We slept so soundly as it was so quiet there in the woods. It is near town (we rode our bikes) for food and sight seeing, groceries, the beach, and walks. The manager, Cynthia, was so nice and helpful. She really made our stay enjoyable. We loved sitting on the deck relaxing. The grounds are nicely landscaped with flower beds and hardwoods. It's a short walking distance to the northern beach area and the Beaver Island Lodge Restaurant. We are definitely going to stay here again.

But they're friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They were a perfect waypoint for us on our trip through the Upper Peninsula. Looking over the website prior to calling for availability, they're up front about their pet policy. They state that they'll accept pets depending on size, breed, and temperament for a $10 up charge. The owner came out and met our 70 pound labradoodle and after a minute was very welcoming. Not sure if we could have brought one much bigger, but ours is gentle and affectionate, so I imagine the combination of big but soft tempered was good enough. At any rate, I'd happily spend a night here again. My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

Stayed for two nights in cabin 6. Cabin was very clean. (Almost too clean as it had a very strong…read morebleach smell as we walked in). The view of the lake from our cabin was amazing. Only gave them 4 stars because one window was missing a screen and we couldn't get wifi from our cabin. I'm guessing that cabin 5 wouldn't get real great Wi-Fi signal either based on observations made while walking around. Its also kind of a hassle that they only take cash/check, but they do make you aware of this when you make reservations. The beds arent the most comfortable, but I sleep pretty easily wherever I am. The entire property is pretty gorgeous. We didn't use the kayaks or boats but they appeared to be in decent shape. We used the firepit and there was firewood provided. The screened in porch was very nice to have for drinking the morning coffee and listening to nature. I'd definitely go back!
