A nice place to eat lunch or a quick pizza. They have a reasonably priced lunch menu - their "plat…read moredu jour" (lunch plate) is around 9€50 (pretty inexpensive for the area) and is generally a decent deal. The restaurant is located in a pedestrian-only street a half-block (50m?) from the main artery of the town (so it's fairly calm). There is a pretty large outdoor "terrace" under an awning, surrounded by bushes in planters, giving a nice, covered, relaxing place to enjoy lunch when the weather is nice(although smoking is allowed outside). Their pizzas are pretty damn good - they are "Italian style" (very thin crust, with tomato sauce and cheese and just a few sparse toppings). From memory, they are 11€50 for up to 3 toppings, your choice. Toppings are ham, prociutto, extra (strong & smelly) cheeses, mushrooms, bacon, etc. I've never been very impressed by their non-pizza menu items - not bad, but nothing to write home about (compared to other restaurants in the area - much better than your average $20 american restaurant not in NY or SF or Seattle or D.C.). A great place to grab a pizza for lunch, with a glass or two of wine without breaking the budget.

When my wife and I are spending a couple weeks in a small town on vacation, we like to find a go-to…read morerestaurant that we can enjoy over and over again. In our time in Voiron, La Trattoria has been that restaurant. During our first 1-1/2 weeks in Voiron, we have had four meals at this restaurant. Every meal was exceptional. The pizzas are out of this world and the salads are delightful. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. However, the best part of La Trattoria is how warm the staff and patrons have been to a couple of Americans who can barely speak French. Upon entering the restaurant we are greeted as old friends. When you are thousands of miles of home, this is a wonderful feeling. I wish I could transplant this restaurant back in my hometown of Portland, Oregon.
