While it's challenging physically, I always leave feeling very empowered and encouraged. If it is your first time or even first 15 times going I recommend taking the "Starter50" or "Foundation50" class. There are very precise movements included in the classes and in order to prevent injury or feeling overwhelmed, it's probably best to familiarize yourself with the Reformer machine and typical movements included in Pilates. The class is typically representative of the diversity in Philadelphia and there are people of many different body sizes/shapes and fitness levels present. The instructors have always introduced themselves to me and asked (in a non-threatening or embarrassing way) if I need modifications. I do not feel overwhelmed or judged during class which is something I am very critical of in a studio. If you're on the fence about trying I highly recommend! Just know that you're gonna be sore for a week after your first time!!

Overall a good place to work out with the option to get a protein shake afterward. I wish there…read morewas more space and more machines to work out on because sometimes you'll find that two people are waiting for a machine before you get there. A lot of Temple students fill the gym during the afternoon, around 3 pm and onward. The parking situation is also another headache, it is limited to two hours with the threat of towing and is located a slight walk away. No on-site parking.

Retro fitness is a great gym if you go between 10-4 and not while they have classes. There is a…read morewide variety of equipment and machinery that you can use like squat racks, bench presses, isolation machines, cardio stuff, free weights, etc. That's if you go between those times. If you don't - good luck with that! After everyone gets home from work the gym is a mad house. Around 6 there are so many people you can hardly get a workout in sometimes, forget about doing the exercises you came there to do. The combination of the large variety of machines but few of each, huge amount of people, and limited space make it sometimes impossible to get on all of the machines and equipment you came for. For example, there are three stair masters. Now there are two because one has been broken for over a month (full disclosure: they did put up a sign saying they are working on it). Those are some popular machines! You literally have to wait behind them and hope the person on them gets off so you can get on it during peak hours. It can be pretty frustrating when your leg day has to turn into back day because hulk hogan won't get off the squat rack. That said, the people who lift there are all pretty experienced. I see a lot of athletes from different universities and body builders, both men and women. One time someone came over and helped me with my squat form. That was really nice of him. Unfortunately, that kind of setting can be intimidating for some people (like my gf). I think that's silly though. I did the trial of small group fitness classes. It kicked my butt! Great workout for sure. But the trainer sees me around the gym all the time and never says hello. I'm not feeling the love. The rest of the staff often yells to each other really loudly. Some trainer was yelling for no reason, just talking LOUDLY, with her clients during my workout today. It was really distracting and annoying. I don't need to hear your conversation from the other side of the gym. I think it's unprofessional. To be honest I'd leave the gym but they have me stuck in a year contract. I need a gym that I can rely on for a good workout, working machines, and good service!

I'm going to start this with saying if you want ghetto and not organized! BABY fill out an…read moreapplication to live there. I'm so disgusted to even give this place ANY STARS! From the maintenance men trying to run in and out of people houses at 8PM to catch up on back work because their manager allows people to do what they want until her manager ties down on her because the state is coming and they don't want to get anything docked off of their audit! I just truly don't know where to start!!! Should I start with the landlord saying the reason all of the apartments burn down because of someone boyfriend? Like literally gossiping on the phone to me about another tenant and that has nothing to do with me, or should I start with the landlord manager responding to us saying " we'll you know bullets travel " when bullets hit my door? Or should I start with the landlord saying you can't have company over ? Any visitor? How do when I'm paying for where I lay my head at ? and mind you the rent is on time? Or them having their picks saying that no one can't have pets but the landlord is the same one that will come check your place out and tell you to hide the dogs or you don't have to move your grill it's fine& don't even get me started you go to the corner where the parking / fence is at you can hear her maintenance men talking about the landlord like a dog about how she doesn't do her work? she always backed up! and she waits to the last minute... you pay rent to live there , the laundromat that is on site is always always opening late... it's sick! I wouldn't wish someone having to live there on anyone because I know if both people would talk about eachother behind one another backs I can just imagine the mess you will have them both playing the blame game because they can't handled what they do for a living and I don't even want that stress!!! Plus i don't think anyone deserve that stress , plus I'm a firm believer don't think for a second you're going to pick and choose when to enforce rules you have to be consistent! The area is trying to become diverse but the mess that you deal with when it comes to the landlord being lazy unorganized and her boss talking in circles because she's not clear is enough in itself.

I made an appointment for my daughter to take the road test and a refresher course and paid $185…read more When I made the appointment I made sure to check the refund policy, which is a full refund if the appointment is canceled with in 24 hours. I ended up being able to get her to the dmv and immediately cancelled the appointment with driven2drive within the 24 hour timeframe. I was told I would receive a refund in 3-5 business days. That was over 3 weeks ago. I've called and emailed multiple times and still no refund. Edit to add...when driven 2drive saw my review they called me and immediately processed my refund and were very polite. I think they need better customer service training for their staff.

I wouldn't recommend booking with this company if there's any chance you need to cancel…read more I scheduled with them and approx 5 hours later called to cancel because my son had already set up a drivers test appointment elsewhere. They were pushy and pretty insistent that I keep my appointment because of "high"PayPal fees. This rubbed me the wrong way because none of this is posted on their website. Was also told I needed a supervisor to discuss any refunds. She didn't call. When I called back the second day she was again very off putting and warned me of a heavy PayPal fees for getting refunded but didn't know how much the fees are. Now mind you, I didn't use PayPal at all I used my credit card but was told they use PayPal as a third party. (Cop out excuse) and also somewhat shady because any legitimate business would have their own business bank account which doesn't need a third party. I was charged a $35 refund fee. When I called PayPal to ask about this fee they said they had no record of this payment whatsoever and if they had, fees would be on the merchant and not the consumer. This feels like a company who no matter what will take a cut of any money they can get. I will be disputing the final $35 with my credit card company not because of the money but on principle for this shady deal. SIDENote: had a great experience with Defensive Driving Academy and was a fraction of the price that these scammers charge. UPDATED: the owner of this business did contact me and gave me a the rest of my refund. It was obvious she cared to make this right and assured me that she would be communicating with her staff regarding customer service. I appreciated that and have respect for her making good of this situation. She clearly understands good customer service and wasn't wasting any time to resolve this matter.
