I called Barten Bros. to have them remove a fenced in pen that held scrap lumber. On April 10 Alex and Leon visited and assessed that project and investigated two other projects that needed attention. Alex agreed to send me a proposal with each item itemized and a bundled price. Today is May 30 and I never heard from them again although I called twice. If they didn't want the job, they just should have said so. I wouldn't be offended. The people that we purchased our home from left an entire garage full of garbage that we did not know about as we closed remotely. Andrew Barten and his team handled the removal and clean up of the property. The are so very reasonably priced and efficient! Andrew is a veteran and that means so much to me but his real super power is his trustworthiness and moral compass! Easy five stars. Dealing with Dawn on the phone was easy, communication and updates were great. Alex and another guy (I didn't catch his name) came early and were a pleasure to deal with. We had random junk in the garage and in a closet which they took care of, including an old crib and other garbage. They also cleared out another little storage area that had old leftover insulation, flooring, and a couple buckets of paint. The main thing for us though, was the elliptical in the basement. I asked a couple of other companies in the past to take the elliptical, but there was always a challenge. In any event, Alex and the other man just took off the arms and carried the whole thing up the basement stairs and out in minutes. Price was fair and relatively cheaper than another company I used for similar volume of stuff in my memory. In fact, the final price was cheaper than the original quote Alex gave me, good move! Speed and efficiency was amazing too. Let me put it this way, Dawn told me they would arrive sometime between 8-10am. They came earlier probably around 7:20am (with a text warning), and were out by 8:06am. read more

Saw how careful the men were in removing my trash, so I asked if they could move furniture in my home. They disassembled/reassembled and patiently dealt with placing exactly where I wanted. Took pictures and mirrors down and re-hung where I needed. Always careful! Just did an outstanding job. Highly recommend. Will definitely use them again. read more

I called Barten Brothers for the removal of a concrete (gunite) in-ground pool because they were highly recommended by a good friend. The pool had been improperly constructed and the pool builder had agreed to remove the pool and reimburse me for the cost. I provided the woman at Barten who handled my two initial phone calls (Raven) with a very detailed description of the pool (length, width, wall thickness, extent of steel reinforcement and even the total cubic yards of concrete to be removed) and explicitly described the gunite pool, as well as the fact that there was unencumbered access to the pool. She provided me with a written quote/unsigned contract which I then passed on to the pool builder, who agreed to pay that amount. When I called back shortly thereafter to retain Barten Brothers for the work, and spoke again to Raven, amazingly she expressed surprise that it was a concrete pool and stated that the quote she had provided was for a vinyl liner pool. I then politely explained the legal situation they had put me in, and she stated that one of the guys would get back to me. No one ever called me back. I repeatedly called and could not get a single return phone call. I am not in the habit of discrediting a business, but I would caution anyone who considers doing business with these people to think twice, and if you do, make sure you speak to someone who listens and records what you tell them. I am assuming that it was a simple error but the subsequent lack of professionalism on their part speaks volumes and denied me the opportunity to find out what really happened (i.e. a come-on or a simple mistake). We really cannot say enough about the job that Barton Brothers did for us. We needed to haul away a sofa and loveseat, but thought we would look around the house and see what else needed to go. Our list was long and included a piano and a heavy metal water tank; located from basement to attic. The two-member crew assessed the job and called for two additional movers. Truly amazing service! My daughter's car was completely plowed in after the recent snow storm and seemed impossible to shovel out.
