Even upon describing the services required, how big the place is, etc. he couldn't provide a quote. Then had the gall to ask me to name a price. Not only did they make that schedule work, when I asked to also have the back patio cleaned out, there was no problem. Because we have never spoken to Abdull before I was trying to give him instructions over text message. He wanted $275 to clean a one bedroom apartment. He was clearly gouging me on the price because I needed it last minute. When my wife asked me to text to tell him to please mind the woodwork he abruptly cancelled leaving me without a cleaner at the last second. I called to plea with him and he pushed me to voicemail. After leaving me in the lurch he returned to say he will clean, but added that there better not be any trouble when it comes to making payment. That's when I decided to check his Yelp reviews. I had a pretty bad experience with BAS Cleaning Company. I had 6 hours on a Saturday evening after the movers left to do a thorough move-out clean, and my usual cleaners couldn't accommodate me. I saw the good reviews for BAS on Yelp. Abdul was friendly and flexible, working around my schedule to stop by and give a quote - $225 for a full, thorough cleaning of an empty three-story rowhome, which I felt was reasonable especially when he said he would have a crew of people. Come Saturday night, he and one other person showed up late and said they'd had several people cancel on them. By this point, I had to leave to drop off the moving truck to the storage facility - about 2 hours after they showed up he said they were done. I was surprised that two people could have done the whole job in that time, and (stupidly) I didn't do a thorough check of the place before I paid. (It was late, and I was exhausted after a full day of moving). I saw a few stains on the wood floor, but I figured I could deal with those myself. The kitchen appliances looked very clean. Honestly, after I looked over the whole house I thought I may have been scammed. The floors on every level and the basement were still covered with stains, plaster, and dust and several shelves and closets were completely untouched and still covered in a layer of dust. I can see that there was a cursory sweep done, but the floors were still incredibly dirty. Like, big brown sticky stains, etc. that came off very easily once they were wiped (by me). By this time it was 10 PM and so I spent three hours after they left using what I had on hand in my car after the move - paper towels, rubbing alcohol, and half a bottle of hand soap - to literally hand-mop three stories of wood floors and shelves. I was still worried my leasing company was not going to give me the security deposit back. I've used many cleaning services and companies in my life and have never had this bad of an experience before. The direct interactions were pleasant, but I regret hiring them. read more

I highly recommend BAS. We needed the house cleaned top-to-bottom, and Abdul came through right away. Very reasonably priced, and most importantly, did a fantastic job. There were a few small places that were missed--for example, someone in the kitchen didn't clean a few parts that we expected (e.g., the stovetop). This kind of oversight was minor though and 99% of the house was thoroughly cleaned. It's very rare to find a cleaning company that has attention to detail, but Abdul does. He cleaned the smallest things you wouldn't expect--a stain in a hidden spot by a door; a scuff on a baseboard. He is very, very good. After my husband broke his collarbone, I was in search of an affordable cleaning crew, local owned, bonded and insured. I found BAS on yelp and decided to try them out. Abdoul was extremely polite and responsive. We negotiated a fair price, which i personally found refreshing for a small business. They did have to reschedule our first cleaning because there were not enough crew available but he notified me in advance. The first cleaning was a deep cleaning. The crew arrived on time, and were very friendly. I was not completely satisfied with the cleaning, so Abdoul sent one of his crew out to correct the problems the same evening, which I appreciated. We are planning to use them for bi-weekly cleaning, and he gave me a discount on the price he originally quoted me. They are more used to cleaning completely empty homes ahead of move ins etc. So Abdoul suggested I give them a list of all the things I wanted done. I am happy to do this to ensure I get the results I am looking for. I believe in local businesses, good customer service, and am happy to give second chances when I feel I am being treated fairly and with respect. The two women who cleaned my apartment for me did a wonderful job - my bathroom and kitchen were spotless. However, when Abdul stopped by to give me a quote he told me that they would be able to clean my floor and under my cabinets, (the only thing I really wanted done) and they did not do a very good or thorough job of that. After the renovation of our condo, we wanted extensive cleaning service. Since most of the cleaning companies were booked up due to upcoming 4th of July holiday, we went with BAS. The price was definitely better than many other cleaning services. $140 for cleaning of our 1br 1ba unit, including interior windows. $60 for shampooing of bedroom carpet. My overall opinion is that you get what you pay for. 3 cleaners worked for 2hrs, plus 0.5hr for shampooing carpet. My wife left a list of instructions for the cleaners. When she came back home, some things were not done (dirty glassware, cabinet interior). But the cleaners were very nice and cleaned up those things immediately after my wife asked. Communication was not great, but overall service is good if you want to save money. read more

Used BAS cleaning to get a bathroom and a common room in an off-campus house cleaned up. I spoke with the owner over the phone a few weeks prior to the scheduled date and we firmed things up via text. I had to change the date (twice) and they were super flexible. They were a litle late to our scheduled time but trying to get around Philly is difficult and they checked in with me to let me know. The three women who came to the house were very friendly. Called them to clean new apartment. the tenant living before me left it unclean. CAme back to see that the previous tenant's hair was still stuck on the bathroom walls, the metal shelves still dirty. The owner comes and says he would prefer I leave while him and his team cleans. I explained to him I need the place scrubbed because the tenant who lived before me left this place in an unclean condition. I came back, found hair still stuck on walls and dirt still stuck, it seemed like they just used lysol wipes and couldnt even clean properly with those, let alone using a scrubber and some chemical bleach stuff to scrub. I wanted to give some used dishes to BAS owners workers. I called him and asked if his workers left, before even listening to what I had to say, the owner started saying BS "we did what we could blah blah" total defensive mode. People tend to get this way when they know they over charged you for the work POORLY done. HE comes and sees how dirty thing was left, takes another lysol wipe and wipes it. He has no sense of customer care, he is temperamental, I just left it alone instead of asking him to actually go SCRUB the bathroom off the hair stuck on their from previous tenant. The owner needs to go back to the business school and learn how to handle customers and learn to do fair business. read more
