The facility is the home to St Stephen Martyr but is uniquely located across the road from the campus on with its own private parking lot and setup. The gym is really large and boasts the space and setup for multiple indoor gymnasium sports and also sports a pretty nice outdoor playground. My main reason for visiting was supporting my daughters volleyball team who plays in the CSAA youth leagues for local Lousiville private schools. Setup inside was nice and court was in good conditions. Concessions Where open and it was an inviting game time atmosphere. No real complaints from Me.

The tennis courts seem to be used just about every day during lunchtime and after 5, even when it's chilly. The playground is full of kids playing and in the warm weather there's a splash park. This is an amazing community park that seems to have a lot of birthday parties on the picnic tables and friends gathering in the green space.

Let alone a huge river is truly amazing. The beautiful Ohio is along side this water park under the Big Four Bridge on the Louisville, Kentucky side. This is the Midwest and all along the shore line are swings that the city have installed to help you relax and recover from your long day . Enjoy the sunshine and views from nature .

There are multiple sections, each have different activities such as slides, ladders, ramps, sliding rails. The park of was mostly clean but some areas were showing signs of aging. But overall the park is really popular among locals. Lots of kids were in park when we visited the playground with our daugher.

Cherokee is a gem in East Louisville. The full loop is 2-4 miles with lots of trail cut throughs in the woods that are both bike and walker or runner friendly. There are two big hills, each with restrooms, playgrounds, and water fountains. There are gazebos for picnics. The Hogans fountain area has a better playground and a splash pad, basketball court, and a wide open, flat field. Dog Hill is rolling on top of the hill. The hill itself is great for sledding in the winter. On the last Sunday of each month, the park is fully closed to cars, which is great for kids, adults, and pets. The crew that maintains the park does an excellent job keeping it clean, the trails clear, and combating invasive plants. You'll see lots of wildlife - deer, fox, hawks, turtles, etc.

The canal was built to bypass the rapids. This area was founded by George Roger's Clark establishing his foot print permanently on the shores of the Ohio River . This area is Clarksville now. This individual made an English speaking connection with the local tribes. All this history! What if the trees could talk? The rocks leave us pictures? It's incredible all the vibrant history around us.

We asked a nice pedestrian and he told us where to go (at the lookout). OMG I was like, this is it??? Looked like cement drainage from the river. Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed 5k run, and the local chapter organizes the event in Joe Creason every Saturday at 9 a.m. On a typical Saturday, you'll see a few dozen people gather, everyone from competitive runners to walkers, and plenty of hacks like me somewhere in between. The local chapter is just one of about 100 around the country (and more globally), and it's completely run by a dedicated group of socially-minded volunteers. Sometimes they wear cute outfits. Sometimes they bring snacks to share with finishers. And they always bring a lot of energy. It's easy to sign up online and all you have to do is arrive by 9:00 and have your barcode on your phone. The Creason course can be a little confusing at first -- it's essentially a big figure 8 that you run 2 1/2 times. You find yourself at the center of that 8 no fewer than five times. And you have to run up a sizable hill twice, so you'll get your pulse working. As of this writing, I've done the Parkrun 11 times in the past couple of years (I've only volunteered once so far, but I hope to do better next year). Highly recommend it for anyone looking to either train for a bigger race or just mix up their own running routine. You'll be rubbing elbows with a lot of other nice people.

Rubel Park is one of those places I would deem unsafe for children. It seemed promising at first. I found it on Google maps, a triangular shaped park, tucked away in a residential neighborhood. Google maps took me to a cross street with no park in view, so I took a chance going down an alley. The alley was brick-paved and extremely bumpy. I turned onto another street which was filled with equally large potholes and not in the most well-kept of neighborhoods. Still, I wanted to get out and see the park for myself. The sign introducing the park is covered with graffiti, as are many of the benches, the basketball court and the playground. The playground has two slides and monkey bars, but all of the other interactive pieces have long since broken or been destroyed. The benches are not in good repair either. The wooden ones are dry rotted, sagging and have holes while ome of the metal ones are also sagging at an extreme tilt towards the earth. To the left of the playground there's a large field. Upon second look, I noticed there was a batting cage -- once upon a time perhaps, this park held lively kickball games. But I saw no bases or signs of life. Though the water fountain does work, it over-sprays the catch pan by about a foot. But the kicker for me was when I walked the sidewalk to find a needle lying clearly in my path. Sure, I suppose there's always a chance it's the remains of an insulin shot... but with so many awesome parks in town to choose from, why take that chance? 1 star for disrepair and safety. If you do decide to be a maverick -- the basketball court seems in decent shape. But again, so many parks I'd feel safe playing in -- why come here?
