I've been a patient for a short time. Yet im very impressed with everyone i've dealt with, from the receptionist to the Docs. I've seen Dr. Najarian and staff for carpel tunnel issues. They accurately diagnosed & treated with a type of steroid shot, but I required outpatient surgery. I'm writing a separate review for CCO PT department which is on the lower level of the same building as the doctor's offices. First of all the reception desk staff are busy ladies with warm smiles. But, Melinda was like an old friend to me. Whether I was a little late, soaked from a downpour or just having a bad day, she was compassionate, sweet and no matter how busy, gave me the few minutes I needed to catch my breath. This is my 3rd time doing PT (physical therapy) with them and I will continue to use only this group because of how impressed I have been with the quality and friendliness of Caleb Latimer, PT, DPT, OCS. He is kind, sweet, usually gentle, but more importantly he is very knowledgeable, smart, and professional. When I say this guy knows his stuff, I mean it! He can hone in on a trigger point with painfully accurate precision (and often does)! As the Harbormaster, he keeps an eye on every client and makes sure he checks in with everyone at some point during their treatments. With Captain Caleb at the helm, you can count on smooth sailing no matter which part of your body needs his astute attention. He also has a fantastic sense of humor and is the single best audience for bad jokes. The dude laughs at the dumbest Dad type jokes!!! That's part of his sweet and gentle personality. This winter, I went to PT at CC Orthopedic in Hyannis to address a shoulder pain issue. I had been there in the past and received excellent care. This time around, not so good. Initially my therapist seemed engaged and knowledgeable. By the 3rd week, he seemed to being "mailing it in". Same exact stretches for 8 weeks. I was not showing much improvement, unfortunately. Nice guy but he seemed bored with his job. No final evaluation; just said to call upstairs for an appt with a surgeon, and "have a nice weekend". Next I completed the online request for an appointment. Never heard back. Called and scheduled an appt with the surgeon. If further PT is advised, I think I'll go elsewhere. Many of the excellent physical therapists who were there just 2 years ago are no longer there. (Kudos to Jason...he provides top notch care.) read more

I visited the practice on 7-30 and was instructed to get an MRI of my ankle. I did such 2 days later. I was told by them my orthopedic doctor will contact me with the the Results. It is now 8-26 and I can not get anyone to return my calls after several attempts. This is RIDICULOUS!! read more

The drs might be excellent but you dont get to see them because their office staff diesnt answer the phone. When I complained they put it on me for getting upset aftet 4 wks of trying to get an appt. They were rude, unprofessional and unreasonable They kept telling me to call but they never answer or call you back! Absolutely rediculous!! Ended going off Cape. read more

I needed physical therapy for my shoulder in July. They were booked until Mid August. They asked my physician to sent over the referral, which she did. I called them asking when we could schedule an appointment. They said they needed more information. Pls have physician fax it. She did, I called them again and they told me 11AM August 16th. I show up for my PT there is no appointment logged in to the system. The next available is now all the way out in August 25th. They also misplaced the order. Can the physician fax it again. I am here on vacation, will leave the 3rd week of September. I will get my PT at home. The scheduling at this place is way crazy and incompetent. read more

I almost did not go to this practice although my sister had referred me to Dr. Nigerian. Unfortunately I looked on yelp and was left confused and thinking that she must be wrong. I wish I hadn't looked at yelp. In reading the reviews before I went, I expected the waiting room to be crowded, the parking lot to be full, and to have a hard time communicating with the office; especially regarding appointments. ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THOSE COMPLAINTS WERE TRUE. In fact, the office was always helpful for me. I even changed one appointment from the Hyannis office to the sandwich office with absolutely zero problems. I''m so glad that I listened to my sister and went ahead to Cape Cod Orthopedics. I found a spotlessly clean waiting room and office, and it is obviously a very careful practice regarding Covid. You can call them for their procedure. I haven't been into any grocery stores or shopping in general because of Covid, so I was very skeptical about entering a large crowd at this office. It was NOT crowded as it had sounded like it would be by previous reviewer's reports on yelp. They only allow a few screened patients in the large space at a time. I first saw Ian Knapton, who is Dr. Nigerian's PA. He was very kind and considerate and I easily understood what he was telling me as he took the time to re-explain if I needed it. The next appointment that I had was with Dr. Nigerian. I couldn't have been more pleased as he was thorough and understanding and I felt confident that I was getting the best treatment possible for my broken wrist. To make a very long story short, don't be fooled by some of the comments on yelp about this practice. You could not possibly find a better practice even if you went to Boston in my opinion. read more

I had full ankle replacement surgery by Dr James Boyle on December 22, 2021, and it went extremely well. The staff took x-rays of my ankle for the consult and gave me options given I had virtually no cartilage left and a lot of spurs between the ankle bones. I had 5 weeks of pre-hab with the Cape Cod Orthopedics Physical Therapy team in the basement of the Cape Cod Orthopedics doctors' office that increased my ability to get up from sitting and move forward, sidewards and backward with confidence. reduced the recovery time and increased my ability to get around within a few weeks of the surgery. I had balance problems as well as pain and weakness in both ankles. 4 months after the procedure, my replaced ankle is working much better and with less pain than the other one. Recovery went exactly on the schedule predicted - 3 weeks in cast, 3 weeks in boot with increasing ability to use the ankle every week, then 3 weeks in a brace pretty much able to move at will, with increasing endurance. read more

Customer service here is awful. Referred for a follow-up ER visit for a sprained ankle, I arrived early and waited an hour before requesting my co-pay refunded (what are the chances?). If there is a delay, TELL THE PATIENT! Don't make injured people gobble up every 15 minutes to check appointment status. Is that too hard?! BTW, they did not ask me if I needed/wanted to reschedule. read more

I have been to see Dr Jesse Affonso a few times and I am so grateful for his extremely kind & wise suggestions. His cortisone shots to my shoulder worked like magic. He is very non pushy and lets you make a decision whether or not you need the shot right then. But thankfully he does make suggestions (which have been perfect each time!) read more

In waiting room social distancing not practiced moved twice because someone sat 3ft away. Wheelchairs brought in after bringing patients to and from vehicles etc, lined up not being sanitized spending 40 min waiting no one wiped down anything (X-ray technician was only person following protocol cleaning between patients) I was kept waiting in exam room half an hour with I my arms folded so I wouldn't touch anything Very disappointed. WON'T BE RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE I'm going to Plymouth for 2nd opinion. After everything going great up to 9th week appt 12 week appt and now I need surgery read more

This doctors office was one of the most organized one I have ever seen. You walk into a nice glass enclosed waiting area where there are 4 receptionist waiting to check you in. I waited maybe 10 minutes in the waiting room which to me is great compared to most orthopedic establishments. The doctor I saw was very nice and explained everything to me as to what his plan was. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I have now seen two doctors at this office for two separate problems. On both occasions I felt very rushed out the door. It seems the doctors are on a strict schedule of 5-10 minute appointments. When I needed surgery I did not use these doctors. In fact when I did need surgery I used Plymouth Bay Orthopedics which I highly recommend. Have used this practice 2-3 times, and the experience has been consistent: good doctors and PAs, but practice management that does not seem to give a damn about patients. Trying to call to change an appointment can take forever-- get through the phone tree, leave a message, blah blah. When THEY need to change your appointment, you're given one choice, never mind your work schedule. The receptionists are as pleasant as they can be, but they're beaten down by the terrible system. This practice should fire their practice manager and try again. read more

As a nurse, healthcare executive, and former patient, I highly recommend Dr. Remia. He is THE physician you want and need for your joint replacement and care. Before choosing Dr. Remia, I did extensive research on orthopedic physicians practicing on the Cape, Boston, and elsewhere. I checked quality measures (such as infection rates, patient satisfaction scores) and asked physicians, nurses, physical therapists and others who they would go to for joint replacement. Over and over, I heard Dr. Remia's name and the reasons why he was their #1 choice--his technical expertise, how quickly his patients heal, and his commitment to sending patients home directly from the hospital with VNA and physical therapy visits. My entire experience from start to finish was truly exceptional. Dr. Remia, his care team, and office staff are the best of the best--they are experts at what they do but, also, respectful, compassionate, friendly, and very efficient. Today, I am the grateful owner of 2 new hips. One hip was replaced on a Monday, and the 2nd was done 2 days later. I was discharged to home after less than a week in the hospital and back to work 2 weeks later. I have my life back again and I'm indebted to Dr. Remia and his team. read more

The billing department is so screwed up. They keep sending me the same wrong bill over and over again. I sent them the receipts for the co-pays many times and now they sent me a final notice that my account will be transferred to a collection agency. So frustrating to have to deal with them every month and they just can't fix the problem. For this reason, STAY AWAY! That's my advice. read more

The major complaint regarding this medical group of doctors is their TOTAL reliance on voicemail. You never get to speak with an individual and wait forever for a return call which many times never happens! This even extends to trying to make an appointment or ask a question. You try to speak with the doctors nurse assistant for questions and that is a huge delay as well. One nurse voicemail says she is out for 2-3 weeks in her message. This is definitely not the place for someone who needs immediate or prompt attention. That can easily takes many days to weeks. read more

I've been going to CC Ortho for 5 years with OA in the right knee. A month ago I tweaked the left knee and went in to see if it could be diagnosed. First off - I've never been given the opportunity to see Dr. Willis - Even though I've asked, I've always been scheduled with his PA. His former PA - Jim Thomas was excellent - listened, took you seriously, made good diagnosis and suggestions for treatment. He left 2 years ago, and the new PA - Trent Hiles is beyond a joke. He's arrogant, disrespectful, doesn't take women seriously, and all he tried to do is sell me a Knee Replacement. With my current left knee problem, the first comment out of his mouth upon walking into the examining room was - 'well you know, you're 60 years old'. Really??? And your point??? Tell me something I don't already know. When I explained my knee issue, and he had looked at the X-rays, his comment was 'well you have arthritis in the left knee too, so it really doesn't matter what else is going on in the knee, because there's nothing we can do about it'. He only performed 1 modality on my knee and declared 'well, your MCL seems fine, might be a slight tear in the Meniscus or Patellar Tendonitis.' He gave me a shot of cortisone, and that was that. He didn't even do the correct test on my knee for an MCL issue. I could go on and on, but I'll keep it brief. Today I had an appointment at Brigham and Women's with a real doctor who properly diagnosed my issue as a Grade 2 MCL tear. This validated what I had suspected for the past 4 weeks but couldn't get Trent to take me seriously. The doctors at Brigham and Women's are extremely professional, very empathetic, compassionate, and they know their craft cold. It was so refreshing to hear a doctor say 'Yup you have arthritis but there's also a mechanical problem with the knee and we need to properly diagnose it. I was given proper instructions on helping the knee to heal (and after a month, it is on it's way to healing), so I can get back to my active and athletic lifestyle, which by the way I will not be giving up anytime soon just because of a silly number. This is the first negative experience with a doctor/doctor's office I've had in 20 years of living on the Cape. I now understand first hand why so many people prefer to see doctors off Cape - and for any future issues with my knees, I'll go back to Brigham and Womens. In my opinion about the only thing CC Ortho is good for is giving people shots - that's the only thing I'll go back to CC Ortho for - my Hyalgan shots in the right knee every 6 months. My advice is - if you're an older, active woman and you develop knee issues, don't request Dr. Willis - there's a couple of other very good knee doctors in that practice - ask for one of them - or else go off Cape - Brigham and Women's has my vote. read more

Both myself and my husband have been treated at Cape Cod Orthopaedics. I was seen by Dr Najarian and my husband by Dr Morgenstein. My husband also had OT by Caleb and a lot of splint changes with Chris. Both were great.The office staff was so helpful in navigating the paperwork. Linda was a great help here. Both doctors listened to all of our questions and concerns and explained all treatment options. Dr Morgenstein was especially helpful given the nature of my husbands injury. He was able to put a broken arm back in place with great skill in the ER. He also had extreme patience in dealing with my advocacy for him. Both docs, especially, him, were willing to listen to our concerns and customize care. With my husband, we did not want a surgical option. We really didn't and Dr Morgenstein really helped us weigh the pros and cons and didn't push us into a surgery, which may have been a faster fix. Dr Morgenstein has fresh training, good insight and really cares about his patients. He also is not offended if you ask for a second opinion and encouraged us to get one. Dr Najarian is also a great doctor with great bedside manner and really helped put my mind at ease during a hand surgery. It is very stressful to have traumatic injuries and to have doctors you can count on to put you first is essential! read more

I saw Trent, a physician's attendant for Dr. Willits. He was fabulous! The office is very busy, as it serves as one of the only orthopedic offices on the cape, so expect to wait and bring a good book. The wait was well worth it, because Trent spent good quality time with me addressing all of my options for my arthritic knees. I have been to many orthopedic doctors in the last several years and he supersedes all others with great service and pain options. I highly recommend Trent and Dr. Willits! read more

Once I got to see the doctor I was referred to, there were no issues.... However, getting to that point took 3 visits! Visit #1) The NP that couldn't assist at all and eventually referred me to another doc in the practice (not the right one) Visit #2) The next doc was a specialist, but NOT FOR THE AREA THAT WAS INJURED! Visit #3) I saw some kind of adaptive insert guy, but again... Not the doc I was referred to. Visit #4) After MRI's and X-Rays, I saw another doc (finally the correct one) and was sent to a Neurologist. Unfortunately, I used up the 3 visits I had coming to me just trying to see the right guy! And then they sent me a bill for $215 because my insurance only covers 3 visits! If they had allowed me to see the DOCTOR I WAS REFERRED TO BY MY GP THE FIRST TIME, I WOULDN'T BE STUCK WITH A BILL! The front office is chaotic, rude, rushing and completely inept. If you have a choice, and you value your time and sanity, TRY TO FIND A DIFFERENT PRACTICE! And the problem was never solved or addressed by them... Only passed on to another doctor to figure out. Luckily my neurologist was able to figure out the problem. read more

A most unprofessional establishment. Went here last June for a bum knee. Doctor recommended an MRI and revisit in 2 weeks. Three MRI's were scheduled and cancelled due to insurance issues. The insurance company needed a peer-to-peer consult with doctor to schedule MRI. After 2 months of calls to the office and assurances that the doctor would call the insurance company within the next few days, the phone call NEVER happened. I have NEVER been to a medical practice where the doctor DID NOT DO HIS JOB. Many phone calls and even a written letter did not prompt the doctor to call the insurance company. I will never go there again or ever recommend them. read more
