I enjoyed the stay in Aspen cabin. It was 10F outside but the hot tub was 104F and I very much enjoyed soaking at night and taking in the stars and beauty of Homer! The cabin was comfortable had all the expected amenities and was perfect for a weekend getaway. I could probably stay during the week and work remote from the dining table and enjoy the breathtaking view of the spit and bay. If you enjoy the beauty of sunsets and sunrises this is place to book! Baycrest Lodge was a great choice for accommodations in Homer. I nearly wish I'd done a bit more research before arriving because I really could have made my stay even better. The space was such great size, living room, dining room, large room, kitchen etc. I would have gone grocery shopping and possibly cooked or baked in the kitchen. This is a perfect spot to book for a solo trip, couples getaway and family trip. So much space. Incredible views, hot tub, massive lawn, firepit and more. I'm not sure you'll find any better than this property. I'd return in a heartbeat at a different time of the year when there's more going on. read more

I've been drooling over Baycrests' accommodations for a few years now. I was grateful to have finally booked The Alder for my 11th year marriage anniversary stay-cation. Staying in the winter and arriving in the dark, I appreciated how the entire property was well lit with beautiful hanging lights you could see from the highway. We were contacted via text, the day of our stay, with clear check-in instructions. It was our first time there, and it was great to experience a stress free check-in, where we knew exactly where to park and where to go from there. The property as a whole is gorgeous with great attention to detail and craftsmanship. The Alder, located on top of The Fireweed unit, has its own private entrance and private staircase that lead to the shared yard. The Alder is immaculate and looks just like the pictures. We were greeted by a huge private deck equipped with a grill, sitting area, and private hot tub. Large windows to take in the breathtaking views. The floors immediately caught my attention, they were beautiful. The unit is large, rustic, classy, and clean. We appreciated having two bathrooms, two TV's, and a large tub. We were comfortable and had everything we needed. We had the well equipped bonfire area to ourselves...both times. We appreciated the silicone cups to use while in the hot tub. It was truly a wonderful experience to be warm under the stars, drink in hand. Having read reviews prior to check-in, it surprised me to read the Fireweed Unit is often bothered by noise from the Alder Unit. In an effort to be considerate of our neighbors below us, I noticed I became a bit of a nag towards my spouse. Because of this, I think Baycrests' newer ranch style units are better suited for our needs. At sunrise, we were in for a treat, when we were greeted by the views of beautiful Kachemak Bay. You don't even have to step on the private porch to see it. But of course we had to. We also visited the shared swing and bench area, right on the bluff. Wow, amazing views. Other than the need to stay quiet, staying here during winter, I was looking forward to utilizing the cozy fireplace. Unfortunately, It just would not work for us. I also noticed the fireplace was an amenity excluded from the helpful information book. We can't wait to return and stay in one of the more private units. Thank you Baycrest Lodge. read more

First review. Never really review but feel obligated because it was so nice! The review from Michele D summed it up very well. Attention to detail is amazing. Examples are the surge protectors next to each side of the downstairs Lupine bed that have USB charging ports, as well as an ice scraper hanging from the netting/fence in the parking area. Keurig with amazing selection for the caffeine addicted. Easy method for removing and replacing the hot tub cover. In addition, there is a wash station inside the arctic entry. Very well done. Fire pit - awesome Views - really awesome Hot tub - really really awesome and hits the spot for winter evenings. There is only one possible way for someone to see you. Hard to explain, but very private for being a little bit in the open. Swimsuits recommended, but night time skinny dip very possible even for the very timid if you are paying attention. Even though the physical property seems a bit tight (cramped is far too strong a word) to the other units, the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure privacy. Very affordable given the amazing attention to detail. Pictures posted by others are very accurate for the space. Wife and I were both absolutely thrilled with the property and we will definitely be back. Whenever we stay in Homer, this is the spot!! My family booked Lupine, Aspen, and Birch to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It was perfect! My Dad said, 'this place and view is something right out of a movie!'. It was everything you needed in a place for a week. The website does well stating all the amenities and I would say the pictures don't do it justice - it is a great place, and just outside of town - it felt remote. The views were amazing...watching the eagles in the evening was a treat. Jen was very responsive via email and text/call when there. We definitely want to go back and have already shared the place with others. We don't like doing things every day, so having a place with such amazing views was exactly what we want/need. They also had outdoor games with Lupine and games inside when it rained. I would stay at any of the 3 places we stayed - just depends on how many people you have in your party. They do a really nice job with the decor and separation of places as well - it felt very private. highly recommend and would stay here again. read more

We are local and getting away for a anniversary. The cabin is absolutely beautiful inside, the decor is gorgeous and I don't want to leave from the fireplace to the everything you could need kitchen and the crazy comfy bed with completely breathtaking view of lower cook Inlet and the mouth of kachemak Bay. Augustine volcano is right out in front. For a couple wanting a getaway with privacy and amazing comfort I would suggest checking it out! read more

My husband and I took our honeymoon in Homer, AK. How we decided on the small town of Homer, was we first found a place to stay. Baycrest Lodge has everything we were looking for, was affordable, and had great reviews. So we decided they would be the best to go with. Oh man were we correct! The Baycrest Lodge was an amazing place to stay. We stayed at the Fireweed. They lodge it's self was beautiful on the inside and out. The private hot tub was delightful too! We loved having a kitchen, it saved us so much money being able to cook our meals instead of having to eat out. The view from the lodge is breathtaking. It over looks the Kechmak Bay and The State Park with the mountains. They also provide a maid service, which is nice. The owners are very kind and helpful. We had to check in outside of their "check in" hours. They worked with us and made check in and check out a breeze. When we first arrived, we even had the chance to see two moose in the backyard! That was a surprise! Overall, it was an amazing place to stay. read more

The Lupine home is everything we hoped it would be and so much more. From the very beginning, the owner Jen was very easy to get a hold of and answered every question we had. On the day of arrival we were running a couple hours early but it was no problem at all. Jen told us to come right over. For the first 30 minutes, we all walked around admiring the beautiful home and backyard views. The upstairs bedroom, with a very large private bath and huge closet, had a beautiful deck overlooking the backyard and Katchemak Bay. The other upstairs bedroom has its own bath, as does the downstairs bedroom. A very important detail for couples traveling together. The kitchen has every amenity you could possibly need: not a hodge podge of mismatched items but sturdy, new cooking utensils and pots and pans with tons of dishes and glasses including wine glasses. Large refrig, stove and dishwasher, microwave, Keurig. Bar seating for 8 and an extra large table for 8. A large bbq is on the back deck. The owners have thought of every detail and it clearly shows: large mud room with dozens of hooks for jackets and shoes/boots. Laundry room with washer and dryer and large counter top, books, dvds and games. Big fluffy towels along with lovely toiletries and even 'make up' washcloths (lovely touch) in all the bathrooms. King and Queen sized comfy beds with numerous electrical plugs within easy reach of the night stand. So important for electronics. Black out drapes for those long summer nights. Easy to use hot tub including towels (John, the owner checks the water and chemical levels daily). We especially loved the large family with two huge couches and two chairs. Very comfy to sit and relax and watch tv or the scenery, or catch a nap. The decks have numerous sturdy chairs and small tables. There is a huge fire pit area and a horse shoe pit located in the middle of a beautiful huge lawn. The planters are decorated with huge driftwood and 'sea' items such as anchors and traps. Very lovely. The craftsmanship put into this home by the owners is very apparent and very appreciated: beautiful wooden counter tops in the laundry room, kitchen bar area and bathrooms. Wooden ceiling beams throughout. Lovely tile floors throughout, as well as beautiful tiled showers. The radiant floor heating in the bathroom was such a nice touch after taking a shower. The colors used throughout the home are warm and inviting. The huge windows are positioned perfectly for enjoying the views of the backyard and bay. We are already planning our next trip and plan to rent the two next door rentals in addition to the Lupine House. The owner was kind enough to give us a tour of the Alder and the Fire weed apartments. They are both lovely and built along the same lines as the Lupine House.
