I nearly walked out before my consultation…read more As I sat there in the waiting room, nurse caitlin coward came out with her previous client. in an attempt to sell him skin care products, she essentially lied and used half truths. for example she told him that free radicals are bad, that they are little electrons that are just loose that vibrate and destroy skin cells. for anyone who doesn't know, free radicals are electrons, and the more you have, the more alkaline your body is. This is what you want, as more electrons allows electrical impulses in your body to move easier, and carries more oxygen. less "free radicals" means you are acidic. I have acidosis, so I know this is a bad state for your body to be in. I figured since i was going to have to pay the consultation fee if I left or stayed, so I stayed and listened to her for a bit. My skin is not that bad but I wanted CO2 laser therapy. I have been researching it for 6 months. I only needed one treatment as it ablates the skin and then heals. each session is $1000. which is fine. But she tried to sell me on turning down the intensity of the laser and coming in for three sessions. She then wanted me to buy all kinds of skin care products, when all you need is a good pure aloe. Very pretty girls who say everything with confidence are dangerous. If I hadn't researched CO2 laser therapy or knew about "free radicals" they might have gotten me. Be careful people.

It's my biggest pet peeve when you go somewhere that advertises a shellac manicure and they use gel-ish polish.... Not the same! I don't get my nails done on a regular basis but every time I do, I go there. It might be a little more than you're used to spending but just give them a try once and you will see why. They have all the colours and additives and can do amazing techniques to make your nails look spectacular. I checked out their Facebook page before I went there and you can see some pics of what they do.

I had never heard of It's All About Me but managed to get a same day appointment and gave it a try. I have heard horror stories about shellac removal and normally opt for regular polish but I was very happy with the service here. I couldn't remember what brand of shellac I had on (apparently some brands are easier to remove than others) so it took about 30 minutes, which apparently is longer than usual. But, that's because she didn't just scrape it off and ruin my nails. The woman who helped me took her time and was very patient and gentle. I would definitely go back for a regular manicure because of the good service. The prices are very reasonable for a downtown spa too.
