I finally had to enter National Sports to investigate the Big K's disappearance and within record time I was greeted by a very friendly salesperson who not only found The Big K for me, but three perfectly wonderful, very expensive hockey sticks that could significantly improve The Big K's game (and in sum total cost more than my dishwasher.) After much careful consideration, The Big K finally settled on "just one" (thank goodness) from this neatly organized and well-stocked store. Though the skate wall had many people shopping the sales associate took the time to use a brannock device to measure my foot and then explain to me why he was recommending certain skates for me to try on. As with my last trip to a store to buy skates (see below) my first associate had to swap out, but here I continued to receive the same great service and help with trying on 5 different pairs of skates. Pro Hockey Life not only had great customer service, but a big selection of skates to try on. While my skates were being sharpened I looked for blade covers and another associate walked me over to the right section of the store to find what I was after. Later as I was checking out the same guy came up and cautioned me on my choice (RED Pro Terry Blade Soakers) he warned me to remove them from my skates as soon as possible because he had seen the red dye bleed and stain the holder on skates in the past. The one employee, Noah, could basically own the place. He's probably about 15 years old and knew absolutely everything when we had questions about gloves and skates. He sized and baked the skates on, and was so impressive with his customer service. (Keep up the great work if you see this!) The customer service is consistently disappointing. Staff rarely makes eye contact, there is little to no acknowledgment when customers enter the store, and basic courtesies such as greeting customers or providing updates on wait times are completely absent. It is extremely inefficient and disorganized. What makes the experience particularly frustrating is that there can be only a couple of customers in the store while several employees are on the floor, yet it can still take 30 minutes to an hour just to get someone's attention or speak with a staff member. During these waits, there is often no communication, no indication of who is being helped next, and no confirmation that anyone will be assisting you. As a family that loves biking and has invested a lot of time and money on our bikes, it's so frustrating to get it serviced at this location and will be looking at going elsewhere.

One of the two gentlemen, with whom I spoke, was also very polite and friendly. However, I visited this location because of a specific bike they had advertised on sale and when they showed me the bike, I immediately noticed it was not as advertised. They had switched out the front shocks, tires, and shifters for lower end components which were not the components advertised on their website. For all I know, they may have downgraded other components as well that I didn't take the time to notice. While it is possible this was simply a mistake in advertising, I find it a little "fishy". When I asked if they could replace the original components, they made it clear that was not possible so I wonder what happened to those high end components. In any event, I walked out without the bike as it was simply not as advertised. As a result, I doubt I will return in the future. I definitely plan to warn my riding buddies and caution them against buying a bike from Pedalinx.
