I had a wonderful experience here. We did the Jack the Ripper escape room and I was legitimately scared lol. It added to the excitement. The way the entire room was set up made you feel like you were truly apart of the story. No spoilers. Everything about this place was great. We won our mission. The location and set up of everything was really well done. Their waiting area was nice and comfortable. They have lockers for you to be able to lock up your stuff. They also have water and also had girl scout cookies on sale. The decor of the place was nice, and that might be because a lot of it was my in my 2 favorite colors. They have options for different types of rooms like 'Thai Prison' and 'Alice in Wonderland' but i really liked ours and would highly recommend if you are looking for true mystery and a good thrill!

Did Alice in Wonderland theme. 75 minutes instead of the standard 60. Just so well done. Worth driving from 2 hours away if you are that far away. You have to use multiple senses (not taste).

Had fun, very challenging. I wish they had a timer or at least gave us warnings as we lost 15 minutes.

As seasoned escapees we can honestly say that MindEscape is fantastically challenging. Jack the ripper has one of the most unique game starts that we've experienced, and the Alice in wonderland room is a completely different game experience than we've ever had before. These rooms are probably best suited for a larger group (3 to 4+ people) or a pair of veteran gamers. Dil (spelling?) was a fantastic game host. After we finished 'Jack the Ripper' he took some time to talk to us about our other escape game experiences and that is how we ended up doing back-to-back rooms and trying out the Alice room. Covid note: we appreciated that Dil requested that we wash our hands upon entering and provided hand sanitizer before we used the tablets to check in. We felt safer touching everything in the rooms knowing that this was the procedure for guests.

ESCAPETHEROOMers visited MindEscape back in March 2019. Parking in the area is a little bit tricky especially during the weekend. Recently they just partnered up with a parking lot that's 1 block away so you can easily park the car for 3 Hours for $10. Although the facility is in a sub-level, there is a ramp for handicap accessibility. We were fortunate enough to meet with the owner/ developer to learn more about the company. They currently have three rooms available. We tried "Jack the Ripper" room followed by "Thai Prison". They have a great location with plenty to do in the area. The lobby/ waiting area is cozy with plenty of seating available with puzzles to occupy you while you wait. "Jack the Ripper" room we were paired with another couple and we each started with a blindfold and handcuffs. The room design was quite impressive and provided an eerie feel to it. The puzzle challenges could've been a little bit clearer in correlation with the storyline. Unfortunately, the group that was in our room before us broke one of the locks and we weren't able to experience that puzzle. Also, we figured out the correct code for another lock and it wouldn't open. The game master had to come in and try it a few times himself to get it to open. There were some red herrings in the room but nothing too derailing. We managed to escape with time to spare. "Thai Prison" started our group off into two separate parties. We were paired with two other people and they split us up to work with them. It was great for team building and compromising as we really needed to work together to escape. The puzzle design for this room was great! It actually felt like I was inside of a prison trying to escape using my surroundings. The storyline was very interesting and the puzzle challenges were creative. Obviously, since you are in a progressive type escape room, the game was linear from start to finish. *For more info, check out my Yelp profile.

This escape room was super interactive and fun! Our game host Peter was superb and his clues basically saved our lives . With just two people I believe we did just a great job! They have rooms for people from 2 to a group and up to 6! The more the merrier but this is also a great idea for a date night. Too bad I have no man and went with my gay best friend. Peter thanks again for the fun time!

I've been to a few places in the ballpark of this before (Activate, Level 99). This place has a good amount of rooms, and a good blend of purely physical, and purely mental, so enough to satisfy any range of talents in your group, and flexibly so across rooms. Even with a few other groups in the building, we only had to wait a handful of times, and it was on the order of seconds. I came last time right after opening in October, and this time, many of the games were very much replay-able and fun with a new group! Not sure about coming back more frequently though-- I imagine that I'd have to similarly come back with some time in between or with enough new people to keep it novel enough to be fun. Some games are malfunctioning due to some unruly guests going way too hard, but otherwise, the staff are super helpful and are willing to help out to get games up and running for you again, or to give you tips on games if you're struggling to get a 100 score. My favorite was the light-up floor where you have to hit the blue squares without touching any of the red ones. It was definitely one of the more fun and challenging rooms! It was a little busy when we went, so we did have to wait for some of the more popular rooms. Luckily, there were always other rooms open that we hadn't tried yet, so we could do those and come back to the busier ones later. I will say it was a little pricey for what it is, especially since some of the rooms aren't super high-tech, but overall it was still a really fun activity and I'm glad I got to experience it. The workers were also really nice and helpful. There are a lot of fun photo opportunities throughout the place, including a few with professional cameras that were completely free! They even emailed the photos to us afterward, which was a nice touch. Overall, it's a fun activity to do with friends, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out at least once!

Of course without giving anything away, everything was pretty clear in terms of what was next, and clues came way in handy when we asked for them, which was easily done by just saying so while looking at a camera. I think this was their newest room, but the first one I'd been to. I thought it was really well done, and everyone was engaged throughout. We did the Egyptian Tomb: Imhotep's Curse because it felt the most like we were in Indiana Jones. Alas, we did not escape the room(s), but it was still a great experience and it was all very well designed. I think we are all itching to come back for redemption, so we'll definitely return and give one of the other rooms a shot.

So after a day of seeing his grave and at the museum of the American Revolution we did this Ben Franklin themed room. And it was AWESOME. To be fair, I like a room that lets you wander around instead of forcing you down a path...and I like a room you get rewarded for looking at random things instead of having everything spelled out for you. I also like a room that has a lot of spaces that don't do anything. And this room had all of that. We ended up not needing any clues but got REALLY close to being stuck a few times. It just felt like a really good payoff for the puzzles in this room and a very cool story.

Not that my boss would hold me to it, but I should refrain from my dramatic declarations. The Olde City Escape Games is located in an office building, but there was a sign that pointed us to the correct building. Once inside, look for them in the name of the tenants and ring it like a doorbell. That felt like step 1 of the test. Once inside we were all in their lobby and encouraged to use the restroom before we get started. Our game master was awesome. I blame the Sangria. I wish I remembered his name! He was super fun and engaging throughout the experience. This is an escape room so I don't want to give anything away so I'll try to stay high level. Since we were in Philadelphia we decided to do something historic themed. We did their "A Quest for Freedom" escape room where you explore Benjamin Franklin's study and operate his print shop on a mission to help the American Revolution. Each clue or item is used only once, so be sure to track what you have used or what you have not used, cause it would mean you still need to use it. My team and I had a blast and I definitely feel closer to them after successfully escaping together. We might have been sharper and solved the clue faster if we came here before dinner and drinks... Lessons Learned for next time.
