Not a good experience!!! After my sister had a stroke this year, this was the 2nd facility she was…read moretransferred to after experiencing horrible service and catching COVID 19 virus at the first facility (Colonial Nursing Home). She was sent to Nottingham because it was the facility that accepted COVID patients. My sister bounced back and forth between the hospital and facilities and my family and I are horrified by the lack of care, number 1 and number 2, the lack of professionalism. Im sorry to say that I was almost more relieved when my sister did have to return to the hospital for further care! This experience is a first for my family and has been a total NIGHTMARE!! Once we found out that my sister would be released to Nottingham, my family and I decided to call the facility to find out what to expect prior to my sisters arrival. After the horrible service we received from the first facility, , we learned to start asking more questions. I was told by a student staff member who does a great job answering the phone MOST TIMES (I won't say any names), (1) that we'd receive regular weekly video calls with our family member. (2) Each room would have a phone so we could stay in contact with our family member... along with some other broken promises. NONE OF IT HAPPENED!! My family was trying to quaterback all of this from the state of Texas unfortunately. I know that the home health care industry is generally a "lazy" industry, but COVID made it much easier for these nursing home employees to get away with this extreme foul behavior that they would never allow nor want for their own family. The process of having a member of your family needing a nursing home is ALREADY stressful enough, along with managing the medical issues that plagues your loved one. I would call to talk to my sister and would either be hung up on, no one answered the facilities phone, or they would lie to you to get you off the phone saying they would "get someone to help". I literally called this facility twice a day for 5 days -ON PURPOSE- and never got to speak to my sister. The last day of those 5 days, the nurse that answered the phone basically told me my sister "didn't want to talk to me"! THIS was the day I started really focusing my efforts on GETTING MY SISTER THE HELL OUT OF THIS PLACE... AND STATE FOR THAT MATTER!! I cant tell you what was going on in the facility, but if I have to assume that it was anything like what my family and I experienced over the past 6 mos (4 mos at Nottingham Rehab Facility) then I'm sure my guess would be that my sister received the below minimum required care in this place. The final straw for my family and I were the "alleged" sexual misbehavior towards my sister. Once we made a plan and decided to get my sister home, I called the facility THREE (3) weeks in advance to ask them to help us come up with a plan. I asked them for a medication supply, some medical equipment and any notes they could provide for us while we takeover providing care for my sister. I had to end up going to the director of nursing to get help with that (and that's ALL I'll say about that). I was told to speak with the facilities social worker and nurse practitioner (won't mention those names). The social worker was supposed to help us order necessary equipment that would assist us in caring for my sister in the meantime. The nurse practitioner agreed to call in her supply of medicines. I was initially told the equipment would be coming in a few days (this was week 1 of 3). Week 2 and 3 comes and the equipment NEVER came. I checked each week to get an updated status because I needed to gauge what type of vehicle would be required to carry out the transfer of my sister, her things and this equipment. The Friday before I was scheduled to pick my sister up, I was called by the social worker and told the equipment COULDN'T be delivered due to medicaid rules that states Medicaid ONLY sends out ordered equipment ONLY AFTER the patient is discharged. AND that one of the most needed items wouldn't be coming AT ALL. They told me that they could provide us with the wheelchair she's been using to send home with her to remedy the issue. I GUESS WE HAVE NO CHOICE AT THIS POINT.

This facility has only four handicapped parking spaces. Their employees like front row parking so…read morethey take every single handicapped space available, therefore leaving no handicapped parking available for the senior adults with limited mobility that are coming to visit loved ones in the facility. Employees even park in the blue stripe loading area for wheelchairs and wheelchair ramps. One employee goes as far as to place a traffic cone in "Her" designated handicapped space when she leaves the facility. This has been brought to the administrators attention on two separate occasions. The first time I reached out, he told me that he would address the issue. The problem persisted, so I reached out a second time. The second time that I reached out, I never even received a followup email. I think that it is very selfish for the employees to take every single handicapped space away for those that truly need close parking due to limited mobility. When you walk in the door, you realize why they took the front row parking. Most (not all) of the employees are continuing to sit on their rear ends while on their phones and chatting with other employees.

For example, they didn't feed her, they didn't bath her or give her med on time. My mom accidentally knocked over a cold drink early in the morning around 7:00am and didn't clean it up tell 12:30 in the afternoon. My mom blanket was stolen and they did gave us an explanation to what happened to it.My mom had the same bed clothes on for three straight days. They don't change the bed sheets at all. They do not like to change my mom when she has bowel movements. They don't bath her properly. My mom doctor gave the nurses specific protocols and procedures to follow and the nurses refuse to follow the directives. I would not recommend this Nursing Home Facility to anyone who wants the best Home Health Care for their loved one.

I reported her and had her removed from working with my husband. The CNAs are ok. Some are trifling though. Ms. Laterral was magnificent. The food is disgusting! The company that provides the food says the menu was suggested by the higher ups. It's a total waste. The people are always hungry. I literally had to purchase breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. It's a decent facility overall even the doctors offices however some people still seem as if they are finding their way. No real structure. I had numerous complaints about minute stuff. The day shift was good but that night shift would make you hurt them especially the CNAs. They would bust in the room and turn on all the lights just to dump garbage or write on the dry erase board at 4am. People are sleeping. I would say if you have someone to be treated there, stay with them. It's not bad but it could be better. House keeping rarely came but it is because there is only one house keeper and she had death in here family plus a broken foot during my husband's time there.
