Once she took over, the issues and claims that were once denied were approved. After almost a year of dealing with our homeowners insurance company, because of the Altadena Eaton Fires, and being shuffled between more than eight different insurance adjusters, we were ready to give up and just accept what they were willing to give us. To make matters worse, we had been living in temporary housing which added to constant struggles dealing with our insurance company. Insurance company adjusters are not going to tell you everything that you are entitled to and what you should look into. It had been a constant flow of denial emails informing us that they would not cover many repairs regardless of health or safety concerns. Insurances companies can sometime be the worst entities to deal with when you fall victim to a disaster. One does not realize that you need someone looking out for your best interest. What a mistake to think that we could navigate this catastrophe on our own. Dounya and her team have the professionalism and expertise to handle the intricacies of your insurance claim. Caution using Benie Khan with VA Home Loan Centers, and anyone connected with VA Home Loan Center…read more Our office has reached out to other people besides Benie over 6 times within the VA Home Loan Center, but now the emails and phone calls are unanswered. In the appraisal industry, Veterans getting VA loans are supposed to pay the lender for the appraisal before the lender schedules an appraisal. Lenders are responsible to release the funds to the appraiser when the work is completed, or a percentage of the fee can be paid if circumstances dictate it. After inspecting a particular property for the requested appraisal, Benie talked with me days later on the phone and requested that the remaining appraisal report work stop. However, she said that she would pay the fee for cancelled appraisals which is 50% of the full appraisal fee as long as I sent an invoice. However, after years of invoicing, she still refuses to pay anything. The VA office is aware of this and assisted me in requesting payment over and over again, because we have our inspection report of the property for their review and we have requested the allowed 50% fee. This payment issue was cause for creating a case with the VA, which will remain permanently on file with them. The VA office advised us to report this business to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau and follow up with using a collections company if the negative CFPB complaint doesn't motivate them to pay. Hopefully we will be able to edit this Yelp review at some point and assure future clients that Benie Khan, with VA Home Loan Center is now paying VA appraisers for the work done.
