Adequate. Stayed here during a baseball tournament. The owners are very nice and were really accommodating to any requests we made (e.g., fresh towels, etc.). The downstairs breakfast area is nice and had a number of options. The hotel is definitely older and kind of run down. The pool was small, not well kept up, and cold. The entire place smells kind of musty. The rooms are small and it's kind of weird that the sink is outside of the bathroom. Unless I didn't have other options, I probably wouldn't stay here again. read more

Parking and exterior of the building is okay. The room was not clean. Stains on the chair, all over the walls, and it smelt musty. Looking inside the ac system looks like it's full of mold or some other debris growing in it. The bathtubs stained yellow and the drywall is peeling around the bathroom vents. We just completed a nine-hour straight drive and Mr. Patel made settling in so easy and welcoming. We've yet to find a hotel manager so friendly and accommodating on this journey. Wow!! Check in was friendly and the room was fine. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. Our only problem was that we were on the first floor, and whoever was on the second floor above us was clomping back and forth across the floor until well after we turned the lights out, and again starting around 5 a.m. Breakfast offerings included pastries, cereal, juice, yogurt, fruit, sausage, eggs and the like. read more

I was glad to find a reasonably priced hotel that allowed my dog to stay. When I checked in I was charged $10 because I had my dog staying with me which is fine. The hotel clerk was friendly and explained various policies. I understand pets may require additional cleaning. The hallway appeared clean and well kept. When I entered my room it smelled musty. I turned up the air to see if that would help the smell and it seemed to help. The carpet appeared unclean. There was a few human hairs in the bathtub and it looked like a cleaning product had been sprayed on the shower walls but not wiped or rinsed. The toilet looked clean but was the size of a child's toilet. I could not imagine a man using this toilet comfortably. The sheets looked clean but once you notice other things that appear to be unkept you begin to question everything. The breakfast area was tidy. The food was hot. There was the typical waffle, yogurt, cereal, etc. They also had hard boiled and scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, coffee, OJ, etc. I am now wondering if I was assigned a room that was dedicated to persons traveling with a pet. While I understand that some pet owners do not take care of their pets I make sure my animal is clean and I make sure I clean up after my fur-baby. I WOULD NOT STAY in this hotel again as I have stayed at other hotels like Country Inn and Comfort Inn and had nice clean rooms for the same price. (I did not choose either of these hotels as they were not in the vicinity.) read more

If all you are looking for is a bed and a locked hotel room door*! This is the place. The folks running it seem to be nice but really knew nothing about the town. Meaning they asked me why I was visiting and I said the The Pumpkin Festival being held in downtown! Blank stare and then asked me what was going on in which I explained that since about 1968 the town had a very large 4 day festival in downtown and again I was asked where! Well the only real landmark since I can remember is the Dairy Queen located right on Main St. and the area where the Festival is held. At which time they wanted to give me direction to the Dairy Queen which I already knew along with the Festival. EEOKAY moving on. As you enter the hotel off the lobby you get that sweet sanitized smokey smell you get when you enter a hotel that allows smoking on one side of the hall and not the other. My room was clean albeit for the most part did not look nothing like the "website" photo's that made it look a lot nicer than the other places I didn't stay at! Decor is late 80's looking wallpaper with a flowerdy border. Almost all the seems of the wallpaper in my room were peeling and or bubbled open. AC ran all the time even with it being 40 degree lows and 60 highs outside the room never really cooled of... At all.. Very nice purple 1980's recliner, No coach as pictured on the website. As said by another review if someone was in the room above you plan on hearing there feet walking all the time. The bathroom honestly had the smallest toilet of which I ever sat on. Which was barely there at all and admitted I am a big guy but that stool was.. well.. tiny. Shower curtain had mold and mildew on it. It looks to be a completely family run facility with several members of one large family cleaning, and working the desk area. It also includes an indoor pool and also a washer and dryer. If you noted above my denote about "locked hotel room door*" The rear entrance to the hotel itself seemed to be unlocked all hours of the night! I was in town for 4 days at the Festival and routinely didn't get back until Midnight 1 or 2 AM and it was never locked. So your hotel room door was locked but not the HOTEL itself. Wi-Fi not really sure but the entire time I stayed it would take up to 4 times and maybe a reboot to get onto the hotel Wi-Fi! Not putting the blame completely on the hotel buuuut never had the issue before nor since I have left. Well I stay here again? More than likely NO! read more

We recently traveled to Morton for a family funeral, and this was the only hotel in town that had any available rooms. Immediately upon arrival we were disappointed with the quality of the hotel and with the lack of friendliness from the staff. Upon entering the room, however, is where the true disappointment began: Room Overall: 1. The room reeked of urine or mold. 2. The wallpaper was peeling from the walls in several places. 3. The mattress and sheets had what was either a blood stain or a pizza sauce stain in multiple areas (I'm telling myself it was pizza sauce). 4. The decor is nauseating at best with so many different styles of wallpaper, art, flooring, draperies, and paint just crammed into one little space. It was hideous to say the least. 5. The AC unit was not providing enough cooling and could not be adjusted to make the room a comfortable temperature. 6. The shower water pressure was extremely weak, and made the process take forever. "HOT BREAKFAST" 1. The scrambled "eggs" provided were clearly powdered eggs with no flavor or consistency to speak of. 2. The sausage patties tasted like they had been rewarmed several times. I wonder if they were from the previous day. 3. The bread and bagels were clearly "day old" at best. Dry and stale. 4. The make your own waffle area was filthy and the waffle mix was in a dirty Rubbermaid container that I would not feed my dog from. 5. The quantities of all items were insufficient to provide for all the guests. The staff constantly had to go microwave (gross) more sausage and eggs to keep the supply going. Many angry guests left, not wanting to wait to eat the disgusting "food". The bottom line for me is that this hotel is old, dated, poorly maintained, and frankly filthy. I'm certain this place would not pass a health department inspection of any kind. Furthermore, when we inquired to the staff about the smell of our room, the AC cooling problem, the stains on our mattress, and our dissatisfaction with the breakfast, we were met with rudeness and a general uncaring attitude each time. They clearly don't care about taking care of their guests, and the property and the service have suffered as a result. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. read more

It's...ok... Rooms are clean but dated. Halls have a very musty smell. Bathroom is dark and tiny. The beds are smaller than expected, and the pool is possibly an oversized hot tub. I was confused by the curtains which have no way of being held back from absorbing all of the AC. I finally used the table to pin them back against the wall. read more

Clean hotel in a safe area. Next to a few chain restaurants. Nice friendly staff. Comfortable beds, rooms with fridge, microwave and desk. Can't really say anything negative. A good road stay. read more

I LOVED the bed and sheets! VERY comfortable king size bed! We had a room at the very end of the hall by the stairs. You could hear heavy footsteps and muffled talking. When we got in the room it was nice and clean, clean bed etc. We tried turning on the TV but the remote didn't work. So we called the desk and we had to go down and get another one. We brought it back up and it still didn't work so we called again. The desk said they would bring another one in 10 minutes. Seemed like an awfully long time just to bring me another remote. Then when he got there he left the remote and it still didn't work. We got tired of waiting just to watch TV so we gave up. They called around 9 am to remind us that check out time was at 11 am. Didn't get breakfast there. Overall, not terribly bad but not wonderful. read more

Going to guess this place was recently remodeled. Virtually everything inside is new. New carpet, paint, LED lighting, furniture, bedding, the works. So now your room is the same quality and appearance of the neighboring $130 hotels for a fraction of the price. Small indoor pool that's sufficient for kids to play in, and mostly cold breakfast options (with a waffle maker). We did not partake in hotel breakfast, but instead walked next door to Cracker Barrel. Overall, the remodel makes this hotel worth your consideration! read more

It was nothing more than a place to sleep ... And not a very good one at that. Too much noise in the hall carries into the room. No elevator to the second floor. They didn't even want to provide me a receipt when I checked out, saying since I booked online I could print it online. Not friendly for business or family travel. The location was great and the recepcionist nice, that's why I am giving 2 stars. The room was average, the sink was just at the entrance of the room...a bit wierd. The bathroom was not really clean, there was woman hair on the floor. The pool does not have a shower to shower yourself before get into the pool (no hygienic!).Breakfast did not include healthy choices at all! Our family stayed at the Morton Baymont for two nights on both ends of a riverboat trip in Peoris. We made our reservations through Kayak/Travelocity and prepaid for both nights. We have been making hotel and airline reservations through third party companies for years and have never run into a problem. On the first date, we arrived after a 7 1/2 hour drive and we were notified by the person working at the front desk that the General Manager, Ap Patel, had attached a note to our reservation asking the person on duty to collect another $7 for each of our children. Our confirmation was for a room for 4 adults with 2 queen beds. We did not understand this request and did not pay it. We checked out early to be in Peoria for a 7:00 AM boarding on the Spirit of Peora river boat. For the next stay, we arrived late at night with the same problem and were detained for over half an hour while the clerk, and then another person, dealt with someone with Travelocity on the phone. We tried to explain that this was not our problem if the company is not charging correct rates for the hotel. The other person at the desk also told us that the rate isn't even that great and that because we are AAA members, it would only amount to a few dollars difference. So I'm wondering what kind of business practice it is to inconvenience guests in such a way over what amounts to about $7 total on a room charge. We own rental cabins in a vacation area and the future lost business or bad reviews on Yelp or Tripadvisor makes this incomprehensible. Need towels without stains. Our A/C had to be set at 62 in one room in order to cool. Beds are nice. read more
