The place to relax and have a small bite or cocktail is just right Upstairs! This was one of the first places I visited when I first relocated to Houston. It was and still is the perfect place to "WINE"-down and grab an delicious appetizer. Perfect to visit if solo, on a date, or with friends or colleagues after work. This quaint lounge setting offers bar seating, high top tables, lounge and booth seating, as well as patio seating overlooking a the beautiful tree-lined street. They also offer a separate room to host meetings or parties. Appetizers are delicious - I ordered their fried pickles and spinach dip. Just enough to hit the spot. For my cocktail, I selected the a classic apple martini (I know, "who still drinks those still?" Lol...I do...nothing wrong with a classic dahling). Great times and worth the check out. Right "upstairs" from Hungry's, this place is a great spot to chill. Self parking is limited, however they do offer valet. No street parking. Enjoy!

This bar has a fun lounge vibe. Located in the heart of Rice Village, this spot if the perfect oasis for a date night, happy hour, or any other sort of meet up/outing The lounge itself is located just upstairs from Hungry's, and it's has the same management and even menu. So, if you want a more chill lounge vibe go upstairs, but if you want more of a restaurant vibe then Hungry's is also a Greta option The Lounge shares its food and drink menu with Hungry's. There's a variety of entrees to choose from. The apps and pizzas are great for sharing. There is also a solid cocktail menu that includes signature and classic drinks. I'm a fan of the brunch menu and the mimosa flights When you are finished, consider taking a stroll through Rice Village. There's plenty of shopping, desserts, health/self care, and libation options in the area Some tips: Occasionally there are events being held in the Lounge, so, book a reservation or call ahead. Also, there is complimentary valet parking, or you can find free parking a block away of Chaucer Cheers!!

I celebrated my birthday in March at this location and everything was amazingly good! We had a party of 11, no problem for our waiter at all. Service was excellent, no delays or issues with any of the food we ordered. After we dined downstairs, we went upstairs for cocktails! I definitely recommend this place 10/10 on food service and ambience!

Wanted to change my venue for an afternoon of reading on a Sunday. I specifically wanted a nice patio and was directed here by Google. For anyone who may be confused, it's directly above Hungry's, not a separate building. With it being Sunday, it was very busy. The seating was self serve and with that being said, there was a bit of a delay getting a waiter and I had multiple people involved with my order and assistance. I ordered the Chilaquiles and aperol gimlet, both of which, I enjoyed. HH is 3 to 6 daily but I opted to head home. Cute spot for sure.

Upstairs Bar and Lounge is an attractive upscale casual bar with very good food. The indoor setting can be considered somewhat romantic while the outdoor second level deck is more casual with lots of TVs and high top seating. They have a great cocktail menu with something for everyone or you can get creative with your request. We've had the same server twice and he did an excellent job with additional descriptions and opinions of both drinks and food. The food menu is impressively large for a bar and I've throughly enjoyed each item ordered over two visits. Don't be afraid go beyond the typical bar food, my exploration is just getting started.

Located upstairs above Hungry's restaurant in Rice Village. Has both indoor & outdoor seating plus an indoor space with a glass door that could be used for private dining. I love the upstairs, outdoor patio. it's a nice size, with TVs & multiple fans, Dimly lit, nice vibe in the evening. Food: Crab cake appetizer. 3.5/5, was not crab meat forward, more "bready" than I prefer & flavor was basic. Brussel sprouts: 4/5 they were good, the balsamic glaze made them My dinner mate got the gyro pita where the meat was very tender & tasty. 4/5 Spicy Mezcal Paloma cocktail was good. Not really spicy. I substituted OJ for grapefruit since i can't drink grapefruit juice. Service was fine, no complaints. Nice spot to pop in for a bite & drinks.

I wish I could remember the name of my pizza. It was sooooo delish! Definitely one of the best pizzas I've have! Ambiance was chill and intimate. Theres's an outside seating area as well but with the houston heat, we chose to sit in the inside. Service was prompt and food was fresh.

Came here for a drink and sat at the bar. Bartender was really nice and efficient! They have a variety of cocktails, wine, beer, and bar food. Cool vibe for drinks and appetizers. Love that they have Daou wine too - from close to home.

Came here for happy hour and it did not disappoint! We had the whole balcony basically to ourselves. Although it was warm, the balcony had shade and cooling fans which kept us comfortable. Our server took amazing care of us as well - she was attentive and gave great recommendations. They have an awesome happy hour - half off cocktails, $10 pizzas, and $4 off their appetizers. They also have daily specials on top of these and kids eat free on Mondays! I got to try a variety of cocktails - the spicy pineapple margarita was sweet and spicy - just enough kick to make it exciting. The Paloma was very smoky which brought out the mezcal flavor nicely. The gimlet was my favorite - I loved the herbal fragrance and flavor and enjoyed the grapefruit juice! We shared the brussel sprouts and wings. Both were amazing - the brussel sprouts were crispy, sweet, and dupe flavorful. The wings were well cooked and had great flavor. We tried the garlic Parmesan and the honey habanero. The manager checked on us and was very hospitable. I could not say a negative thing about this experience. We will for sure make this a regular go-to spot! Give them some love!

Upstairs is always a cute little vibe! Love coming here for happy hour especially on Sunday. Valet service is tip based I recommend doing valet there's not too many free parking spots in the lot and it's always packed. I always order the Spanish dip. It never disappoints, but of course you have to add a little bit of salt to it. I ordered the pepperoni pizza which was super cheesy. Love it! I always get the frose. They have the best frose I've ever had. Everybody I was with enjoyed their food!

One of my favorite places to come for happy hour because at the time of this review, they offer it daily from 3-6 pm. The bartenders and staff are super friendly. I really enjoy ordering the spicy pineapple margarita. The rosé on the happy hour menu is pretty nice as well. The food is consistently delicious. I really like the green chile shrimp ceviche. The hummus is phenomenal and their pizzas are pretty great too.

I stopped by on a Sunday around 6 p.m. While I Uber'd, I know that you can find free street parking in the area despite it often being busy. Ambiance (3.5/5): The Davenport was packed even on a Sunday evening. To the point where no seats were available. Luckily for me, about 10 minutes in, the lady next to me left so I was able to snag a seat at the bar. There are also high tops and a small patio out front. The Davenport is a pretty chill establishment, but one with a loyal following. Service (4/5): A full bar usually means service issues. There was a component of that here. It took a little while to order my drink and later to get the bartender's attention to close my tab. Given how popular The Davenport is, your experience will likely be the same. Luckily, they make up for it by going above and beyond with their cocktails. I'll get to that in a second. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet, and to be honest, while I'm not 100%, I don't think they have food. There was a guy walking around selling boudin though right when I was about to leave. Drinks (4.5/5): The Davenport is known for their martinis so that's what I recommend going with. It's a The Cheesecake Factory-type menu with 40 or so martinis to choose from. Paradox of choice situation. I ended up going with the gummy bear which was a solid cocktail, although a bit too sweet for my taste. Here's what makes Davenport next level... their martinis pack a punch. I always appreciate a stiff drink. And on top of that, they often give you more than your cocktail in a martini glass. There's usually quite a bit leftover so they'll pour that in another glass for you. Basically a drink and a half for the price of one! Given the strength of the cocktails and the quantity, it's definitely a good deal. The Davenport has been around for a while and has become a well-known spot. I'm glad I finally got to cross it off the list. After you down a martini or two, there's an Irish pub right next door and Trill Burger right across the street.

Vibe was a good entire time as they started playing some R&B/hiphop... the crowd slowly trickled in. By the time we left it was almost packed! We had a really nice little table near the front so got to see alot of regulars come in. The bartender even gave us a round of shots on the house for being our first time. My profile: 40s, grown and sexy, open to trying new food in the city and I like an elevated dining environment and based on the clientele, the crowd skewed younger than my group **Greeting Area: Patrons enter front-and-rear pass-through elevator; It is a small area which got stacked up with people waiting for their table. You are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and you are given a 15 min. grace period for your table, before your reservation is cancelled, per my friend. We waited a bit because I was 13 minutes late, delaying the seating of our party - when we were seated, the place was not full, so I'm curious why we had to wait. **Food: The food was hot and well-prepared. Nothing was overly salty and the side sauce on the kebobs was a perfect complement to flavor - I didn't have the burger that my friend had but he described it as flavorful and the fries looked very crispy and perfectly made **Ambience: You have two hours to eat from when the orders are put into the system - this always irks me because you feel like you're on a conveyor belt and rushed to eat. For $30 chicken kebobs, can I have a moment? But, I have a theory...the volume of the music helps to "bump" you right on out the door and speeds up your eating - it was too loud and made it hard for us to hear the server, much less the convo at the table. We asked for it to be turned down a bit, but not sure that ever happened. In addition, hookah. Why? The place is not vented, nor are these hookah-ers seated on the patio. **Decor: They were missing the brunchspot "flower wall", however, floral decor was abounding - there was nice furniture in the "regency style" was mixed with modern elements; it was tasteful but we need to do a good wipedown and dusting of windows, mirrors and lighting - I took a mirror selfie which had a giant smudge mark **Service: Aliyah was our server and she was very personable and she had a very welcoming spirit. We ordered some beverages and additional sauces, which were never delivered when the restaurant started to fill up and we ultimately cancelled them --Glows: Great service, good app (the wings), front end staff was pleasant and took a photo of our group, good/hot food --Grows: Wipe down the glass leading to the restroom (VISIBLE and clear smudges from people touching the glass), clean the chandeliers, clear out the (kitchen?) smoke from the men's room, allow for an approved list of side item subs (rice or fries/mashed potatoes, etc.), stop charging for 2 additional ozs. of sauce for the food - the food cost doesn't justify this "nickel and diming", don't serve a chipped or broken plate to a customer: THROW IT OUT (details make the difference) Hacks: Park on the 2nd level and enter through the front-and-rear pass-through elevator to get to the restaurant, get two hours of free parking at the front desk The verdict: I think it's a one-and-done. Great potential, great product but I'll leave this for the youngins.
