have been waking up with red itchy welts all over our bodies. We pulled off the sheets and in horror there are rusty colored stains all over our mattress from squashed bed bugs. We have since evacuated the apartment until we can get pest control here tomorrow. This shouldn't be the tenants burden, this should've been addressed BEFORE they listed availability. They don't take care of trash. There is currently a huge dumpster blocking the compactor entrance that is already full. It genuinely seems like they don't know how to run a complex. The maintenance staff are generally nice, The true problem is the property manager, and It seems like there's only one for a such large complex. This apartment is a nightmare, and is both emotionally and physically draining to live in. There's always something going on, cut gutter pipes blocking off parking spots, mismanaged repaving, stray cats that if you feed they will threaten a lease violation. There is too much to even put down in a review that's already essay length. This isn't even a safe place for us to sleep in right now, and that says a lot if you're looking for a place to live. read more

I have to say I've never had such a terrible experience at an apartment complex. Even if you never received any noise complaints, paid rent on time, and lived here for 8 years, Barrett Walk will still send you a letter stating that at the end of your lease they're kicking you out and refusing to renew. All without providing an explanation why. And when confronting the office, they could not give an answer. And Bonnie the manager was out "sick". Like she couldn't pick up a phone. From Bonnie Foster's (the manager) nasty personality when asking to update and paint our apartment (since rent KEEPS GOING UP), I'm assuming it's because they want to rent the apartment out for more. The quality of this complex and the people who run it is the gutter. When we first moved this place was beautiful, kept clean, the maintenance men weren't shady and "accidentally" opening our garage or coming into our apartment without request, and we NEVER had to deal with such horrible and unprofessional office staff. I'm in real estate customer service myself and the quality of this place and its service is nonexistent. Days Later Update: Ever since I've posted my review my family has noticed that boxes in our garage have been moved around both yesterday and today, and when they called maintenance to come fix the toilet earlier Mastoof purposely dripped toilet water all over our carpet and floors that my mother had to clean up. This behavior is ghastly, unprofessional, unacceptable, and completely gutter-like. I'm absolutely appalled at these people and the nerve of them. They've also come into our apartment and rummaged through our stuff today while we were out. Our file cabinet that weights at least 40 pounds has been moved, I've attached pictures where you can see the carpet indents, and my mom also placed a toothpick on it that is now nowhere to be seen. read more

This complex is a nightmare. I've been here since 2019 and in those three years our rent has gone up $500! In addition to that, the complex has a serious cockroach issue that I've been complaining about for years. You can see HUGE ones outside dead as soon as you open your door. Don't worry, the roaches don't stay outside, they come in to keep you company too. "Luxury" apartments, that's a joke. Our toilet is always broken, appliances are all ancient, everything about this apartment is outdated. The front office has super high turnover, and they're consistently losing track of communication between them and tenants. All these issues and they still have the nerve to charge $2000/mo? I live on the bottom FLOOR AND there is a series bug issues we just saw a ROACH they came and sprayed the apartment the man said it was effective and none would come back and its actually getting completely worst I lived her since 2020 December 28 and a few months after we saw the first one and the maintenance man said it was a German ROACH on top of the DIRTY CLHOTHES Ramp then we saw it fall behind it so I don't think living here is the best it's awful seeing one it disturbs me so bad so When I first came I loved it but now it's awful I don't rate this is 0 NO CAP LIKE NOO read more

"Luxury apartment homes"? What a joke! These people will screw you over any way they can. They charged me a 50.00 "electric recovery fee" for one day of difference between when my lease said I moved in vs when my electric was supposed to start -a telling welcome to this place. Also, when I moved in, there were no light fixtures in the living room or the bedroom. They said that's because most people prefer to supply their own. Actually, we want to just hit a light switch and have there be light! I expect light fixtures even in basic apartments, so why wouldn't one claiming the title of "luxury" supply standard things like this? Also, the AC was broken when I moved in and took a week to resolve, I have found 2 different species of cockroach in the first month, and the garbage disposal was leaking rusty water when I moved in. I wish I had gone anywhere else. Update: Now they are falsely accusing me of throwing a Christmas tree out back behind my apartment and have charged me $25. I have told them twice now that it wasn't me and I don't even do Christmas. They keep deferring my calls, saying the manager is on an important phone call, etc. and they will get right back to me. I can't wait til this lease is up. This has been my most expensive, and least pleasant rental experience in 15 years as a renter. Barrett Walk is a nice apartment complex, and it's not too loud which is great since it is close to the college. The staff is very responsive to any issues or maintenance requests. I love all my neighbors too, and that always helps read more

We've lived here for less than a year and we're already looking for new places after our lease is up. Taffani from the office called me 7 days before we were supposed to move in and told me that the woman decided to stay in the apartment that we had signed for so we were out of luck and all she could do for us was move us to a more expensive apartment that we didn't want. We received no apologies from anyone. Since we have been here, maintenance and dealing with the office has been a nightmare. Maintenance takes forever to come fix things and they're always rude. The office doesn't let us know when they have a package of ours, and they don't ever put in our maintenance orders correct. We once received a note on our door from the office asking residents with pets to either cage them or board them for an entire week, Monday through Friday 8 to 5, while they did apartment inspections. No I am not kidding. They are that selfish. The staff here is lazy and isn't concerned with anyone but themselves. We have not once dealt with them where they have been professional or helpful. The apartments are beautiful, but dealing with the staff is simply not worth it. I strongly suggest not moving in. You'll only be disappointed. read more

I've lived here for about two years and overall my stay was pleasant. Janelle, the property manager, was always very helpful and handled issues in a timely manner. I didn't really interact with any other consultants, but anytime I was at the leasing office, for packages, questions, etc. they were usually friendly. The property itself was nice. There was never a lot of trash on the ground. The only issue I guess I've ever had was concerning a certain "visitor" that I felt maintenance did not handle as they should have, my boyfriend had to handle that without any help of maintenance. I love this apartment complex! It's so clean and so quiet. Most of the residents are college students or young professionals. The only time I've seen kids is at the bus stop in the mornings. Other than that you never see them. The office is very friendly and super helpful. I got a great deal and have been living here for almost 2 years. My wife, daughter and I lived at Barrett Walk for a year. I paid my rent on time, respected my neighbors and took care of the apartment as it was my own. I moved out today and was told my security deposit was being held due to an oven that looked like it needed to be cleaned, used drip pans on the stove, and carpet that needed to be replaced ( even though the carpet was used when we moved in). I wouldn't recommend this apartment complex to anyone, you will surely be treated the same way. ($230 gone) Look elsewhere. read more

I recently moved into Barrett Walk and love it. It is quite and well maintained which is exactly what I was looking for. Janelle, who works in the office and assisted me with my search and move in, has been great. I couldn't say enough good things about how helpful she has been - always on top of everything! The few little things that were on my move in list maintenance took care of immediately and went above and beyond what I had requested. I love my apartment and am very happy I made the decision to move to Barrett Walk! read more

This people are slick we live here right now we had to move from one unit to the next and they only gave us $500 for the move when it came time to sign papers they were saying that we here releasing them from all responsibility they are slick People we lost over $6000 on this deal and the agreement was that they would help with the move and that they would help with the rest of the items we lost so read this before trying to deal with people like this we can't wait for our lease to be over read more

THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!! RUN!! I moved into my unit 8 months ago Feb 2017 and two days later I reported my bug issue! Here it is October and the Problem still isn't solved! I reported the issue in Feb 2017 pest control came out a week later. I waited to see if that would help, it didn't. April I reported the issue again I spoke to Janelle explained to her the issue was getting worse and now the bugs were spreading. JANELLE told me that she would place me on a weekly pest control list and that pest control would come to my unit weekly, she asked if they had my permission to enter and I agreed that was fine. That was the end of that I thought things would get better. NO I WAS WRONG. Come to find out MS. Forgetful never put me on the weekly list... After having a 45 minute conversation with one of the maintenance man he tells me they don't offer a weekly pest control list!!! So while I waited the bug problem only continue to spread. So finally I speak with Erica, as I'm speaking with her she states she had the same bug problem and she suggested that I put bleach down all my drains and toilets. During this same conversation I ask her what other options do pest control offer, clearly the spray isn't working, she stated she would speak with the pest control company for more intense treatment. Pest control came back out I personally talked to him and he stated that I was placed on list as regular pest control and he hadn't spoken to Erica about my unit for any special concerns. I could go on but lets just skip to month 7 I still have the bug problem pest control requested that I clear my cabinets out for a special pest control, only to come in my home with the same materials they already "treated" my apartment with. I guess telling me to clear my cabinets was supposed to make me feel special! Now I'm in month 8 and the roach problem is still out of control. The office staff( the staff that hasn't quit).The only leasing agent they had left... So now we're stuck with the manager Erica who knows nothing about customer service! Shes rude, argumentative, and would rather play the blame game than solve the problem a resident is having. I no longer communicate with her via phone, she lies entirely to much, I keep every communication with her via email she's quick to state she didn't speak with you or she didn't say that.(paper trail), Janelle the assistant manager is very forgetful(if she spent less time talking on her personal cell phone or yelling conversations back and forth across the hall with her bestie Erica about personal matters that are far from work related) maybe she could focus on getting her daily duties completed in a timely manner. I will not be renewing my LEASE! And if my lease wasn't almost over I would pay my way out of it. Oh and for current residents don't wasted your time contacting Moguard Mgmt I'm still waiting (3weeks later) for a call back from the Regional Manager he has not returned any of my calls. Hopefully this review will get there attention but I'm sure the response will be from Erica she loves being argumentative and copying and pasting policy as her response! So unprofessional!
