*Revised* I received my "report" from my Renal & Bladder ultrasound with a total of 7 images taken and 3 minutes to complete. Their technologist prelimed my kidneys as "WNL" or within normal limits with no stones, masses, cysts, etc. This is definitely not true and have it well documented! This is fraudulent and will be reported to Tricare and likely an attorney to review! FIND A REPUTABLE COMPANY TO SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY WITH! THEY DO NOT HAVE. Went there on November 21, 2019. The staff was dressed poorly (sagging pants, unkept hair, etc.) which was unprofessional. The receptionist barely knew her own job. She took messages, But immediately forgot who gave her the message and what the message was. I witnessed this as I was sitting there waiting to pee in a cup. I had to walk out as I'm retired military, and dealing with inept people is very stressful and causes anxiety. I'm going to talk to my doctor about another urology clinic. I'm not seeing these people again if I can help it. read more

I have a nephrostomy bag. I was given 0 instructions on how to care for. Thank god for Brandon Brace and Bills Prescriptions in Brandon. Also staff is rude to patients over the phone. This is the medical profession? You have to have empathy to work in a call center. read more

Dr. Paola is a no nonsense physician. He tells is like it is, no BS. Some people think he is cold and uncaring because of his abrupt, but truthful, manner. In my opinion he a very caring person. He sure took good care of me. I am a retired Plastic Surgeon and am a pretty good judge of character. Another member of that group, Dr. Mark Baker, operated on me and did a fantastic job. In November and December of 2019, my husband suffered two major strokes. He has required a Foley catheter, since his brain surgery in December, and he also has an enormous Inguinal Scrotal Hernia. He spent 40 days in the hospital and 22 days in rehab. The strokes have affected his vision, hearing, speech, balance, cognitive processing, and ability to walk. Three days before my husband's appointment, a staff member from Bay Area Urology called and said she had failed to inform Dr. Angelo Paola that she had to insert another Foley catheter. At his last visit, they did a four-hour trial period of which he could not void, so he had to go back into the office and have another Foley catheter inserted. In order to eliminate the Foley catheter, on two occasions, the hospital had tried straight-catheterizing him every 6 hours, which resulted in a urinary-tract infection (UTI). Also, with the extra-large hernia, it would take two skilled RN's to complete the procedure. So, when Dr. Angelo Paola's office called me and asked me to take the training on learning how to straight-catheterize...I refused...because I knew with his large hernia it takes two individuals to do this procedure and I am his only caregiver. Also, he has a previous history of being straight-catheterized and it has ended up with a UTI both times. Also, the UTI's add more complications to his fragile cognitive state. When Dr. Paola entered the room, during our appointment, he never sat down, he never closed the door, and he never got close enough to examine my husband...he immediately questioned the catheter and became agitated with me when I told him I was not going to take the training to straight-cath my husband. He never questioned why I made this decision; he immediately turns to my cognitive-impaired husband and tells him that I am going to cause his DEATH because I am refusing to straight-cath him! Before I could respond, Dr. Paola exits the room through the door he conveniently left open. He was in the room, at most, 5 minutes and he was not there to speak about the condition of my husband...he was mainly there to share his disapproval of my decision. I take great pride in the care I give my husband, and in fact, since he has been in my care for the past 60 days, he has NOT had any UTI's, I have cleared up all the bedsores on his back and elbows he got during his hospital and rehab stays, and any therapist, nurse, or doctor who treats or has treated my husband would totally agree he receives the best of care. I am his only caregiver 24 hours a day...7 days a week. For this doctor to tell my husband, who is in an extremely cognitive fragile state, that I was going to cause him to die is horribly unprofessional, unacceptable, and inexcusable! Truly, he is a disgrace to the medical profession! It is one thing to slander me and my character, but it is more of an injustice to do this to a man who is struggling to recover and cope from so many disabilities these strokes have caused! To be told your only caregiver is going to cause you to die...SERIOUSLY...why is this individual allowed to take the Hippocratic Oath and practice medicine??? He needs to be relinquished of all his duties...before he has the opportunity to damage another innocent patient!!! read more

This guy Alver is the most unprofessional person I have ever been too I had two issues going on. ED and BPH.I told him on day one that the BPH is the most important issue and I want to focus on getting that addressed ASAP. NO. he went right for the ED issue. He ordered a few tests and made me wait over 3 months to address the BPH issue When I questioned him on it he opened up the door to let the whole staff listen to our conversation. this is a HIPPA confident violation! When he was done he did not say a word to me but just got up and left the room. Then after three months of waiting to get my results back from him I asked him why he did not review my BPH results sooner and follow additional testing sooner? His response was "Well you just cannot please everyone!" He went on to only address the ED issue and completely ignored my BPH issue. I also explained to him that I did not want him to send in the script to the compounding Pharmacy because of some health issues my wife is having at the moment. Well he just went ahead and ordered the script anyways...He then just got up and left the room and did not say a word. ***Worst of all, he ordered the test where he needed to push a camera up my Penis to look at my prostate. He was NOT very gentle at all! He kept pushing and Pushing and Pushing even when I asked he to stop and or slow down. He just kept pushing harder. He also used and exhorbant and overly excessive amount lubrication that actually made puddles all over my thighs, the pad under my butt and dripping down the side of the exam table he had me on!!!! Do not get me wrong here. lub is good in this situation but he just made puddles!! But to top it off, when he was done he just walked away, did not offer or hand me any type of toweling etc to clean up with....he did not ask me to get dressed or even tell me he was done. he just walked out the room with his assistant in tow and I was left there covered in lub and at a lose of how I was to get my self dry so that I just had to put my clothes back on while all wet and go home and take a shower to clean up. Later that afternoon my wife told me that I was bleeding from my penis and left urine drips in the bathroom. My advice is to go to a professional Doctor. Leave this practice alone! read more

Was at Bay Area Urology (Riverview & Sun City Center) many times for consultations, biopsy, surgery, injections. All visits have gone well with little waiting and good service and communication. I have had two times where the assistant to my doctor did not return my call. The two doctors (plus all who helped in my procedures and surgery) were professional, friendly , willing to talk to me and explain what was going on. My current doctor (Dr Baker) gives me the facts without pulling any punches. Just what I want with stage 4 cancer. I want to know how long I have so I can plan the rest of my life while I am feeling fine. read more

Dr Baker is awesome. Not only has he taken care of me for the last 8+ years, he has now helped my husband. I def recommend him.

Timely on my visits, but follow up interaction with office staff was unprofessional. Did not explain payments correctly and took my first payment of $150. On my second payment I stated I'd pay $100 and planned to make the final payment in two weeks. Receptionist repeated back $100, so I signed the receipt without paying attention. After noticing the payment later was withdrawn for $200 I left a message for the office manager to call back. I had to call back again to reach her. She told me that I was wrong and the employee said they heard me say $200. She did say though that they shouldn't have even accepted my payment because the employee was wrong in taking a partial payment and the balance in full was supposed to be paid. If the employee already messed up and didn't follow office procedures, maybe the employee also messed up the the withdrawal amount as well, but is unwilling to admit a mistake?? It's easy to say, I'm sorry, we made a mistake. We can't do the refund, but will be happy to take the rest of your payment later because of the inconvenience. Instead I'm told she's upset with her employee for not following procedure, they won't refund me anything because I should've been paying in full at the time. Did I sign the receipt? Yes. Did I look at it? No, that's my mistake. I can live with that, but what's the point in arguing with me and telling me I'm wrong on what I said? Just apologize for the mistakes and move on. Dr. Truesdale may be new to this practice and many of the doctors have reviewed my case with him per his request and of course they cover one anther on call after hours. Bu far, Dr. Truesdale is the most passionate, understanding, knowledgeable, patient caring, conservative yet does what needs to be done Doctor I've ever had or even worked with a doctor when I was a practicing R.N. for many years as none of those doctors could hold a candle stick to him except for my back surgeon Dr. Small. Dr. Truesdale had the BEST bedside manner I've ever experienced and he takes time to answer family questions no matter how many they may be before and after surgery. He fixed me today with God"s hands guiding him, however, it is because he doesn't rush things also and reviews every senerio that could happen making plan A, B, and C if necessary. I am home in my bed tonight fixed without having to have what could have been a major surgery because of Dr. Truesdale at Bay Area Urology. Being an R.N. For as many years as I was, I saw a lot and worked with a lot of doctors and I say without ONE hesitation, choose Dr. Truesdale!!!! Thank you Dr. Truesdale not only for your surgical skills and knowledge but for your true compassion and taking the proper steps even when I was impatient to fix me!
