I have a 2001 BMW 740iL that I am very fond of, Loren has been repairing it for the last twenty (20) years. He even came up with a name for it.... bulletproof. I truly believe if I had been taking my car to another mechanic I would've been told it is beyond repair and should be junked. Among other numerous issues, the car had a leak around the windshield, whenever there was heavy rain, water would pour in on both the driver and passenger side. Thinking it was beyond repair I let it sit for more than six (6) months. Loren also provides maintenance on my 750LI. One day when picking up the 750 I mentioned the issues with the 740, he suggested I bring it in. I was embarrassed because of the mold and mildew that had accumulated over the entire interior of the car. It was terrible like something from a horror movie. An enormous task and after having to dismantle the sunroof, surrounding mold and trim he found where the leak was coming from. Delivering exceptional customer service, he sent me a video of the leak and explained the process to fix it. I want to insert the video, but I don't know how When I picked my car up it did not look the same. He had it detailed inside and out, the mold and mildew was completely gone. I brought it in to Haseleu's Transmission, and they ended up recommending I have Ward's diagnose the issue--as at first appearances it seemed to be an issue more on the electrical side. I brought it in to Ward's, and they were able to carefully track down the issue. Once they figured it out they carefully explained the issue so that I understood the problem and then their recommended plan of action. At that point they did not pressure me at all, but told me if at all uncertain about what way to proceed to not rush it and to take some time to think about it before deciding what to do. They wanted me confident and satisfied in the decision before making it and were fine discussing and researching different possibilities. Then, when an unexpected family emergency came up with one of their founders and they needed to pass the work back to Haseleu's to actually do they completely and absolutely refused to charge me for all the diagnostic work and time spent explaining things. When's the last time you felt you owed a mechanic something and he wouldn't take it? There are some first rate people and techicians there with integrity. Their warranty is also unparalleled... I plan to go back there for anything out of my do-it-yourself skill range, and would encourage you to do so as well.
