If I could give this cow pasture ZERO stars, that would be their rating…read more The owners of this golf course (sic) haven't invested a dime in this track since General Sherman played here ! Fairways are nothing but weeds and dirt. Fallen trees abound, a palm tree lies across one fairway and a uprooted tree lays at a 45 degree in the 18 fairway, however it is somehow still alive. Tee boxes are a complete joke and there is not ONE DECENT GREEN on the entire course. Greens are fuzzy dirt at best ! This place SUCKS !! To add insult to injury, they have the BALLS to charge $40.00 to play this piece of shit course. You've been warned ! Play somewhere else, you can thank me later.

I Love this Course! I am sure you will too…read more I have golfed two rounds here and each time was outstanding. 6112 from the whites (70.2/122) and dynamic tee shots challenge the average golfer. Where there is no water, there is a bunker. If there is no bunker or water, they left the trees or rough nearby to toy with you and try and suck your ProV1 into its clutches. For this course, accuracy from the Tee and Hitting the Greens in regulation are key - yes, of course its the same at any club. For me, these obstacles swallowed several of my miss-hits and added some strokes to my rounds, proving a formidable adversary. OK, so why do I recommend this course? I like the distance and the serenity of the course. Its setting is pleasant and tends to the golfers soul by allowing some peace, outdoors. Many of the holes are separated by trees and thick underbrush, meaning IF you are the only one or group on that hole (not likely on any course on the weekends), it can feel like you are the only one out there. Also, the green fee includes free range balls on their non-turf range. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The lunch specials are outstanding and priced affordable. They have a great bar with several beers on tap and a wonderful bartender who will fix you up a fantastic Bloody Mary or drink of your choice -- they also have a beverage cart. Well, now I am getting excited for next weekend. Maybe I will see you out there. Happy Hacking!

As far as my rating - a four star in my book is a very solid course. Good tee to green with a nice layout, good overall conditions and nice facilities. First the pro staff was helpful and friendly. Nice bar and restaurant area. Had three or four beers on tap including a Lazy Magnolia beer (local brewery). I really like the course layout, tee shots on some holes require thinking about risk reward. Greens are tricky at times, with slopes (Back to front or side to side) that you have to account for. Greens rolled well, weren't overly fast guessing around 10-11 otherwise it would be a very tough putting course on some holes if they rolled too fast. Many holes don't have houses on them, tree lined fairways that aren't too tight, but require good tee shots because your not going to land in a parallel fairway. Overall worth the drive north of I-10 near Gulfport.

While the course design was incredible the maintenance was very poor. All of the fairways were rock hard with very short grass. At first glance it looks nice but I'd almost prefer to play off the parking lot than these fairways. I was supremely disappointed in the playing conditions for what should be a great golf experience. If they can learn to grow grass and water the fairways you will be treated great by the excellent and friendly staff.

Dogwood is the exception. They should rename this place Dogpatch. I thought I snagged a sweet deal on Golf Now but you could not pay me to play there again. Granted it was the first of February and I don't expect lush green fairways, but this place was ridiculous. The fairways were compacted sand and mud with a few green spots here and there. The edges of the fairways (we call it the first cut in the north) were bumpy bare and impossible to hit off. I will say that the club house staff and workers on the course were friendly and polite.
