This is such a quaint and charming B&B! The location has views of the harbor and is well maintained (and adorable). There is a loading/unloading zone for one car and parking a couple of blocks away. The location is within walking distance to the historic district and yet removed enough to be quiet for relaxation and sleep. The breakfast is made to order ahead of time (with preferences in mind) and served to your preferred location. What a nice touch! Check in and out very extremely easy via texting and the online guest book made recommendations easy to follow. Everyone works hard to make their guests' visit memorable.

Quaint little place with lotsa extras. Such as coffee service and breakfast in the am(outside or delivered to your room). They also feature a happy hour, late afternoon. Sangria with some type of appetizer. The service is impeccable, and every staff member is amazeballs! 5 Star service, Thank You Bayfront Marin House peeps. The location is perfect for us, very quiet part of Old Town. And you can walk anywhere, to get to just about any popular St Aug. hot spots.

We had to unload our items in the front unloading zone then park in the Oldest House parking lot nearby. There is no onsite parking. The B&B texted us about our room, happy hour and breakfast preferences. You can have your breakfast in your room or outside in the courtyard tables. The breakfast was good. We just texted them to check out. The view of the bay is the highlight here. You can also see the view of the lighthouse from the courtyard. The Nepoleon room was clean and cozy. The bathroom was modern. We walked everywhere after checking into room. The B&B location was convenient for tourists.

We stayed at the beach cottages and we're so glad we did. The check in process was very easy and we had a designated parking spot. They also give you a parking pass for downtown which was a plus. You're also able to enjoy their complimentary happy hour at the inn downtown. We stayed at the Royal Palm and you do share a wall with another suite so keep that in mind. If you have good neighbors your stay is great but the day we left a loud family checked in and they would've ruined our trip. The room had a full small kitchen with everything we needed. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. They offer beach chairs and beach towels as well. There was no house cleaning due to covid so dumping our trash and getting towels was a pain. Having someone change the sheets after 3 days wouldve been nice. They should offer the cleaning service and let the customers decide if they want it or not. They do have a texting service so if you need anything you can text them. I do wish they would've texted daily asking if we needed anything just to add to the customer service. Bring your own hair dryer and bath products. You're given on set but then that's it. I do wish they had screens on their windows. We always kept the windows open but with birds and bugs it made it a little hard. The breakfast was decent but hardly any protein so definitely recommend going to Publix which is nearby and grabbing some eggs. It was OJ, a piece of fruit, yogurt, pastry and then a main dish. A lot of sugar. Bring your own coffee! They do supply half/half and sugar. The kitchen is nice to make lunch but no gourmet cooking. All in all it was a great stay but there is some room for improvement if they just took that extra step.

What a delightful bed & breakfast! Historic happy place! We stayed three nights at this charming b&b. We were met on arrival by the pleasant owner. She gave us a warm welcome & directed us to our room. It was cozy & elaborately decorated with antiqued furniture, hard wood floors & area rugs. The only thing we did not care for in the room was the very odd jacuzzi-shower unit. It was difficult to climb into and out of the jacuzzi to use the shower. Also, our pedestal sink had a few cracks, but I'm guessing that it was a genuine antique so probably not authenticity replaceable. The Marin House followed strict Covid protocols and communicated via text from start to finish. We were alerted when our room was ready, asked about what we would like to drink with happy hour, breakfast selections & what time we wanted our breakfast & happy hour trays delivered to our room. And they were all on time! The entire staff was courteous & friendly, and they made us feel so welcome! Through no fault of the b&b, St Augustine experienced bad street flooding on one day of our stay. There was no way in or out due to street closures & flooding. We were stuck in our rooms. The staff sprang into action, sending out texts to explain the situation, encouraging us that once the tide went down, so would the flood waters. Most of the staff could not make it to work that day but those who were there were outstanding! They offered us cheese, crackers, eggs, fruit, & drinks to keep us fed until the waters receded. I want to stress that these folks went above & beyond to see to our comfort throughout the four days we spent with them! They were gracious, pleasant, & made us feel like family. This was our first stay with them but won't be our last! We are already planning a trip back in the spring. Until next time....

We have been coming to St. Augustine for years but always stay at the same inn. I actually booked this trip last minute due to COVID restrictions and unsure if we wanted to travel. The inn we usually stay at did not have 3 consecutive nights so we decided to try this inn for an extra night in the vicinity. It was my husband's birthday weekend so I like to plan for a trip that is focused towards what he enjoys, even though we share interests in many things. I booked on their website for one night, that was pet friendly. They actually have more rooms than I expected. We arrived in the afternoon and since there is no parking on site, we parked in front, where an "unloading zone" sign was. I went to check in while my husband started to take items out of the car. I was offered to receive text messages during our stay regarding the happy hour and breakfast. I believe I received a text message as soon as checking in was complete. I received a text next about what we prefer as our drink for the happy hour. I chose wine and hubs chose beer. Our room was gorgeous! I loved the layout and especially the bay looking windows behind the bed. It was really nice waking up to that and staring out to the water. We never use the Jacuzzis in hotel rooms but decided to relax in this one and watch tv. Of course the jets did not work in the tub-go figure lol. I was planning on taking a shower anyway lol. The bathroom was beautiful and the shower had good pressure. The Reception hour was okay. A tray was delivered to us with one drink each, along with a plate of munchies. The inn we usually frequent has unlimited drinks and snacks during their social hour so I am not sure if we are just spoiled or maybe they limited it because of COVID here? For breakfast, we were able to request what time we wanted breakfast, which I requested 9am I believe. I also ordered a bottle of champagne (sparkling wine) for breakfast. I didn't get to finish it with breakfast because check out was 11am. I decided to finish it outside once we checked out. I was also able to check out via text. The staff were very friendly and they appeared to always be busy taking care of everyone and the grounds. If you visit here, you can definitely tell they take great care of the place. They love their flowers and plants. I don't think I have even seen staff at garden centers take as good of care as Bayfront does! I highly recommend this place and we will consider it in the future. I do wish the reception hour was more extensive and check out was at noon. Everything else was great. Parking is included but you have to drive to a parking lot a couple blocks away. I think it is located next to the Oldest House. They do charge a pet fee, which most places do and I do not recall them supplying any bowls. Mila did get some treats though when we were sitting outside.

We have been here all week and have been staying in the Josephine Wedding Suite. This place is absolutely beautifully decorated with so much history. I really appreciate the effort the staff has put into our room. The breakfasts and evening meals delivered daily to our room every day, have been amazing. Everything looks and tastes wonderful. The staff is very receptive. The first night we were here, the temperature was a little warm in our room. We texted them, and within seconds, I could hear the air conditioner clicking on. They even set it to the temperature we liked it at. Anytime we have texted them, they have responded back immediately. We need a corkscrew, and it showed up within minutes. We needed ice at 7:30 pm, and someone showed up with a fresh bucket. I think my only issue with the place would be the television in the bedroom doesn't work. The volume goes out any time we change the channel, and we would have to turn it off and on 5-7 times to get the sound to work. The television in the living room worked fine though. The bed and pillows were too soft for me as I prefer a firmer mattress and pillows. This is something that is subjective to the renter though. Overall, the room is amazing; very spacious and centrally located to everything, and the staff is a class act. We will definitely stay here again.

Just stayed in the Josephina Wedding Suite Hannah was blown away by the service, view and food at this place. We did breakfast in our room and it was amazing I would recommend having it sent to your room so you can just eat it at your leisure. The view from our suite was amazing. Sunrise was especially gorgeous. Staying here makes it easy to walk the city come back for a nap and then head out again. Great court yard areas for relaxing with water views. We also loved the cat that hangs out by the lobby. There is also a massage service that comes to your room and sets up highly recommend that as well. We had a very relaxing fabulous time here. It's a must when visiting St. Augustine!!

We stayed in the Lookout Suite while we were in town eloping. We had the most wonderful time. The view from the room is amazing, and the walk straight down from the cottage to the ocean is so nice. The only thing to watch out for is, as nice as that giant bathtub is, you sometimes run out of hot water before the tub is full (this was for us, when we stayed there in early February. Probably not a problem if you're there in the warmer months). All in all, a cute room, a beautiful view, and a great beach to get married on!

The most wonderfully quaint, authentic B&B in St. Auggie! Right in front of the water, this resort is close to the action but away enough to be relaxing! Stay here for a convenient location, but get excellent service, wonderful breakfast delivered to your room, and a tasty happy hour that doesn't disappoint!

Oh my gosh! We JUST left and I absolutely can't wait to come back. The staff was sooo friendly, the room was exceptionally clean, the breakfasts were all amazing and the view... the view was just wonderful. The first day we had a delicious berry casserole. The second day we had the most amazing spinach and artichoke quiche. The third day we had fluffy banana pancakes. You can order as many sides as you'd like(which we always did) The room was so romantic. The shower was huge and the bath was amazing. You have jets in the tub which were so relaxing. The bed was so comfortable. The most amazing part was the view. We were right in front of the ocean and had a balcony all to ourself. If you are looking for a really cozy, amazing B&B then this place will be prefect for you. The breakfast was amazing and they had such a wide selection of items. You have to try this place out, I'm sure you will love it!

We had a lovely stay here. We spent two nights in the Marie Antoinette room which has a private deck overlooking the harbor. So relaxing! We felt very comfortable with the Covid procedures- contactless check in, breakfast delivered to your room, etc. since we had a private entrance it really felt safe. The location is very convenient to everything. We look forward to our next stay!

My husband and I absolutely loved this inn! We cannot wait to go back! It's in the heart of everything, within walking distance to everything, without being too close! The staff was amazing and the complimentary happy hour and gourmet breakfasts were to die for! The room we stayed in was just our style - antiques, wood floors, beautiful bathroom. We had the entire second floor with our own balcony overlooking the bay. We honestly couldn't have hoped for anything better!

Unfortunately, the property did not fully meet the expectations those images created. As Florida residents, we understand the recent cold weather likely impacted landscaping and outdoor upkeep. However, the courtyard and exterior areas appeared noticeably more worn and less maintained than what is currently advertised online. Unfortunately, we booked this specific room for the courtyard charm we saw in the posted pictures. Updating the photos or refreshing the outdoor spaces would help future guests have a more accurate understanding of the property's current condition. There were certainly positive aspects to our stay. The location was excellent, the included parking was convenient, and every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming. That said, at approximately $375 per night, we anticipated a higher level of overall quality in the accommodations, amenities, and breakfast experience. While the room itself was comfortable enough, it lacked the charm, attention to detail, and elevated feel we expected at this price point. Breakfast was also disappointing; we only chose to participate one of the two mornings because the selection felt quite basic. In a destination like St. Augustine, we expected a more memorable and refined hospitality experience. The toiletries also felt below the standard we anticipated for a property in this category. The shampoo and body wash were small sample-sized bottles that did not feel particularly premium or thoughtfully curated. Additionally, we experienced an issue with the tub jets during our first night. The jets repeatedly turned on by themselves, and we had to troubleshoot the wall switches multiple times to stop them, which became frustrating and disruptive. Overall, it felt as though the premium pricing was driven primarily by the location rather than the full guest experience. We have stayed at similarly priced bed-and-breakfast properties in Savannah and found the room quality, amenities, and dining experience there to be significantly more impressive. I genuinely wanted to love this property and had hoped it might become an annual anniversary destination for us, which makes this disappointment even more unfortunate. I share this feedback constructively because I do believe the property has strong potential with a few thoughtful improvements.

We came here to see a concert at the AMP outside of town. Being that the rates at nearby hotels were more than I was willing to spend, I looked at local B&B's, and this one fit the bill between it's local and downhome aesthetic, breakfast being included with gluten-free options for my wife, and a relaxing bathtub for my wife to soak and relax. Eva was fantastic in ensuring we had everything we needed. She is an absolute gem who made us feel at home and welcome. She helped us with some concerns and requests. With a house that has been in existence since 1853, as indicated by the plaque by the front door, this has the historical aesthetic and the comfort to match. The lobby area has some lovely velvet sofas shared with the dining area, where you can have either white or red wine or water, for example. The porch is also nice for a glass of wine, people-watching, and enjoying life as it passes by. Food-wise, they served breakfast if you're able to get to the lobby before 9:45 PM. Technically, the kitchen is open till 10 AM, but don't push your luck. But it's nice to have some coffee and breakfast, whether it's eggs and French toast soufflé or whatever is on the menu, and then you're off for your day. If you are gluten-free, make sure you mention it in advance so they can accommodate you. Our room was lovely, with a comfortable four-poster king-sized bed, a classy dresser, and nightstands. No closet, but there are knobs for hanging up shirts, pants, and dresses if you have clothes hangers. I liked the complimentary dark chocolate when we arrived as well. The room we had for our stay had a hot tub and a shower with multiple showerheads. Once you figure out how to use both, it is heaven. It allowed us to live our best lives. My wife enjoyed the tub immensely, then, after the fact, enjoyed the bathrobe. I liked that the toilet was in a separate room from the sink and shower/hot tub, especially, if you need to go and it goes sideways. The outdoor patio is also nice if you want an afternoon drink, fenced off from the street, especially if you want to smoke a cigar. We have already booked for a concert we are attending in July. And that date will not be the last time we book at the B&B. It is grand.

Title: From a dream to a nightmare--do not trust this business…read moreRating: I was incredibly excited to stay at 44 Spanish Street Inn, expecting a charming, historic St. Augustine getaway. Unfortunately, what I thought would be a dream vacation quickly turned into a complete nightmare. My husband and I live about two hours away from St. Augustine, and since we had a night off, we decided to book a one-night getaway. I searched online and found what looked like a completely relaxing, dream room: the Palm South room. I felt comfortable booking directly through their website because the policy explicitly noted that payment was not due until we arrived on the property. We were so excited at the thought of a quick getaway where we could just relax in our own private, in-room jetted tub. A few minutes into our drive to the hotel, the nightmare began. We received a call from the owner demanding payment. I thought this was odd since the website stated payment was due upon arrival, but since we were already on our way, I paid over the phone. A few minutes after that, while still driving, my husband received a text message giving us the access code to a different room: "Palm North." The room they forced us into was $30 cheaper and did not have a jetted tub. Figuring it was a simple mistake, we called the owner. He informed us that they switched our room because the water heater for the Palm South room was broken. When we explained that we only booked that specific room for the in-room jetted tub, he told us we could still stay in it, but the water would be cold! He did not offer any compensation or a discount for the forced downgrade. When I asked him to please just reverse the charges since the advertised room was unavailable, the owner flatly refused. He claimed he had offered us two different rooms--neglecting to mention that one was cheaper and the other was broken! Since we were almost there, we decided to drive to the property to speak with someone in person. When we arrived, the property was completely deserted. The owner refused to answer his phone, leaving us with no choice but to call the local police for assistance in resolving the theft. Even the police could not reach him. He had gotten exactly what he wanted: our money for a room that wasn't functional or as advertised. We ultimately left and had to book a room elsewhere with working hot water and a much nicer owner. We are now relying on our bank to dispute and reverse the fraudulent charges. What started as a beautiful dream turned into an absolute nightmare. I learned a very hard lesson and will never book directly through a website with a small property like this again. Avoid this place at all costs. **Edited to add that I filed a report to yhe BBB and a secondary complaint with the Florida Attorney General (the Department of Legal Affairs). So many small home touches, for example between 7-9 PM they served home made desserts. Parking in town is a big plus!!! Not only easy, but everything is within walking distance even in the heat of summer. What a lovely place. I almost forgot the pool to cool off in. Five stars.!!.

I had remembered…read morethis hotel was in downtown Saint Augustine, across from Flagler College, when we were going to spend the night in town. I'm glad we did, as we had a lovely night. The room was nice and spacious, with odd closets, but they worked for the time we were spending there. They also had robes if we needed to be bougie and prance around. We slept well and had a nice view of the square between the Lightner Mansion and Flagler College. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. They gave good recommendations on how to get around Saint Augustine, which had been a minute for me, so it was good to get a refresher. Sparkling wine at the front desk when we checked in was excellent and helped us unwind after the drive from South Florida. They have a gym and pool that I believe is accessible through the second floor, so I will have to remember that for our return trip. Also, they have a Starbucks on the lobby floor, which was great to get our morning pick-me-up. The bar and restaurant were very stylish, lots of Spanish influence from the 15th and 16th centuries. The cocktails were also solid. I didn't care for the water pressure and temperature, as they were difficult to adjust and ensure we were getting the correct settings. It was pretty scalding hot, so it took a couple of minutes to get it right, and then I kept it on the setting for my wife since I didn't want her struggling to mess with it. Apart from that, the experience was great. We enjoyed the sparkling wine and the accommodations when we checked in. The valet was good to have, as I didn't want to mess with street parking, but it is more expensive; take note.

The lower level period touches and decor are divine, and the location is just about perfect -- close to everything the old town has to offer. The guest rooms though? Eh, for a so-called 'resort' I was not blown away. I get the historical angle and an old building and all, but unfortunately (in my experience) that usually means a compromise on some level. Sure, the bed was very comfy, but the shower - and bathroom in general - was mediocre at best, with dated fixtures and not so great pressure. The room was fairly small-- fine for a solo traveler like me --- made interesting with matching eclectic furniture but not at luxury level. Just pointing it out.
