My other cat is easier, and when dealing with a recent issue, staff once again treated her with care and explained everything to me, offering suggestions and explaining everything along the way. Costs were kept as low as possible, but tests and meds were needed. They made sure I was aware and ready for it. Just an absolutely phenomenal group there, and my little left purring away in relaxation.

My cat's vet (Dr. S) left recently, and I think that has been the worst decline I've seen so far. His new vet made a joke about putting me on SSRIs to help me deal with my cat's conditions, for example. I can't seem to get prescriptions filled or approved in a timely manner. They refuse to let me fill anything at Chewy anymore, making the excuse that the dosing from Chewy would make it harder to adjust his meds... we have never adjusted his meds without a full (and very expensive) exam. And now today, I'm sitting here waiting to hear from them about my cat's meds. He's been out because they were delayed in shipping. I was promised I would receive a call yesterday morning at the latest. I still haven't heard from them. I see plenty of positive reviews about dogs, so maybe bring your dog there. Sadly, they don't seem to care about my cat. After speaking with Brittany, their office manager, earlier today and bringing these concerns to her attention, she informed me that she had only called to confirm my phone number and then sent me an email "ending the veterinary-client relationship". Apparently this person is the manager of multiple clinics, so it seems that her attention must be spread a little thin because I had already informed her of the issue with the other vet. Clearly they didn't investigate it, so now the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine will.

We have leaned on Capital Heights for pretty much everything you can ask a vet to do - spaying, neutering, vaccinations and annual checkups, flea and heart worm medicine, and even emergencies - and they have never let us down. Capital Heights Vet recently moved, ironically, from Capital Heights to Goodwood, but the service has only improved with the relocation, which brought along much of the same staff from the older place. The new building is clean and bright and spacious, things the old one definitely lacked. Once their exercise yard is finished, we are looking forward to moving our boarding and daycare here too so we don't have to synchronize shot records among three different vets. I've had all kinds of experiences with veterinarians who are judgmental, opinionated, or downright aloof, but if there's one word I would use to describe Capital Heights, it's "friendly."

The guy that came in the room thought the situation was funny( that should have been a sign for me to leave at that moment but it was after hours so I stayed). After her procedure, I received a phone call at work from the hospital explicitly stating that the surgery went well and she was ready for pickup, However, when I arrived at the facility to retrieve her, the staff informed me that she had woken up delirious and passed away.Due to the sudden nature of her death and the conflicting reports from the staff, I sought an independent third-party necropsy (animal autopsy). The official necropsy report confirmed that my furbaby did not die from the trauma of the dog attack; she died from acute heart failure while under their care. My fur baby was a healthy 2year old, update on all her medication.Please be aware of the communication and monitoring practices at this facility before trusting them with an emergency or surgical procedure. If you love your fur baby and don't want your family(especially your kids)to go through the heart ache and pain, PLEASE DONT USE THEM!!
