Only reason I'm giving this place one star is because I can't give it ZERO stars! I stopped at this store in Utica NY to look at their selection of extreme cold weather coats. I tried a mess if them on, and found one that I liked, but wasn't in love with. I took a picture of the tags on the jacket, so I could remember the make, model, and price of the item. Fast forward a couple weeks, and I was passing through the same area, and had decided that I was going to purchase the jacked I had previously looked at. It's a PIA to get off the highway and circumvent the maze of streets and over passes to get to the store. So, I pull into the parking lot and went in, while my wife sat in the car. It took a while to find an "associate" that might be able to help me. I ended up finally finding the jacket myself, but was stunned when I looked at the price tag and saw that they had taken a price sticker and covered over the original $199.00 price with a $239.00 sticker. So I told the lady that was standing there, that I KNOW they had raised the price since I was there a couple weeks prior, by stocking a higher price tag OVER the lower price tag! The sales "associate" said " Well, if you're not a club member, you can join and save $30.00". I said "I would STILL be paying MORE than I should be, AND I DON'T want to join your club!" So the sales "associate" called a "manager" over, and I proceeded to tell her about their shady practices I caught, and showed her the picture of the tag with the lower price on it. She tried to tell me "Well, they might have had the wrong price on them when they came in".... She refused to honor the $199.00 price, so I told her forget it, NOT shopping here ever again. read more

We only came here to waste time and show our dog the aquarium so I felt it would be unfair to give anything lower than a 5 considering we weren't actually shopping. The store was very clean and exactly what you would expect at a typical Bass Pro. Unlike its Auburn location, this one is only one story but still spacious enough to move around. The aquarium was cute and had a ton of fish, my dog seemed to like it. We perused the kayaks but most look like they are mainly for fishing rather than leisurely trips on the water. read more

Stay away from the gun counter unless you have an hour+ of your day to waste. Happened multiple times. Was much quicker to call the 1-800 # to get my refund on the gun I purchased and was trying to pick up. Pretty sure they follow the NYS DMV business model. read more

We purchased a new boat and paid in full last July. There were some issues with cracks in the fiberglass so we dropped it off on September 6 for what was promised would take no longer than 2 weeks to fix. It is now May of the next year and we are still without our boat! Apparently they couldn't fix ours so had to order us a new one. The order went in before Thanksgiving and the new boat was finally delivered to them late April but now there is some new issue, they won't tell us what, and we have not been allowed to pick it up. The store itself is great. However, the repair service department needs a lot of work. Wait time is unbelievable, when it does get looked at, a band aide is put on it and they call it good. now we have to trust them to fix it right...... read more

No one asked to help, after making several trips around store. Checkout counter, lady was criticizing other employee on how they were trained, then rolled attitude over to us as we checked out. Where do i begin with the upset with tracker 300. Dropped off for transmission issue in July making a grinding and clunking noise. Picked up the middle of Aug just to ride for 20 minutes top then right back to the grinding and clunking noise. Back to the service department first week of Sept. and since been getting the run around. Told that the fluids all got changed to now being told that's not the case. They have my second one also that just started making a clunking noise and was told that one is almost done last week to this week it hasn't been in the shop yet and have its service performed. Very upset with all the back and forth. read more

I purchased a tracker pontoon from this location, sales had a few promotions going on at the time such as a $750gift card which I was planning on spending for safety equipment for the boat and occupants. After purchase was complete, I had all of the papers in hand and went to town buying up at least $500 worth of safety gear. At the counter, I told them that I would like to apply my gift certificate towards it but they couldn't find me in their system. After going back and forth with sales, they told me that I would receive my certificate in email. So I just paid for the equipment outright and decided to let it go. After waiting a couple weeks and nothing showing up in email. I called them and asked what the problem was. Come to find out they had my email typed in wrong. So once again I am patient, a few weeks go by and still nothing. I call again, and they blamed corporate. So as I continued to wait, I received a call from them asking to take a picture of the title. As I looked at the title, I realized they forgot to put a Lein on it since I financed it. So I figured I can get my gift certificate finally because they request that I send them the title back. I requested the promised promotional $750 gift certificate in exchange. I figured things would go smoothly now. They had some excuses to why I didn't get it, mainly blaming corporate and said that I should receive it by the next day. Never happened again, so I told them I wouldn't send them anything until I receive it. Long story short, I was called from them consistently once or twice every week for over a month or two, and they consistently said they sent it, but I never received it, then they claimed they sent it in the mail to my address and it would take 2 weeks to get there, after waiting another 2 weeks, nothing. Although I did receive an envelope from them that with a return envelope for the title. I know they have my correct address at that point. I decided to just send the title to them without the certificate. After receiving it, they called me and asked if my address is still the same and said thank you for sending the title, and I asked the status of the gift certificate, at this point once again "looks like they sent it and you should have it by the end of the week. It's the end of the week, just opened the mailbox and of course without a surprise it's not here. They told me at least 3 times within the month that they sent it and I'll be receiving within the week. If you offer promotions to make a sale, honor the deal. In this case, this is just bad business, false advertising and lots of clumsiness. read more
