We would give Lacy six stars if we could, I cannot say enough good things about her. We were able to work with her three nights per week for a little over a month with our four month old. She was the second night nurse we used and by far the best. It goes without saying that the sleep we got when she was with us was invaluable, but Lacy was also extremely knowledgeable and helpful in advising us on sleep training techniques, what to expect and how to go about it once we were ready. She was always on time and gave us a thorough report the next day of how our guy did through the night and recommended changes to help with things. Lacy was also very reassuring and comforting with my wife during the beginning of sleep training, which was a very stressful time for us. Hiring Lacy was probably the best decision my husband and I made when planning our fourth trimester! As first time parents, it's scary coming home and taking care of a crying baby throughout the night. It was amazing having Lacy there with us twice a week for the first six weeks. Yes, the nights she came enabled us to get solid chunks of sleep to get us through the next few days -- but beyond that, she helped us establish a night time routine that we continue to use months later. She also answered questions and helped us tackle new baby issues -- such as when my baby refused to have full feeds, but would prefer to snack throughout the day. Plus it was awesome to have Lacy kindly correct us when we just didn't know certain things such as why our child refused a bottle (it was because it was in the fridge and the milk was too cold) or simply that our house was too cold and we needed to dress him in an extra layer. To be honest, a night nanny originally felt too expensive - but I would do it again in an instant. I feel like Lacy helped get my husband and me off to a healthy routine and helped set up our child to sleep consistently throughout the night (with just a few quick night feeds) during his first few months. I feel like everything she taught us has helped us get more sleep than any other new parent I know. I would 100% rehire her again if we decide to have another baby or if our child needs some sleep training when he's older. read more

This review is two years overdue! Lacy was absolutely amazing and helpful with the first two months of new parenthood. After a scary first couple of nights due to an unforeseen medical issue, we were able to find Lacy to help us gather ourselves and bring us peace of mind. It was comforting to know that we would get at least one night a week where we could get better sleep. We had an amazing experience working with Lacy! She cared for our newborn son 2 nights a week for the first few weeks after he was born. We have a 2 year old as well, so the extra sleep really helped so I could have the energy for both kids during the day. Lacy was always on time and is obviously knowledgable and experienced with babies and all things surrounding babies. It was very comforting to have her in our home helping us and I looked forward to those nights I could get extra sleep and recharge. She was great at soothing our newborn son and offered me observations that helped me get him to sleep when she wasn't here. Lacy is great! We hired her 2-3 nights per week for a few weeks after our son was born. The extra sleep was a game-changer in our mental health and ability to care for him during the day. Lacy showed up on time, was great at soothing our son (he rarely ever cried in her care), and promptly texted us an overnight log of feeding/diaper/sleep times in the morning. She also shared advice and helped us get him to start sleeping in longer stretches. I had a preconceived notion of a doula as being this serene, ultra-calm person floating around the room, and Lacy didn't fit that image. She's high-energy, funny, and opinionated, and it turns out that was just fine! :) Finally, a previous review expresses concern about Lacy having a day job. I had the same concern, but in practice, it didn't turn out to be an issue. Lacy slept when the baby slept but tended to him right away when he woke, and it was clear that she is very conscientious about providing excellent care for her little charges. read more

We found Lacy through a google search and she was very responsive and flexible with our schedule. We had her come from 10 PM to 6 AM a few times a week. She was very thorough with her notes on our son's schedule at night and helped us gauge when and how frequently he was eating. Overall I would say she is experienced with babies and I would def. recommend her but a few watch outs: 1) She has a full load (school and another job) during the day so often she came over very tired and I had concerns about her ability to manage both her packed day and then caring for our son night. 2) As new parents I was hoping Lacy would help our son get more consistent sleep patterns but Lacy was def. there just to make sure my husband and I got more sleep but didn't make any impact on our sons sleep. 3) On several occasions she came late and then was rushing to leave before 6 because of parking situation. We never had a chance to really converse about the night and how our son did. 4) We had a small communication error where we were going out of town and told Lacy we would not need her to come that weekend. Lacy mentioned at that point that there is a 2 week minimum lead time to make schedule changes which we have no recollection of and there was never anything in writing indicating that. She asked us to pay for that night but we didn't think that was fair and she insisted. I would have paid but my husband was frustrated by her lack of professionalism and we didn't Months later our son was going through severe jet lag after coming back from an international trip and I needed some help for a few nights and I reached out to Lacy since she had already been in our house and we really needed someone the next night. Those first few months of having a new baby are so challenging and I'm so grateful that we had Lacy's help when our second son was born. We started with 2 nights a week and quickly upped it to 3 when her schedule allowed to give us the support we needed to get through each sleep deprived week. Lacy become a dependable friend and trusted resource. She arrived promptly at 10 on the nights scheduled and adapted to our needs. I continued to feed the baby but it was such a relief to have her wake me only when necessary and then whisk him away to change diapers and put him back to sleep (and of course deal with the fussiness and protests that come with little babies!) Lacy comes with a lot of experience and is opinionated but also lets you direct the program. She was also an excellent sounding board and often played the role of therapist when we were mulling over sleep issues or other related parenting questions. I'm so glad we hired here and would highly recommend her to other parents needed more sanity and sleep in their lives! read more

Working with Lacy was the best decision my husband and I made! We recently had our first child and were really struggling with sleep the first 2 months with baby. We tried so many things - the snoo bassinet, every type of white noise track, and every kind of swaddle on the market. Our LO is just a tricky and noisy sleeper and we've had to give him time to grow out of it. Luckily, we found Lacy, who started helping us 3x a week and gave us some much needed rest. She was always punctual and brought a positive attitude. She is a great communicator, will let you know if anything needs to change (like going up a nipple size if you give bottles) and really respects whatever wishes you have as a parent. She was great with our baby, attending to his needs and taking excellent care of him overnight. We really looked forward to the nights when she would come over. She gave us back our days, which made it possible for us to enjoy days with our baby - that meant so much since our little one is growing so quickly. If you're thinking about getting some night help, Lacy is 1000% worth it. Our only regret is not finding her earlier. read more

My husband and I are so, so thankful to have had Lacy's support after our daughter was born. She was very accommodating to our whole family's needs and helped us get the rest we needed. Having a new baby is so exhausting, but Lacy helped us get through it. She always showed up to our house on time and made sure our daughter was doing well. Lacy is very experienced and great! My husband and I were sleep deprived and needed a couple of good nights sleep when our little one was one month old. Lacy got to our home, took our baby and sent us right to sleep while she took care of him. She changed his diaper, bottle fed him (per mi request) and soothed him back to sleep without us even knowing. She made us feel safe, understood and best of all helped us get some much needed rest. She also gave me good advice that's helping my baby go to sleep faster and longer stretches at night. Lacy is a lifesaver! When I contacted Lacy we were in a pretty desperate place. My 4 month old was waking every hour and had never had a stretch longer than 3 hours. I was totally sleep deprived and every time he woke up at night I was trying to figure out why he was waking up (reflux? Diaper? Teething?) and what the best thing to do was (shush pat? Pick him up? Nurse?). I had total nighttime decision fatigue and anxiety that I was doing everything wrong and I was probably teetering toward postpartum depression. So we called in Lacy! She was completely flexible with whatever night feeding arrangement we wanted - leave bottled milk, formula, a night wake up to breastfeed - whatever we were most comfortable with. We left her night supplies like extra swaddles and diapers and she arrived at 10pm with a 'don't worry, I got this' presence and told us to go get some sleep. She came twice a week for several weeks and after every night would send us a little report with all the wake ups and feeds info. She would also share any helpful short details like if it seemed like gas/reflux was bothering him. Or if he was ready to try a night unswaddled. She was also super responsive over email when I had additional questions about the night. She was such a huge help. Not just for the extra sleep, but for the relief of not making all those judgement calls at night and the clearer picture of what was going on with our little guy. read more

I hired Lacy for two months, twice a week. My husband asked me, "Are we paying someone so we can sleep?" and my answer was, "YES!" Sleep is so important and I admit I didn't realize it until I had my own baby. Lacy does more than just let you sleep though. Lacy is awesome. She started working with us as a night nanny when our son was about 6 weeks old, and we've kept her helping us until he was 5 months old. I never imagined we'd have her helping us this long, but it was so hard to give up the wonderful support.
