From there, you can either walk across the street to the blueberry fields- or if it's wet (as it was when we were there), you can drive over to the back of the field where the blueberry plants are. This is a "you pick" operation, pick as few or as many as you want and out them in your bucket. When you're done picking, head back to where you picked up the bucket and they'll weigh them. When I was there it was $2 per pound- and my mostly full bucket came out to just under $10. They also have a few other blueberry-related and locally made goods for sale: we picked up the bourbon barrel aged maple syrup which I'm looking forward to trying. One note, it's cash only. And I couldn't tell You where the nearest ATM is, so best bring some cash with you.

There were knowledgeable staff around willing to answer any and all questions. The trailer was back up to the orchard frequently and we were able to head back down pretty much as soon as we wanted to. It was not nearly as crowded as other places we've been and we enjoyed that. Cute chickens running around was a bonus. Don't skip out on the warm, fresh apple cider donuts or a pint of cider - so yummy and a great way to end the day apple picking!

We walked to the patch and it was picked over pretty good. We saw bunch of guys in the field prior to opening to the public and perhaps picked them over pretty good. We stopped by the stand and they had massive strawberries!! We managed to fill our containers (none close to that quality) after awhile but seemed like every 3-4 plants one had a good medium size strawberry, most were tiny with a few rotten bigger ones and eaten/fungus mixed in. Got home and tried a few 'good' ones and they were very watery , not very flavorful. Prices were more than expected (internet research) and for the not so good quality of berries. First time strawberry picking, it looked like decent little farm just wish the berries were better and more plentiful. The ladies were nice. Might try another berry patch next time closer to home.

The event was already fully booked, but I easily found tickets available for the next scheduled tour at 10 AM. We were fortunate enough to have Kate as our tour guide. She is awesome! We all loved the tour and the animals. This is a place with purpose and we look forward to telling our friends and family all about it.
