I learned a lot about the trees on my property from the certified arborist who came out first. The crew that followed cut down a tree that was half dead and trimmed an absolutely huge oak in my front yard. They ground down the stump so you almost wouldn't know a tree had ever been there. They left an appropriate amount of saw dust and chips on top so that when the ground settles there will not be a hole. They left the yard spotless. The job was done in a reasonable amount of time. I could tell they valued their workers and treated them very respectfully. I noticed the workers shut down at appropriate times for hydration breaks and lunch. Outside of those times they were in constant motion. They followed all of the safety precautions that were appropriate. Great company, great service! read more

Bartlett Tree Experts was recommended by a friend who works at an historical site in Alexandria, Virginia. I had two magnolias that had extensive damage from the wet snow during a snow event in January. I wasn't sure there would be much left of my beautiful magnolias after all the broken branches were removed. But...Bartlett did an amazing job. There are some obvious bare spots that should fill in eventually. So their work is amazing. I contacted Bartlett via email. I received a pretty quick reply and set up an appointment for an estimate. Todd came out and I had the estimate within a day or so. It took a little while to finalize a date to do the work. Bartlett is good, but I don't think they can control the weather. I was a little anxious when Todd said he would not be on site for the job. However, the three guys that came out were indeed "knowledgeable" as Todd had assured me. They didn't seem to have a problem with me asking questions and made sure I was happy with the final result. A short time after I received a call from the office at Bartlett to make sure things went well. Seriously, who gives that kind of customer service anymore? The price was reasonable for the quality of the work they did. Plus, at 64, neither me nor my husband were going to climb up a 30 foot magnolia to remove broken branches. read more

I have lived in the same home for 19 years and love the trees and bushes on my property, and also consider them an investment. Bartlett Tree Experts has assisted me with caring for them with great results. The area I live in has had various tree issues over the years, such as a bacteria that can kill big, previously healthy oak trees, and Bartlett Tree Experts helped me save the gorgeous one on my property and the ones on the neighbors right around me (we coordinated our effort.) I live at the end of a half-mile long street and I've seen the oak trees die along the street where neighbors didn't fight the bacteria. I have a number of maple trees of different varieties and ages (planted some in the first few years I lived here and added another one about 5 years ago.). All are doing wonderfully. In addition to the trees being so healthy, everyone I've interacted with at Bartlett has been no pleasant to work with and caring about customer service. They may be experts, but they're not dependable. I met with their representative in July to schedule a tree removal and pruning services for mid-November. After receiving their estimate I contacted them to set up a date and their representative said he would schedule the appointment for 20 November. A week before the date I called to reconfirm the appointment. The receptionist said the appointment was only approximate and she could not say what day they would actually arrive to perform the work. I said I had locked down the date with their representative more than three months previously because I am the primary care giver for my wife. I arranged our calendar for her medical appointments around the previously agreed service date. I even slipped the date for my own cancer biopsy to accommodate the date previously agreed with Bartlett. The receptionist said she would contact the representative with whom I'd set up the appointment. After waiting most of a day for her to call me back I finally called their office and the receptionist told me she had reached the representative and he said he "forgot" to schedule the service appointment. I wonder if had I not taken the initiative to contact Bartlett they would have called me to tell me they "forgot" to schedule the service call. I also wonder if I "forgot" to pay the bill for their services whether they would likewise fail to follow up. If you need tree service you can depend upon I don't recommend you contact this Bartlett office, and I'm only giving them one star as a rating because I can't give them a zero star rating. read more
