This woman was told she was the best in her field, she was requested by family's and she went above and beyond because this was not just a job and paycheck it was her life. Bringing comfort and peace to family's in a difficult time made her happy. She was asked to apply for an office job with hope heath in Hyannis and she felt pride that the company would consider her for that job. Every day she would show up to her new position with the intention to do better than the day before during the learning process. This woman has touched the lives of so many people and Hospice was lucky to have her. What she didn't know was that doing your best didn't matter in the office, what mattered was making friends with the right people and "bonding". She was terminated yesterday after she was sabotaged day after day by her supervisor. This woman gave her heart and sole to this company and the families who needed them and was shown no decency. I myself tried to press her to seek a wrongful termination lawsuit but being the good woman that she is, she refused. "God has a plan and knows right from wrong". A company who claims to give hope and help to families who are losing someone they love dearly, instructs their cna's and nurses to have boundaries and not develop personal relationships with the family they visit and take care of every day for years sometimes. Since when and in what world is going above and beyond in a job that you love punishable? This company owes her at the very LEAST a sincere apology, and should be ashamed. Hospice has already punished themselves by turning away one of the best and most caring employees they will have ever had, it truly is a loss to the company. It may well concern proper patient care. I am no stranger to nursing home facilities. I have worked as an Aide and had a family member die in one. I was rushed and the receptionist was snippy. I never even got to the review a horrible older woman rushed out of the office and accused me of being unfriendly when I was the one who was the recipient of bad reception at the desk. The attitude of support staff (office reception) reflects the attitude of the facility.
