They have prompt delivery and pickup (+1). Just be careful of the overweight charge which is quite steep. Apparently my dumpster went into the "overcharge" range which I struggled a bit to understand. I did not think the old planking from my deck would add up to so much weight. Whatever you do, do not hire this company. Seriously. They never pick up the dumpsters. I've had a dumpster at my house for 3+ days due to their incompetence. On 9/9 I called to order a dumpster. Was told they are backed up so we scheduled it to be picked up on 9/17. On 9/17 they don't show up. I call and they say they can try and pick up on Saturday 9/18. They don't show. I call at 9am on 9/20 and was told I'm definitely on the schedule today. Call back at 430 pm and am told "you're still being picked up today, our guys work until 7pm." At 6:40 pm I call back and get their answering service who says "all i can do is take a message and pass it along." I want this dumpster removed from my property. Do not hire them if you actually want someone to take your garbage. read more

Was a customer of baystate disposal for nearly 20 years. They recently got bought out and the new company winwaste innovations is unusable. Baystate was reliable, friendly and honest company to deal with and deserved 10 stars but unfortunately the new company is none of these and has become unusable as a vendor. Very sad for our loss of a great vendor and very happy for Sean at Baystate for cashing out after years of hard work. They were able to deliver the dumpster at the price quoted. On the other hand: 1) they have no idea what scheduling means, 2) they have no terms and conditions or any other documentation in connection to a contract (aside from prohibited items and weight limits) so if you encounter an issue they will basically say "that's what you say" and shrug it off, 3) for a small company, they seem to have no idea how to document who took what order and when, or how to communicate internally as I had to explain the same experience to four people before they simply arrived at Point 2), and 4) they seem to be generally more expensive then competition. Advice to Customers: If you need a dumpster quickly, they should be able to help you. If you don't, search elsewhere. read more

I ordered a 20 yard dumpster for a home project, and filled it to the top(as does everyone that rents a dumpster). We were charged a $135 overage fee for going over the 6,000 lb limit. I didn't think much of it, but then I looked at their website and realized they dropped off a 30 yd dumpster, which has an 8,000 lb limit(our dumpster weighed just over 7,000 lbs. I called to ask why they couldn't just charge me for the 30 yard price, since that was the dumpster they delivered. They said it doesn't work like that? It's only a $55 difference, but dropping off a bigger dumpster(which how would I know, I am not a dumpster expert) but then holding the customer to a lower weight limit is nonsense. read more

It may seem strange for me to characterize a disposal company as a "breath of fresh air," but believe me, the analogy applies. Our business switched from Waste Mgmt a year ago, and we are very pleased with the service we receive from Bay State Disposal. Their terms are clear, we've had excellent communication with their local representative, their prices are excellent. We also used Bay State for a home project and were extremely pleased. We have been a customer of Bay State for 3 years and suddenly they started missing our business with their pick ups. I called to let them know that my dumpster is completely full and they have not come to pick up for two weeks. They didn't care and just said they will pick it up next week on the normal weekly pick up time- which again they have missed for two weeks. In the meantime trash is piling up at the back door. I cancelled my account and they said they will be charging cancellation fees despite the fact I am cancelling due to the fact they are not performing the services I pay for. Baystate Disposal showed up in residential neighborhood at 5:50 AM. Dropped a 30 yd dumpster in the street in front of my house. When I went out to ask what he was doing and tell him 7AM is the law for starting work he ignored me and kept going. I called his office and spoke to owner who said he would tell driver to stop until 7AM. Driver did not stop and subsequent call to office was passed off and they said he was almost done. For 40 minutes Truck beeping, banging and clanging as he took a full dumptster out of neighbors yard and then delivered the empty one he originally placed in front of my house. Obviously not regard for law and worse was telling me he would call his driver but never did. DON'T HIRE BAYSTATE unless you want to disrupt your whole neighborhood read more

I've worked with a few dumpster companies and I have to say their service has been great. I used a company prior to them that had random charges for oil, computer parts, electronics, and whatever. With Baystate, I just dumped everything in and of it goes. It was painless. They worked with me via email and over the phone which was great because my schedule was all over the place. I've used Bay State three times over the last few years and have never had a complete. I tend to hold onto my dumpsters for probably longer than I ought to, so their $1 per day pricing is great for me! Whenever I've used them, they drop off the dumpster within a day or two and pick them up within a day or two. read more

We were satisfied with the service we were receiving from Bay State Disposal...until damage was done to our driveway. We initially said that we would not be putting in a claim but we reconsidered after seeing the damage done by the truck was considerable. We notified the driver because we were concerned it may negatively impact his personal job performance. He said it happens all the time and not to worry about it. Before he left asked us to sign an 'acknowledgement' that the dumpster was picked up. In the past the dumpsters were picked up a without any type of signature but we didn't think much about signing an acknowledgement. When we put in a claim to fix the damage caused by the truck we were told we signed a waiver on that day releasing this company from any accountability for the damage. In review of the situation we realized we were only presented with something to sign this one time and it was dishonestly presented as a simple acknowledgement that a service was provided. Sure enough there was fine print in the document we signed saying they were not responsible for damages done by their heavy equipment. This is a very dishonest business practice and we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Beware of this company if anything goes wrong. Their driver failed to check the clearance of his truck. I specifically asked what i should move to make sure he had room. He told me to move my garbage cans but the furniture i had sitting outside to be thrown into the dumpster wasn't in his way. It turns out that it was indeed in his way and my basement window was broken because of it. The driver assured me that the office would take care of it and that I should email them pictures of the window and tell them what happened. He said that he too would contact the office after his next delivery to let them know what happened. When I spoke to them that day they told me to get an estimate for the replacement window and email that to them. So far so good. I thought that I was dealing with a professional company. Once I had the estimate I called the office several times and was continuously told that someone would get back to me. Nobody ever called back. I would call again, they would tell me that i would get a call back, and no call ever came. This went on for two months until I finally had to order the window myself. Each time I asked for the name of their insurance company they refused to give it to me. My home owner's insurance company advised me to pay the $500 deductible and they would file an insurance claim against Bay State. So far they have refused to disclose who their insurance company is. I've used this company in the past and always had good experiences. For this particular time i would have given them four stars. The only thing that would have prevented a 5 star review was that I was told that the dumpster delivery would be done in the morning and it was late afternoon before they arrived. You can tell a lot more about a company with how they handle things that go wrong. This is a company that should not be trusted. read more

I've used them for years as a contractor. They are much higher than other dumpster co's, but their ton limit and "we take everything" made it worth it. They dropped "we take everything" and i was charged $1,275 for a 40 yard dumpster, even though when ordered they still honored this. Find a reasonably price company. read more

My company has been using Bay State Disposal for about 10 years for everything from construction projects to apartment clean outs and they have never let us down. They deliver and pick up quickly, their drivers can slide the roll offs into even the tightest spaces and we have never been charged any bogus "overweight" fees like we have with almost every other dumpster company. We rented a dumpster for a general house clean-out. With a friend's recommendation, we found Bay State Disposal to have the best prices without the exclusions (i.e. electronics) that other companies had. We received prompt delivery and removal on our scheduled dates. The office staff were very courteous and e-mailed invoices right away. Awful and overpriced roll off service. Order a dumpster for first thing in the morning with a weeks notice and you get it at 3pm. I asked the driver what the delay in delivery was and he said "I was done with my day and they called me and told me to drop this." Wow, that's some customer service right there.
