We used them for a very difficult job between two historic homes we own. They were amazing. We got many quotes and they were the least expensive while being licensed/bonded. We definitely made the right decision using them. They removed several HUGE old trees safely without any damage to my personal house that has a tile roof. The other one we knew would have some roof damage due to position of tree. This tree was huge and they had to cut it trunk by trunk by hand and lowered with ropes. {To the reviewer below with low rating, they repaired your issue- why give them such a low rating? I did not put too much into that review- you seem ridiculous. } A tiny edge of the roof next door was hit by part of that tree (a miracle it was not more due to this huge tree) and they promptly had it repaired. We actually found out about another very old hole in the roof thanks to them. We were able to get it repaired too by their roofer(who we also liked). They even came back quickly during a busy time for them when one of the trees we tried to save had unknown termite damage inside it and cracked. That was a Saturday! They are awesome. My husband is 30 year construction project manager, watched them, and he says they are legit. In fact, he was such a fan- he wanted to work with them "for fun" on the weekend. Lol, I said NO, not happening. I will recommend them to everyone. They towed off all the mess, except parts my hubby wanted for firewood. read more

Excellent local business! I recently hired Battiste for a difficult job cutting trees hanging over my house. They not only were extremely skilled in removing the trees without incident, they adeptly dealt with a nuanced situation with my neighbor who's property had to be accessed and his trees cut down. Battiste made sure we were all happy in the end. In the biggest recommendation I can make, I immediately hired them for a second job at another property. They delivered more than promised, were honest, and even alerted me to another issue outside the purview of what they were doing just to be good neighbors. Excellent company. I was temporary living out of state and needed some work done at my house. It was important to me that the company be local, reasonably priced and trustworthy to get the job done right the first time. Harold met me onsite and we agreed on services and a construction date. Battiste cancelled twice due to faulty equipment. This was my first red flag however I wanted to honor the deal I had made - things happen. Battiste eventually was able to cut the trees (near the end of my tenant's term) and while doing so - cut through the main power line to my house. He phoned me, apologized and indicated he had "checked everything out" and that the stove and microwave needed to be replaced in the kitchen (which he did replace). He followed up with a request for payment and an agreement that if the work wasn't satisfactory upon my return, that he would come back out. About two weeks later, I contacted Battiste regarding the property. There was one tree still remaining that was included within the estimate as well as other work that had not been completed. Additionally, my neighbor (unbeknownst to me until after the fact), removed all tree debris and disposed of the material himself. The labor and cost should have been removed from the bill estimate prior to payment and it was not. At add additional injury, my new tenants complained about the washer and dryer, the repairman stated the whole wiring harness was melted and that we were lucky a fire hadn't started. He said it was due to a power surge of some kind. Of course, I called Battiste back a third time and his secretary indicated it was due to a lightening storm. No way this happened. If you do decide to use these guys, be present at the site the whole time and do not pay a dime until the job is done right. To date, Battiste has not reimbursed me the difference for work not completed and has made zero attempts to finish removing the remaining stumps/trees that were agreed upon for payment. read more
