Great little coin/collectible shop that I wish I found sooner. They have something for everyone. Prices range from $1 to the hundreds so there's something for every collector. Andy was the nicest shop owner I've ever met and was so happy to help me find what I was looking for. He said the shop will be closing in August of 25, and I plan to come shop a few more times before that! Definitely worth a stop if you are in Boston. read more

I have known Andy for over 40 years, when my company was based in Boston (until 1982). He has always been the reasonable, frazzled, friendly "corner coin shop" owner while my outfit went on to the be the biggest in the world. Yet, when my path takes me to Boston, the time melts away, and we talk about old times, and if he has the odd coin or two I think we (Heritage, HA.com) can use, be it a transaction of $250 or into five figures, it's always a pleasure to do what we can in that little store's relaxed, semi-chaotic, old-fashioned atmosphere. If there's anything at all I could complain about, it's that he is too friendly with strangers who walk in and waste his time for 10 minutes on some useless question. But Andy is just too nice to tell them to get lost, and it's not a bad thing that there are shop owners still out there who are willing to value politeness over money. read more

Andy was kind and helpful and I walked away with some neat Pokemon and basketball cards. The store itself is super cute with lots of collectibles and trinkets (coins, baseball cards, hockey cards, campaign buttons, figurines, watches etc.) to sift through. Not the gold standard for baseball card collectors. This shop is messier than your normal hobby shop. It has an odor to it that I can only describe as foul, not that musty old paper smell either, it was just bad. There were no visible staff members in the store behind the counter. There seemed to be four gentleman in the (very small) storefront having a heated argument about a Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie Card, which I somewhat appreciated (fans and collectors being passionate). But the store was so small that I didn't get a chance to see anything really. This shop definitely specializes in coins, as the name suggests, but there is signage for baseball cards on the outside, which is what drew me in. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. If I could give this place negative stars, I would without hesitation. The shop smells and looks like a hoarder has taken over throughout the last couple of decades. Andy, the owner, may be the most unpleasant and unwelcoming individual I have ever encountered in the hobby. He keeps his singles in one row white boxes hidden behind the piles of trash behind his counter. If you are lucky enough to have him bring a box over, he will most likely cut you off from your search after a box or two and makes it seem like the largest inconvenience for him to grab another. I was in the shop 3-4 hours before close and he still would not allow me to continue pulling out singles I was interested in. THE SINGLE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED. Andy is senile, rude, and has no clue what anything is worth after 1980. He quite literally was pulling prices out of his ass with no logic whatsoever. Pulls out the best two cards which he values at $1 each. Then proceeds to tell me the 12 lesser value cards he will need $20 for. When questioning his logic he began to have a temper tantrum of sorts, all the while with another customer there to see his whole breakdown. I was yelled at, called names, and told never to return all for asking for a breakdown of where he came up with this price because his pricing made zero sense whatsoever. "It just looks like a $20 stack" referring to the 12 cards worth MAYBE 10 cents to 50 cents a piece on a good day. Please do not waste your time, I wish I had a recording of the way this man treats his customers. No wonder his shop has had the same faded autographs hanging amongst his clutter for the last 30 years. It's almost like he does not want to sell anything he's just there to pick fights with potential customers who are willing to put money in his pocket. AVOID AT ALL COSTS ONCE AGAIN. YOU ARE NOT MISSING ANYTHING ANYWAYS. I wouldn't pay a months rent for all of his sports inventory just a pathetic excuse for a "card shop". read more

Bay state coin is your typical coin hobby shop. They have what seems to be thousands of trinkets an billions. As far as inventory it was a smorgasbord of different things. Kinda hard to sift through but im sure they'll have what your looking for upon request. read more

I was in your store earlier today. Here is a little hint; next time before you complain about your "f'ing customers" leaving while you are on the phone, you might want to actually look out into your shop to see that it is indeed empty, especially since it's such a small and cluttered space to begin with. There were 2 people in there at the time, skippy (I was the guy you ignored while showing the customer that left the 1960 Fleer Ted Williams that you incorrectly identified as a 1961 card. I know it, it was the last card issued while he was playing, and have an autographed version of it at home). Don't just rely on your door chime to tell you that the door was opened. I am a collector / dealer who has a rather large personal collection, but between your laughable prices for off condition cards (and do you have one autographed card that isn't faded by light? ) and surly attitude, the only reason I would go back into your store would be to hand you a print out of this review because I seriously doubt you have anything modern or would even know what Yelp is to see how badly you are coming across to potential buyers. read more

I have dealt here many times and have always found it reasonable, for a coin shop. I have spoken a few times with the owner about various topics, if he is able to. It is a small crowded store with a lot to look at. I do enjoy what he has to fofer and will continue to go there again. read more

I started buying coins here a few weeks ago and have been in a couple times. The owner, Andy, has been in business at this location for 40 years, is immensely knowledgeable, and has a well established reputation. He has a great selection of US and foreign coins. Prices are fair and if he can help you out, he will. They also have sports memorabilia, stamps, political items, antique games, and other interesting odds and ends. It's just a little shop so it can get a little cramped if it's busy, but thats part of the character of the store. You just don't find too many of these old school hobby/collectables shops around anymore. read more

I think this Owner- should not own the baseball shop he presently does and should honestly watch how he speaks to his customers and what he says. He sold me a legit fake autographed baseball card from for $100.00 knowing it was was a surprise and was for my boyfriend for his birthday- the owner was such a PHONY so pleasant and kind filling me with all this "knowledge" all the weeks up until the final payment was made- which was all BS in the end- When I gave this as a present I learned its a fake card- The same card with a COA is only worth $45.00. The owner legit SCREWED me- he is rude and his son is ruder. They both said in front of a whole store of other POTENTIAL customers.." why doesn't your boyfriend just be a man and come down here himself"?? Needless to say those POTENTIAL customers saw the nasty ignorant side of the so called "nice owner who has so much knowledge about base ball and coins" they decided to walk out of the store with no hesitation. I stayed and ignored all the rudeness as he told me he was willing to do an exchange with me. Keep in mind I paid $100.00 for the FAKE worthless card..and so I asked for a box of Bowman Chrome cards he was selling for way over suggested price, however they were being sold for $80.00 I would have dealt with losing the $20.00, he said no- because he needs to make $ off those and I used a debit card and that charges him at the end of every month- however again I was willing to call the $20.00 a loss- $100.00 for a box of Bowman Chrome- not bad in my eyes- but for a money hungry, lying thief- he'll do anything to Screw ANYONE! Nothing in that store is legit if you ask for a COA he gives you a receipt- from online websites- with other people's names on the receipt. Receipts from "Share Homes"- Share Homes sells autographed baseball's and cards?? Then the coins he cells- this man goes around the city picks up coins off the ground and names them what he wants someone with no knowledge, trying to buy a gift for someone special who loves these little things- and Screws the buyer brutally! This man is a Heartless worthless and an Ignorant man who will never ever get my business ever again- I would love to hold a sign outside his business to warn people what they are walking into! read more
