I've been to several events here, all of which were related to the Touchdown Club of Houston. The venue itself is roomy and comfortable with easy restroom access and good parking. The staff is mostly good at what they do. What I don't like is that every time I have been here, they've had all but one or two gates to the facility closed. There might be a good reason for that, but I can't figure it out. read more

Attended a charity event, which seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Spacious fenced in lot. Open foyer, clean restrooms, gigantic space for wedding, charity events, and anything that needs 500+ seats. There's an apartment complex right next to the area. read more

I've been to two events at Bayou City Event Center and I've enjoyed the experience both times. Bayou City has a spacious parking lot with plenty of spaces which is always a big plus. Once you walk in, the inside is spacious too. The meals I've had here have been solid too. It's not easy for a chef to cook for 100+ so a job well done here. If you're looking for a large event space, Bayou City is a great choice! read more

Hennyfest was just a cash cow. I am not even sure that was actual Hennessey being served. It took one hour to buy an overpriced, nasty drink. How do u mess up an incredible hulk?? Drink lines were stupid long, and some bartenders were allowing patrons to cut in front of people who had already been waiting forever. My main concern was having to throw away my water bottle at the gate when it was like 97 degrees outside. That tells me that there was a general lack of concern for anyone's health. You know you've had an amazing experience when, as you are walking to your car, you feel the incessant urge to whip out your phone and leave a review. The first thing i noticed as i entered the center was its nice, cool temperature: a haven from the oppressive heat. The second thing i noticed was the elegant design. Its hard to equipt such a large space with novel details, but the center manages to do so. Beautiful crown molding decorates the vaulted ceilings, and the fireplace made the banquet area warm and intimate. The staff was attentive and thorough, making sure each guest (and boy were there a lot of guests! ) feel important and looked after. The food was an experience in itself ! Made in house, the ice cream, watermelon salad, and burger sliders were scrumptuous! My only complaint about this place is that i was not aware of its existence when planning my own wedding, as i would nost certainly have hosted it here (and would have saved a ton on wall drapery and lighting!! ) Will definitely be keeping this venue in mind for all my future event needs :) read more

I've been here twice for work events, both casino nights, and for large groups, this place WORKS. It's easy to access from 610 and is even close to the light rail if people decide to ride from the med center or downtown. The parking and interior can easily accommodate thousands of people. If guests are all leaving at the same time, there will be a bit of a traffic jam, but that holds true anywhere. The space inside is new and clean, but not overly modern and could easily mold to fit the theme of most events. The wait staff has been exceedingly pleasant, and there are people constantly clearing plates, replacing chafing dishes or emptying trash cans. The reason I wouldn't give a 5th star is that I have not been impressed with the AV set up. The video and sound have been really bad on both of my visits. So for an AV heavy event like a conference or lecture, this venue might not be your best bet. It's perfect for large banquets and parties. read more

Came here for the HLSR Parade Auction. The rooms we were in were very nice. When visiting an event center like this I always look at the ceiling- some event places just have regular ceiling tiles or standard business-like light fixtures- but not here- the ceilings in every room were very nice, as was the decor- even in the bathrooms. The event coordinator was very helpful, at times bossy, as we were moving the set up of check out for the auction items from the front to a side room. She was very conscious of how the table needed to be set up, and other furniture, in order to maintain a good appearance. She even brought in new table cloths since some of them had food on them from when the buffet was set up. I would recommend this place for a large event, it can definitely hold A LOT of people! read more

The parking here is a nightmare! The valets block off half of the parking lot, ( no exaggeration, exactly half) in an attempt to force you to valet. The line for valet was more than 30 minutes. The location is ghetto. Bad Bad bad! There is no air conditioning in the Ladies bathroom. The event lobby was very warm. The menu was awful. I will never ever attend an event at this place again... We ensure a comfortable experience by providing ample restrooms, high-powered ceiling fans, ice machines, sinks and a large food holding area. The above explanation is correct in my opinion. The restrooms are OK.(I am a man.I can judge only men's room).I volunteer at a beverage booth. It was easy for me to deliver ice from the ice machines.I am not sure if I can say" Large" food holding area. But It was Okay. -Stage and music . Regarding the stage, I was one of the dancer on the stage. I was deeply concerned about music.In our past events at other venues, , we often had problems on music, DJ. computer, sound, etc.Sometime,our dance music didn't start .However, we didn't have any music problems at the event center.Everything was OK.It was one of my best dance ever.Salamat(Thank you in Tagalog) -Vendors We used parking lots.There are many vendors. Some of the vendors sold Filipino street foods.I got one food.It looked like some Pig or chicken's hand and fingers It made me feel eating my hand and fingers. .It was delicious. Actually, the foods were running out at the most of the vendors.They closed in 3 or 4 hours. Parking sucks is all I can say. My friend had her graduation here and people were parking literally on the roads. We ended up missing her graduation and had to see her after cause it looked like zombie apocalypse showed up here. I mean...when you build a venue, you need to account for parking space of not only the staff, graduates, wedding party, etc but also for GUESTS. Whoever designed this needs to take that into account. I had not heard of this place until I found out that my graduation was going to be held here. My first thought was "why is it being held at Bayou Music Center?" Yeah not he same place. This is definitely an event center and they can accommodate all types of events. The graduation rented out the entire place. The facilities are nice, restrooms are clean, temperature was adequate etc. They even have a coat check which I feel like is nonexistent in the South. The ceremony was in the ballroom, and then the reception was at the outdoor pavilion. I was worried about the reception being outside (especially in May), but the area is covered, and they have large fans. There are also restrooms at the pavilion so you don't have to run across the parking lot back to the ballroom. There's plenty of parking and this place is pretty easily accessible from 288 or 610. I feel like this place is kind of a secret, but if for some reason I need to plan an event, I will certainly consider Bayou City Event Center. read more

Came here on a Saturday night for Savarese Promotions, "Rumble on the Bayou 7" for boxing and MMA featured fights. Located off Almeda near the Reliant Center Stadium off 45, this place is easy to get to if you remember to turn right onto Holmes Rd. This place is a first class facility with valet parking, fenced self parking, security and overall staff. The fights were held in a beautiful, well lit ballroom with high ceilings, inset tiles, classy light fixtures, carpet, video screens and plenty of room. Whether you attend a reception, conference or sporting event, this place is a classy option for all your needs. What a great find. Kudos to Savarese for their choice in venue. read more

We used Bayou City Event Center for our annual HCRP Lincoln-Reagan Dinner and were impressed on every level. Our event grew from 500 to over 1000 in the two weeks leading up to the event and the staff quickly accommodated our needs. In fact, we had to add 5 tables as the event was starting and the BCEC staff worked seamlessly with the caterer to make it happen. The facility is beautiful, well maintained, and already set with many of the necessities like audio-visual equipment. Our guests loved the option to park themselves and thanks to a reasonably priced police officer, traffic in and out of the venue was a breeze. The venue and staff at BCEC are absolute professionals and work hard to make your event perfect. read more

I am not sure how they do any business or keep repeat business. They do not answer or return phone calls. Staff is not flexible, Chris is a jerk, Kristin does not understand the business at all but wants you to think she has been in this for years. Yolanda is pleasant but does not know the business. Unfortunately I and my team had to deal with most of the staff and we will never go back. Bar staff is horrible, they use to have great bar staff as I have been there may times but since the end of the year this must have changed. My organization did events there since they opened and my how the place has changed since there previous GM left. To sum it up I would not go to this place under any conditions. read more
