We had a blast at the UNO Hockey game the other night, even though Minnesota won. I've been here once before for a graduation, but this was the first time for a hockey game! Plenty of ways to get in and it was nice a quick. We took some time to walk around and check everything out from different spots and there were very few locations that wouldn't be good to sit at! Baxter Arena is a solid venue that houses several different types of entertainments. I've seen hockey games there, concerts, and stand up comedian performances. The venue itself for concerts/shows is nice, with leveled seating that makes the view pretty good from any seat. The food options are pretty basic (hot dogs, burgers, pretzels) and they are more "grab and go" style like at a cafeteria. The quality of food is also a little meh - dry burgers, pretzels that are like donuts (sort of sweet with no salt), etc. I think one of the staff at the counter said the food vendor is a nonprofit organization, so if that's the case, I understand using lower quality ingredients so the fundraising brings in more. Baxter is definitely a smaller venue when compared to others like the CHI Center, so because of that they do attract some smaller acts most of the times. But if you see an act or game announced at Baxter Arena that piques your interest, definitely check it out and see for yourself how you like the venue! read more

I've been here before for other events and I've been pleasantly surprised with how clean the facility is, minus the trash in the seats during the game from other visitors. The prices are what you'd expect from a sporting event: expensive. I do appreciate the metal detectors upon entering the building. It makes me feel a little safer in the downtown adjacent area near UNO's campus. read more

Parking in the aksarben garage was easy. Great spot for hockey games! I had a seat pretty high up but could still easily see everything. The UNO game was awesome! Adorable how they have cheerleaders and a pep band and everything. read more

Really nice venue for a UNO hockey game! The seats were really comfy, which makes a difference when you're sitting in them for hours at a time. The entrance process was smooth, some long lines but they took care of them pretty quickly. It's worth mentioning they have a clear bag policy. It was quick getting in despite that though. I really liked that they have local craft beer options available! We got Kinkaider, even one of the custom Mavericks ones, and the Big Grove Oktoberfest. Good food options too, and some local! My husband got a brat and he enjoyed it, I got a chick fil a sandwich that I probably wouldn't get again. The bun was totally crushed and you could tell it had been packed up in a cooler for a few hours. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to another event, hopefully hockey game, here! read more

This is a big beautiful arena with lots of parking. I mostly come here for graduations. Be aware that bags are checked upon entry and like the airport, no bottled water or other liquids allowed. However they do sell beverages and other food items for a hefty price. It was $5.50 for a single botted water - even higher than at the airport! When the event is over, they kind of funnel you right out the door like a herd of sheep. I would recommend parking farther away for huge events like Central High School graduation or you'll be trapped until it starts clearing out. Campus police keep the traffic flowing out so there aren't traffic jams. My preferred entry is coming in from around back via Grover Street to 67th. read more

I've gone here so many times for UNO basketball and hockey games and every time I've came here I've always had great experiences. Every event here is set up to give the audience an authentic and cool experience, and everyone there is nice and no one has ever treated me and my family badly there if you ever have an event that is located in this arena you will have the best experience ever. read more

My wife, a friend, and I went to a concert here last night for the first time. There was a lot of the upper levels blocked off. Overall, everything seemed nice, but they were really struggling to get a lot of the sound system in check. Of course, drinks are over priced as we expected for an event. The friend that went with us was handicap, and the employees were very nice to help let her go in easily without having to do steps and such. Parking was nice and easy going to and from the event as well. read more

The Jet Award was held at Baxter Arena. Parking was easy to find, based on having access to the secure lot. The club level was extremely crowded, in fact too crowded for my comfort. Once the program started, being on the arena floor was comfortable. The sound system was good, and the video was decent during the program. Celebrities from the NFL past were announced, and the mayor of Omaha made an appearance. Overall, it's a good venue to hold this award ceremony at Baxter. read more

I gave Baxter Arena a five star rating because one my dad has been a season ticket holder for about the whole time the stadium has been created lol. But I also like it because the stadium is clean. If you have kids, it's a great idea to bring them here because you were able to give players high-fives when they're coming back in to the locker room or at locker room. After the game if they win, they have a fight song. Great way to get players to sign pucks. I've honestly been coming here for like my entire life. They've usually head home games every Friday and Saturday. On some occasions they have a Friday Sunday series which means instead of the games starting at 7:07pm they start at like 6:07. During intermission and they have a Chick-fil-A parachute drop. You always get a free Chick-fil-A tag Which usually comes with the other free chicken sandwich or eight piece nugget. For the second coupon both times I've done it. I've got an a godfathers, three dollars off a large pizza, and a buy one get one free PepperJax coupon. The stadium is really clean. They have three main concession stands, and they have some small other concession stands such as cold stone, Dippin dots and nacho stand a Durango's time out which has hot dogs, popcorn, candy, and drinks. Durango is the mascot he's always interacting with people. Go, Mavs! Bonus Baxter Arena also hosts volleyball and basketball. This is College hockey. But the arena is off-campus nearby the arena just like a five minute walk are some lacrosse fields. And also a baseball stadium . There are three parking lots. And needs Area right next to the stadium or you get a place to eat. My favorite one would be Gandolfo's. The concession stands are owned and operated by Savor. I used to love Baxter Arena...a more intimate venue for concerts than the big arenas. BUT... when I purchased 15 TobyMac tickets (a Christmas gift for our family) in the section we always loved sitting in... and had confirmation for the purchase...my good thoughts about Baxter Arena were shattered. On the morning of the concert I was called and told that our tickets weren't available and they had moved us to section 107...basically BEHIND the stage!! I told them I had confirmation for my seats, but they wouldn't budge..."Those seats are not available, we can seat you in section 107." When I stated that was not acceptable they simply said they could refund my money. Such a quick response... tells me this is not an isolated incident! I assume that as the date drew near they resold the good seats for more money. Nothing else makes sense. read more

Great arena for large events--especially UNO athletics. I attended a UNO basketball game and had fantastic seats that cost about $15. Concession lines were understandably long during breaks between the action, but kept moving swiftly. The food was good too--serving Raising Canes, a few other arena staples, even a veggie burger. The prices are a bit gouged, but hey, what do you expect? With a central location and adequate parking, it's easy to get in and out of Baxter Arena, plus there are many of great places to pre-game/post-game at nearby Aksarben Village. While the Omaha area might have a few too many small arenas at the moment, Baxter serves its purpose of being a home for UNO's main events and anchoring Aksarben as one of the best entertainment districts in the region. read more

Baxter Arena is a cozy little arena that is perfect for UNO and the surrounding neighborhoods. Before you even reach the building, the roads and parking lots are easy to navigate. I think the venue could use a little more handicapped parking because we did have a small issue with one of our group, but otherwise it was easy as pie. Plus the parking was free so we didn't want to complain too much. Once you're inside, the arena is quaint, well laid out and easy to walk through for whatever event you're attending. There are plenty of bathrooms and the concessions are easy to find. While the sight lines are nice and easy from all spots, if you're a well fed husky person such as myself you might want to buy a ticket in the lower bowl because those seats are a little wider than their cozier counterparts in the upper deck. read more

Wow, what a great location and architectural design for an ice arena. We played year as part of a youth hockey tournament and were super impressed. The staff was incredibly helpful and the facilities were top-notch. For spectating, I was most impressed with the beautiful natural light on the north rink. If you are playing in the early morning or late afternoon, sun can get in the players' eyes, but only for a few minutes as it comes in the windows. As far as tournaments are concerned, this is an ideal location with close access to hotels, restaurants, and the expressway. The rink itself has everything you need from concession stands to skate sharpening equipment. It wasn't cold inside, and there is plenty of seating. Overall, this is a great / modern facility that is perfect for hosting hockey tournaments. read more

Great place to attend an event. Went there recently for a hockey game and my husband's business had a suite reserved. Very attentive service and yummy catered food. Usually parking is not too bad. As is normal at places like this, food and beverages are pricey, but that's to be expected. The Baxter Arena has a good layout and is kept very clean, even during times when there is an event being held. It's nice they are right across the street from the Aksarben area, for dinner or cocktails before or after an event. I also like that they have a local company on stand-by for medical emergencies that may occur. read more

This is a newer arena in the heart of Omaha, the Aksarben district. My wife and I went here for a craft fair a few weeks ago. Everything about this place is brand new so there isn't much to comment on, on that front. The staff was nice but didn't seem to know how to create a line so that everyone was in an orderly line; not that big of a deal. All in all, the next event I go to at the Baxter Arena will definitely will be good with the new building, big parking lot, and nearby restaurants. read more

Can't say I really enjoyed my experience there. It's similar to Ralston arena. And much worse in a few areas. Never been to venue that doesn't have closer/ parking for motorcycles. Or a special parking space for us. Nor have I ever sweated so much. Just sitting and watching a show. It was hotter in there. Than the drive to the event. Hallways are cool but no circulation in the arena. Why copy the Ralston arena and only be a worse place? Wish I would've known how this place was. Before I actually bought tickets to Korn. It's going to be another miserable experience. Thank god BOSTON made the unbearable atmosphere. Worth sweating your butt off. So if anybody affiliated with the band BOSTON sees this. Got a bunch of tix for a family gathering. We sat in the last row on the upper deck and still had a great view. Mavs hockey won 3-0, that made it more fun. The beer is too much but that's how it is at sporting events. Not a great selection either. Parking can be tough at a full house event and it was when we went. When Baxter Arena was first built I wondered if I would ever see the inside of it. Who knew that I would spend many Saturday afternoons sitting in the bleachers off of the curling sheets. We have seen President Obama speak there. We have watched a Sprouts concert of budding musicians through the Omaha Conservatory. But it always comes back to the curling. The facility is clean. The parking is plentiful. I just wish there was coffee shop for warm liquids on curling days. But that just means I need to plan a bit better. read more

The stairs are too steep for older fans. The drink holders are too shallow which caused me to spill my drink a couple of times. The holders make it harder to stand up because they rub my hips. This is especially true when I wear a coat. My wife does not want to have season tickets for next year's hockey season. The food stand does not allow you to buy a sandwich without having French fries. I don't want French fries! Why am I forced to pay for them when I don't want them? The chicken strips/fingers are too watery/mushy and no flavor. I have to look at them to see what I am eating. The Century Link had great chicken strips. Why do personnel check IDs for people that are obviously over 21. I have grandkids that are old enough to buy alcohol. I am 73 and have to show my ID before I can get the paper bracelet. If you appear close to 21, they should be checked 70-year olds? read more

I went to two graduations at Baxter this past May. The arena seats are too cramped, there isn't any leg room and the venue is too cold. Food prices are astronomical. For example, you have to pay $6.00 for a pretzel. Thankfully, I won't be coming back. read more

We took the kids to The Beach Boys concert and sat in the lower bowl. The seats were near the clubhouse area, which made food, drinks, and restrooms very convenient, so we hope to sit in that section again for future events. But really for all of the events we have attended at Baxter Arena, we have never sat in the same area more than once and every seat has been a good seat. It is a clean facility and the staff is always very friendly. It was a great evening. read more

Parking was horrible and have no clue how the arena passed a fire escape test. Narrow corridors, drink and food really, really slow, bathrooms out of towels. Whoever designed this place should not be designing arenas. Your fired! To top it off the Ticketmaster seating chart was wrong, showed side stage for section 114 and it wasn't and I paid for premium seats. Won't be going back. read more
