This was our first time staying at the Bayfront Marin. There is a lot of history about this property. Very nice and great location, easy to walk around downtown to see all the sights of St. Augustine. The room was spacious, smaller bathroom but not too small. The bed, pillows and blankets need to be updated as the bed was not comfortable. Check in was great and all automated if you accept access via text communication. Breakfast was nice, delivered to our room. It was freshly made and very tasty. There is seating on the balcony outside of the room that was very comfortable. Imagine that... singing and being joyful. Some people simply cannot stand to see others having harmless fun. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE.... I used "reservationdesk.com" (Expedia-?) to make this reservation. The agent PROMISED that we would be on a second floor with a BAYFRONT VIEW. When we arrived at the MARIN HOUSE B&B, there was no waterfront view at all, and we were on the first floor, crammed into a little corner on the property. At check-in, we were basically told that, it's your problem because we used a third-party ("reservationdesk.com"). FINALLY, a week later, we finally got our receipt. Marin House said that they could not even give us a receipt because we went through a third-party. So, one week later, I see that we were charged for three nights, even though we checked out after the first night. ReservationDesk.com said that they contacted Marin House, who told them that since we checked out after the first night, it was against their B&B POLICY, and they are refusing to refund FOR THE TWO NIGHTS THAT WE WERE NOT EVEN THERE!!!!! EVEN THOUGH WE WERE LIED TO ABOUT THE ROOM. Sandy, the owner, got her britches into a big bunch because we were singing, and our choice of language apparently offended the geriatric crowd there.... We recently stayed at one of the rental homes managed by Bayfront Marin House. The experience was perfect from start to finish. We were treated with such care and felt so welcome. The directions and instructions for check in were a breeze and the home was lovely, clean and very comfortable. The B&B invited us to events they had on site for guests and were available for any question we had about the stay. Breakfast was excellent and a terrific start to the day. The B&B and rental homes are located close to the historical sites and shops of St. Augustine and within a very short walk. We are already taking about coming back next year! This is such a quaint and charming B&B! The location has views of the harbor and is well maintained (and adorable). There is a loading/unloading zone for one car and parking a couple of blocks away. The location is within walking distance to the historic district and yet removed enough to be quiet for relaxation and sleep. The breakfast is made to order ahead of time (with preferences in mind) and served to your preferred location. What a nice touch! We had to unload our items in the front unloading zone then park in the Oldest House parking lot nearby. There is no onsite parking. The B&B texted us about our room, happy hour and breakfast preferences. You can have your breakfast in your room or outside in the courtyard tables. The breakfast was good. We just texted them to check out. The view of the bay is the highlight here. You can also see the view of the lighthouse from the courtyard. The Nepoleon room was clean and cozy. We stayed at the beach cottages and we're so glad we did. The check in process was very easy and we had a designated parking spot. They also give you a parking pass for downtown which was a plus. You're also able to enjoy their complimentary happy hour at the inn downtown. We stayed at the Royal Palm and you do share a wall with another suite so keep that in mind. If you have good neighbors your stay is great but the day we left a loud family checked in and they would've ruined our trip. The room had a full small kitchen with everything we needed. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. They offer beach chairs and beach towels as well. There was no house cleaning due to covid so dumping our trash and getting towels was a pain. Having someone change the sheets after 3 days wouldve been nice. They should offer the cleaning service and let the customers decide if they want it or not. They do have a texting service so if you need anything you can text them. I do wish they would've texted daily asking if we needed anything just to add to the customer service. Bring your own hair dryer and bath products. You're given on set but then that's it. I do wish they had screens on their windows. We always kept the windows open but with birds and bugs it made it a little hard. The breakfast was decent but hardly any protein so definitely recommend going to Publix which is nearby and grabbing some eggs. It was OJ, a piece of fruit, yogurt, pastry and then a main dish. A lot of sugar. Bring your own coffee! They do supply half/half and sugar. The kitchen is nice to make lunch but no gourmet cooking. All in all it was a great stay but there is some room for improvement if they just took that extra step. read more

What a delightful bed & breakfast! Historic happy place! We stayed three nights at this charming b&b. We were met on arrival by the pleasant owner. She gave us a warm welcome & directed us to our room. It was cozy & elaborately decorated with antiqued furniture, hard wood floors & area rugs. The only thing we did not care for in the room was the very odd jacuzzi-shower unit. It was difficult to climb into and out of the jacuzzi to use the shower. Also, our pedestal sink had a few cracks, but I'm guessing that it was a genuine antique so probably not authenticity replaceable. The Marin House followed strict Covid protocols and communicated via text from start to finish. We were alerted when our room was ready, asked about what we would like to drink with happy hour, breakfast selections & what time we wanted our breakfast & happy hour trays delivered to our room. And they were all on time! The entire staff was courteous & friendly, and they made us feel so welcome! Through no fault of the b&b, St Augustine experienced bad street flooding on one day of our stay. There was no way in or out due to street closures & flooding. We were stuck in our rooms. The staff sprang into action, sending out texts to explain the situation, encouraging us that once the tide went down, so would the flood waters. Most of the staff could not make it to work that day but those who were there were outstanding! They offered us cheese, crackers, eggs, fruit, & drinks to keep us fed until the waters receded. I want to stress that these folks went above & beyond to see to our comfort throughout the four days we spent with them! They were gracious, pleasant, & made us feel like family. We have been coming to St. Augustine for years but always stay at the same inn. I actually booked this trip last minute due to COVID restrictions and unsure if we wanted to travel. The inn we usually stay at did not have 3 consecutive nights so we decided to try this inn for an extra night in the vicinity. It was my husband's birthday weekend so I like to plan for a trip that is focused towards what he enjoys, even though we share interests in many things. I booked on their website for one night, that was pet friendly. They actually have more rooms than I expected. We arrived in the afternoon and since there is no parking on site, we parked in front, where an "unloading zone" sign was. I went to check in while my husband started to take items out of the car. I was offered to receive text messages during our stay regarding the happy hour and breakfast. I believe I received a text message as soon as checking in was complete. I received a text next about what we prefer as our drink for the happy hour. I chose wine and hubs chose beer. Our room was gorgeous! I loved the layout and especially the bay looking windows behind the bed. It was really nice waking up to that and staring out to the water. We never use the Jacuzzis in hotel rooms but decided to relax in this one and watch tv. Of course the jets did not work in the tub-go figure lol. I was planning on taking a shower anyway lol. The bathroom was beautiful and the shower had good pressure. The Reception hour was okay. A tray was delivered to us with one drink each, along with a plate of munchies. The inn we usually frequent has unlimited drinks and snacks during their social hour so I am not sure if we are just spoiled or maybe they limited it because of COVID here? For breakfast, we were able to request what time we wanted breakfast, which I requested 9am I believe. I also ordered a bottle of champagne (sparkling wine) for breakfast. I didn't get to finish it with breakfast because check out was 11am. I decided to finish it outside once we checked out. I was also able to check out via text. The staff were very friendly and they appeared to always be busy taking care of everyone and the grounds. If you visit here, you can definitely tell they take great care of the place. They love their flowers and plants. I don't think I have even seen staff at garden centers take as good of care as Bayfront does! I highly recommend this place and we will consider it in the future. I do wish the reception hour was more extensive and check out was at noon. Everything else was great. Parking is included but you have to drive to a parking lot a couple blocks away. I think it is located next to the Oldest House. They do charge a pet fee, which most places do and I do not recall them supplying any bowls. We have been here all week and have been staying in the Josephine Wedding Suite. This place is absolutely beautifully decorated with so much history. I really appreciate the effort the staff has put into our room. The breakfasts and evening meals delivered daily to our room every day, have been amazing. Everything looks and tastes wonderful. The staff is very receptive. The first night we were here, the temperature was a little warm in our room. We texted them, and within seconds, I could hear the air conditioner clicking on. They even set it to the temperature we liked it at. Anytime we have texted them, they have responded back immediately. We need a corkscrew, and it showed up within minutes. We needed ice at 7:30 pm, and someone showed up with a fresh bucket. I think my only issue with the place would be the television in the bedroom doesn't work. The volume goes out any time we change the channel, and we would have to turn it off and on 5-7 times to get the sound to work. The television in the living room worked fine though. The bed and pillows were too soft for me as I prefer a firmer mattress and pillows. This is something that is subjective to the renter though. Overall, the room is amazing; very spacious and centrally located to everything, and the staff is a class act. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Just stayed in the Josephina Wedding Suite Hannah was blown away by the service, view and food at this place. We did breakfast in our room and it was amazing I would recommend having it sent to your room so you can just eat it at your leisure. The view from our suite was amazing. Sunrise was especially gorgeous. Staying here makes it easy to walk the city come back for a nap and then head out again. Great court yard areas for relaxing with water views. We also loved the cat that hangs out by the lobby. There is also a massage service that comes to your room and sets up highly recommend that as well. We had a very relaxing fabulous time here. We stayed in the Lookout Suite while we were in town eloping. We had the most wonderful time. The view from the room is amazing, and the walk straight down from the cottage to the ocean is so nice. The only thing to watch out for is, as nice as that giant bathtub is, you sometimes run out of hot water before the tub is full (this was for us, when we stayed there in early February. Probably not a problem if you're there in the warmer months). All in all, a cute room, a beautiful view, and a great beach to get married on! read more

Wow. Wonderful place. Mara our hostess was so gracious and helpful. We stayed in the wedding room for our anniversary. Such a beautiful room and off to the side with so much privacy. The breakfasts were very good and Happy Hour is a must do. We enjoyed our breakfasts overlooking the river and they set up carriage rides and meals for us at great local restaurants. The staff was sooo friendly, the room was exceptionally clean, the breakfasts were all amazing and the view... the view was just wonderful. The first day we had a delicious berry casserole. The second day we had the most amazing spinach and artichoke quiche. The third day we had fluffy banana pancakes. You can order as many sides as you'd like(which we always did) The room was so romantic. The shower was huge and the bath was amazing. You have jets in the tub which were so relaxing. The bed was so comfortable. The most amazing part was the view. We were right in front of the ocean and had a balcony all to ourself. Lots of mixed emotions about this B&B; mostly very good. First the pros. The location is great. Wonderful views of the Bay and Bridge of Lions. The parking provided is only a short block and a half away. Park your car and leave it; walking in Saint Augustine is easy, or take a Lyft/Uber. The breakfast was delicious; yummy breakfast casserole, fruit, blueberry pastry, coffee, cream and sweeteners. We requested more cream and water which was happily delivered. Since we're in Covid (still!) the happy hour was delivered. We opted for each a glass of wine. A rich chocolate type parfait came, as well. The room was authentic and decorated nicely. The bed and chairs were comfortable. The provided soaps, shampoo, conditioner and lotion is delightful. Crucially, the rooms have individual thermostats with A/C and heat control. The grounds are decorated nicely and very well maintained. The website is helpful and aided us in planning as we could see what rooms were available and when. Now the negatives fairly and reasonably stated. At bedtime we could hear our neighboring room rap/bass music which I wholly loathe. Also, earlier in the day I could hear conversations from each adjacent room; not okay. The establishment should quickly invest it noise mitigation in the walls. Also, the room really needs blackout blinds. Far too much light was able to enter the room. Also, better sealing is needed at the door and windows for more noise mitigation. NOTE, the room entry is from outdoors instead of a preferred interior corridor; but that is endemic too this ancient build. read more

Be careful when getting a reservation through Expedia, the place you see is not what you will get, these are apartments ( very low budget for $300) off the road. I did not even bother checking in I rented a different room at a hotel. This is not even a step up from a Motel... Beware. It took me a while to get this review up honestly because there were too many good things to say! This was a surprise trip for my birthday and from the time we arrived until the moment we left it was a joy and pleasure! I would love to go into detail about everything but I'll try to keep it story length and not book like! From before we arrived my boyfriend had everything arranged through the B&B down to the last detail! They were very accommodating and extremely helpful! This place is soooo romantic! A perfect honeymoon spot or venue for destination wedding as well! We stayed three wonderful nights. The breakfasts were enticingly appetizing and filling. And you absolutely MUST try the French toast bake. Oh my goodness... We took the recipe home which they happily gave us and have made it for guests who devoured it! One breakfast was in bed and they marched in with three trays laden with food and Mimosas and placed them perfectly on the bed making sure everything was perfect before they left us to enjoy it! There's even a happy hour with coffee, free wine, beer, specialty Sangria's, small bites and an immaculately decadent dessert! When we got into the room they had an adorable plate of chocolates and a personal birthday greeting to me. Complete with a rubber ducky for the huge jacuzzi! The room was small but amazingly beautiful and I adored the bathroom with the hanging rustic sliding door and the large shower with a nice cubby for your toiletries. I especially appreciated the little touches like the tissue flower on the extra rolls of toilet paper, make up remover towelettes and especially the black small towels marked "Make Up" for, well, removing make up! The wardrobe had room for hanging clothes, and offered an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. They pretty much thought of everything! Right outside our door was a small table and chairs where we could have shared a bottle of wine and watched the sun set! There was also an outdoor patio area to eat or sit and a beautiful gazebo. The area offers lots to do and many places to eat. And the historical horse and carriage tour in the evening is wonderful and was a lot of fun! Would I go back? Are you kidding?? There may be a nicer place to stay in St Augustine but I can't imagine where. We spent two nights in room 1 (right on the bay in sight of the lighthouse) and everything was wonderful. From early morning breakfast to evening happy hour enjoyed in your room or on the patio this place is perfect. My GF and I decided to go to St Augustine for a vacation. We were looking at bed and breakfasts, which I did not really want but since she asked I decided we would look into going to one. We looked at a few and decided on the Bayfront Marin House. They are located on the waterfront just a few blocks away from St George Street and are a train tour ride away from a bunch of fun things to do in the area. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and checked in. Susie (Suzy?) was super friendly and even said they had been waiting for us as she had made some gluten free brownies for me. BONUS! :D I wish I had seen her again before we checked out to tell her how delicious they were. If a staff member reads this review, please tell her! We were escorted upstairs to our room, the Forrester (make sure you can drag luggage up the stairs because there are a fair amount of them to climb). We walked in the room and were very pleased with our selection. The patio view was awesome. The room was very nicely done, although it does need a few touch ups (a small crack in the wall by the right side of the bed, a crack in the base board in the bathroom, the outer wooden panel part of the tub was missing a few pieces that cover up where screws go). There also may have been an issue with the a/c as there is both a unit in the window and a thermostat on the wall, but the room did cool down at night. Overall it was a fantastic room. Very clean and just the right size. The bed was comfortable and you could smell the freshness in the linens. I slept just fine and am not sure why one reviewer said there was a noisy street because I am a light sleeper and did not notice any noise. After we unpacked, we filled out our breakfast cards, brought them back down stairs and noticed it was happy hour. Very nice selection to choose from, but we decided to forgo it and head out to explore and eat dinner. Susie (Suzy?) did apologize to me because she didn't think there were any gluten free option at that particular happy hour. I didn't mind at all, just the simple fact that she remembered I am gluten free was awesome enough for me. You certainly wouldn't get that kind of attention at a big chain hotel. Overall, I loved staying here. The innkeeper (God help me I forgot her name!!) was always present during breakfast and the cook made sure she made her way around to see how her breakfast was. The staff was always smiling and approachable, which makes all of the difference in the world if you ask me. My GF and I have decided that if/when we go back to St Augustine, we will most definitely be staying here again. I also plan on asking my siblings if they want to possibly get our parents a gift card to go here for their anniversary present. read more

What a cute B&B! I decided to book a room to stay overnight in St. Augustine to attend a friend's wedding. I was booked in the Coquina Suite for a single night. When your reservation is booked, you will receive a confirmation email. Definitely read the email. Seriously. There is lots of good logistical information you will need. The Inn does not have on site parking - it's about 2 blocks away and the only reason for a star deduction. But they really do everything in their power to make it easy to get in/out. Checking in there are two reserved spots on the street right in front of the Inn. I was checked in within minuted, a staffer gave me a map, showed me the parking lot, gave me my breakfast choice ticket, a Restaurant Times magazine and walked me to the room. I unloaded my luggage and then parked my car. There are marked spots in the parking lot for the Oldest School house lot. Again, not super inconvenient, but in the unseasonably blazing hot weather we're having right now, I was definitely glistening by the time I returned to my room. Spots are clearly marked in the lot and you'll need place the permit given to you at check-in on your dash. My room was super adorable. The Coquina suite has a small entry way, a small bath with a shower, then a small room with a day bed and two person jacuzzi tub and finally the bedroom at the back. There was a lot of natural light, the room had 2 cushy robes to use and lots of cute antiques. There was a TV with cable, a phone for local calls, and individual thermostats. There is a nightly happy hour from 5-7. I poked my head in, grabbed a small snack and a glass of white sangria and headed back to my room to get all dolled up for the evening. I ended up forgetting something in my car, so I did have to hike it to my car in a fancy dress and that was annoying but my fault. There is some street parking not far away and next time I'll probably try to grab one of those spaces first. After attending the wedding, I wandered back to my room around 1am. They have movement sensing lights that kicked on as I walked up to my room so that was a nice touch. My breakfast choices were quiche or yogurt and fruit. I chose yogurt, eating outside on the patio, and chose my preferred breakfast time. I snagged a table and took a seat enjoying the view of the water across the street. Within a minute, a staff member asked what room I was with and just a few minutes after that my breakfast arrived. As requested, I had a small bowl of greek yogurt with a nice selection of fruit surrounding it, a small croissant with butter and jelly, water, and a big mug of hot chocolate. I spent probably 45 minutes enjoying breakfast, chatting with other guests, and met the owners who were very nice and asked how my stay was going. Since I live so close to St. Augustine, I haven't stayed at a B&B before. Bayfront Marin was super cute, very comfortable, and I'll definitely book it again. They also have lots of options to add on to your stay to up the romance quotient if you're traveling with a partner. read more

We were gifted a certificate for my retirement. We spent two nights here in the number one room directly on the bay looking over the Bridge of Lions. The room is beautiful and they did a great job of celebrating my husband's birthday. The breakfast and happy hours were nice. The second night was a little sparse with the appetizers during happy hour but the staff was awesome. We've been to several B&B's in St Augustine; I've seen better breakfast and happy hours. But the porch looking over the bay and location made up for that. read more

Bed: Comfortable. There was a king bed in the room with a huge wooden canopy- very beautiful. The carriage trail was right outside our room, so we drifted off to dreamland with the gentile patter of horseshoes on the ground. It sounds like that would be annoying, but we actually found it realy cool-like we were transported back in time- and it was also oddly comforting. Room: Very clean, tastefully decorated, not too frilly. The tub in the bathroom was a little scraped up and that was the only part of the room that I wished had been cleaned a little better prior to our arrival. They provide comfortable robes which is a nice added bonus. Breakfast and happy hour: Mostly lacking. Store bought foods, nothing tasted homemade except for the sangria at happy hour. There was plenty of food to eat in terms of quantity, but nothing was amazing. We have stayed in many B&B's and I wonder if we have an unfair standard in mind. But the breakfast left my husband wishing we had paid less to stay at a different place and go to one of the yummy cafe's in town for a good quality breakfast. We don't need or want quantity, quality is way more important. One thing I will say about happy hour is that their red sangria is really, really good! Location: Superb, parking is close by, all of the main drag restaurants and museums are walking distance, and the B&B is right next to the water. The location is really beautiful. HINT: It was hard to find the parking at first- the person who answered the phone was not very helpful when we asked for directions and sounded annoyed. To her defense, we didn't do our homework prior to arriving and should have looked at the confirmation because it says where to park and how to check in. Service: Personable, but did not really feel special because of the huge size of the B&B. Along those lines, it felt more like we were staying at an Inn than a B&B. We are definitely B&B people, BUT, we will probably a hotel next time. There are a few really delicious-looking breakfast spots that we would like to try, and the price of lodging in St. Augustine makes it difficult to justify planning it any other way. read more

My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay at the Bayfront Marin House in the Josephine suite. To say our stay was incredible was an understatement. The attention to detail was unmatchable. Love love love this B&B. It's sooooo cozy! The room is heavenly, the bathroom is beautiful and the breakfast is great!!!!! The happy hour is pretty awesome too :) We spent a lot of time in our suite and on the balcony. The staff is soooo pleasant and accommodating. They sent Brian to pick us up at the airport and he gave us a little tour around town before carrying us to the inn. Happy hour was done by the time we got there but that didn't stop Brian from getting us 2 glasses of that awesome sangrias. We will be coming back for sure :) read more

This get away to the Bayfront Marin House was a gift from my husband's awesome coworkers. We got pregnant than got married..They way it's suppose to be right?! Well after the wedding we didnt' have plans for a honeymoon but they were generous enough to get us two nights at this bed and breakfast. Here's what I remember. Our room was nice and cozy. The shower was really small. Everytime I bent over my but hit the wall but hey I was preggo! I took out the shampoo holder to make more room. Our room had a hot tub. We totally used it than afterwards we remembered that being preggo in a hot tub is not a good idea. My baby ended up fine. Still its a romance kill. Breakfast was decent. You fill out a slip and check off what you want. I think I checked everything off. Hello Happy Hour! Free beer and wine! I was preggo and my husband seemed to be the only alcoholic drinker there so he was having a ball! While I munched on the delicious mushroom dip. I think I ate all of it. Oh ya they have bikes. While they may not be in the best shape they work and it's freeeeeee. I was 5 months preggo at that time and still trying to be active so we borrowed the bikes and went everywhere we could in the early afternoon. Parking parking parking... I remember it was a few blocks away. So the hubby had dropped me off in the front with our luggage left to park and walked back. The walk back creeped me out, it's by the St Francis Inn and there's hardly any lights. We walked pretty much everywhere. They only time we used the car was for a late dinner at the Rain Tree Other than that I'd come back. I just wonder what other B&Bs have to offer now that we had our first experience. read more

We had the best time here in one of the dog friendly rooms. The grounds and room are very clean, and the text messaging service between us and the hotel was so convenient. We needed a wine opener - it was at our door in just a few moments. We loved having breakfast and happy hour delivered everyday and the location cannot be beat! read more

Having stayed at about 20 different inns & B&Bs in St Augustine over the years honestly this one had among the top if not the BEST customer service. The breakfast was way more than you could ever eat and very good- definitely homemade. The social hour had lots of options for food and drinks including cheeses, meats, dips, hot & cold apps and wine, beer and sangrias and of course coffee, tea, etc. The innkeepers were so helpful ahead of time with potential plans we had set as well. The run some great specials during off season and weeknights so be sure to check out their website and facebook pages. I highly recommend them. Had a beautiful stay in the Marie Antoinette room. The room was wonderfully spacious, but the big highlight was the private balcony. Breakfast was very good and everyone was accommodating. Also a great plus was the owner checking in with everyone to make sure they are having a pleasant stay. read more
