    Apples, potatoes, pumpkins, and strawberries!
    Jean K.

You can't travel to NY in the fall without making time for apple picking. First of all, the apples are so super fresh that you will become an apple snob for life. There is nothing like a fresh, crisp, juicy apple on a sunny fall day. And, there are plenty of choices to suit your tastes whether you like sweet, or tart and tangy, or anywhere in between. It's a party for your mouth. You can get a ridiculous amount of fresh, crunchy apples for a super low price plus a little tiny bit of manual labor, if you can even call it that. The trees are dwarfs (please excuse my political incorrectness), so you only have to stretch a little bit once in a while to get the one that catches the twinkle in your eye. There are strawberries, pumpkins and potatoes, too, depending on when you visit. Overall, it's a great place to go when you need to get some fresh air and sunshine while getting a tiny bit of exercise. Plus, you'll land some fresh, crisp apples for bangin' apple sauce or pie.

My first raspberry picking ever and thanks to G&S I loved my first experience!!! This farm is huge and it has a variety of fruits to pick! The teenagers helping the stand that day were so sweet and well manner. I live too far from this farm but if I ever come to town to visit I would 100% come back here to pick whatever fruits they have in season.

This is my go-to spot every summer to pick pounds & pounds of blueberries at! ($3.75 per pound this season) It's easy to get to, staff is always very friendly and it's never too crowded in the patches. They have so many fruit options to choose from- and also a farm stand nearby if you aren't in the picking mood. Hoping to head back this fall to test out their apples!

We have been a member of G & S's CSA for several years now. We've always done their fruit share and dabbled in the veggie share. This year we did fruit, veggie, and the new greens share. As with any good CSA we're overwhelmed each week with produce! Quality of produce is top notch! We normally pick a few times a year although we haven't had time to go this year. I love the variety of items you can pick - from fruit and berries to potatoes and pumpkins.

Wrong hours. They close at 3

After 4 years of coming here we just had the worst experience, we showed up at 2:50 and approached to get buckets and the girls stated they were closing at 3. I asked if we could pick for 10 minutes since we drove for half hour and was told NO but I could purchase at the farm stand. My husband and I started walking to the farm stand and the Caucasian girl with brown curly hair ran after us repeating they were closed. We told her the hours on yelp and google indicated a closing time of 5:30 PM but we were actually walking to the farm stand. She said ok but then followed us to the farm stand and while we're waiting in line to buy she berated us about moving our car because they needed to close. We made our purchase and returned to the parking area and there were at least 15 other cars and families still picking or getting ready to leave so I'm not sure why she chose to follow us around. But it was the worst service and experience we have ever encountered especially because we have loved and supported this farm for so long.

Ask for the tray and fill them by the pint; it gave us a good idea of how many we were picking.

Wow great big flavorful blueberries - go to the last row - ask for the tray and fill them by the pint it gives you a good idea of how many you are buying.

However, if you're searching for something for them to do in the early summer because there's only so much a kid can play with a water table, picking strawberries isn't just fun and adorable, it's also useful and tasty. Gro-Moore is the spot. They make it simple, and get out of your way. Follow the hay bales labeled "U-Pick" to the parking area. Hop out, grab a couple containers if you didn't bring your own, pick strawberries from their abundant patches, pay, and be on your way. There are folks there picking giant baskets with $40 worth of strawberries, people like us grabbing a pint or two with the kids, and everything in between. It was already starting to get crowded around 10 am, so get there early to beat the heat and the crowds. The strawberries are obviously as fresh as can be, and amazingly tasty. Even better, the Gro-Moore folks are all sweethearts. It's a family biz, and everyone's got smiles for you and your kids. They don't even weigh your kids before and after, which would probably bring in a good amount of cash because I couldn't believe how many strawberries some of these children stuffed in their face.

I even hit them with a few random questions and BOOM, they had the answers. We did go a little later into the season so we were not able to pick all of their apples varieties, but I still went home with a bunch! Also, we had the opportunity to pick fresh raspberries. I WAS IN HEAVEN. I could have just done that and been a happy camper. I also picked a small pumpkin from their patch. I learned that the pumpkin patch location changes every 1-2 years. Its a good thing that it was in its lat year because there are plans for that space next year. Keep your eyes peeled people because next year there will be a Cidery opening up. As well as a place to hold parties/weddings! I am totally pumped to try their tasty ciders with all of their homegrown fruit! Their keeping it in the family as the owners daughter and son-in-law are the ones that will be running this place. There was also a maze, but i did not take the time to walk through it. Overall I did not see as many children attractions that you tend to see at apple farms, but I loved the mother daughter team and their passion and commitment to locally grown fruit and cider! I will be back!

I love Wickham farms!…read more I've been going here for 4 years and I feel like every year it gets busier (so that does definitely have a downside as the farm and parking lot get full), and they add more cute little things around the farm as well as more events. You're not allowed to bring any food or drinks in, but they now have enough food options that I think most could find something that works for them. The hot foods like burgers are pretty basic and remind me of school lunches, so they're a bit overpriced for what they are. The apple cider shakeups are the best though, and they also have great apple cider donuts and slushy. Highly recommend. Tickets are pretty expensive. If you're an adult without kids, it might be worth it to buy the full ticket pass (for apple picking and the fun farm area) once if you want to check it out, but in general I recommend buying the apple picking ticket only. You get to pick a bag of apples, take some cute pics in some of the areas set up for that purpose, and check out the pumpkins and the store, where you can buy the apple shakeup and donut. In the summer they also have flower picking events and the sunflower spectacular tickets which have also been a great time!

However, I bit the bullet and found the value($23.95 for barnyard tickets and $28.95 including apple picking) to be worthwhile as well as the selection of activities for all ages to be enjoyable. To every member of the staff that we approached, they were all very kind and informative. We got to enjoy the apple cider donuts, apple cider, pumpkin smash, and the ride to the apple orchards. We were surprised to see an event where they drop a large pumpkin high above ground, but it was very cool to watch (and wondered if this was because this was their last weekend of opening!)
