However, the play area is not fenced off or gated so its easy for the kids to dash off towards the car park or road. This is a bit worrying. The bus costs a pound and needs some upkeep inside, a lot of the soft play padding needs a good clean and I hate to think what was lurking in the ball pit. The kids loved it however. The pub itself is nice with friendly staff. They have a large menu of standard pub grub (with a dash of gastro). the food isn't amazing but it is still nice. They also offer a carvery. The prices of food and drinks are about average.

Many of the meals have smaller portion sizes available, but to be fair these are still much bigger than you'd get in many other pubs. Even the children's portions are big! We have tried various dishes off the huge menu and all have been delicious; there is a quite a large vegetarian menu which pleased me; the mushroom stroganoff with pasta is lovely, and the puddings are gorgeous too! The prices are a little higher than many pub meals, but this is reflected in the portion sizes and the sheer quality of the food. The salad tasted fresh and was what it should be. The staff were friendly and chatty, and the food took about 30 minutes which was to be expected for such food. The only downside was having to go upstairs to pay by card, but thats only if you're like myself and forgot to get cash first. I've eaten here a few times over the years, and the staff have always been friendly, serving nice food, and in a quiet little 'tucked away' place for a bit of a break from the busy streets above.

We thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The food is exceptional. I had a filet steak which was one of the best I've had in the UK. We also enjoyed the lamb shank. As for the Sunday dinner, I'd rank it as one of the best too. You won't be disappointed -- a solid six stars!!
