Instead of only focusing on the downs and the problems (though she does, of course, help you with those as well), she instead empowers the client to take charge of their lives as she helps them navigate or remove the obstacles that may be holding them back. Using a more open technique that is, to me, more effective than simple cognitive behavioral therapy by itself, Tamara finds themes in the client's statements and stories and then helps them address those issues. Not being a psychologist, it is difficult for me to accurately explain how she does what she does, but as a patient, I can tell you that she is very accepting; not judgmental; honest; observant; funny; compassionate without being sappy; and that she works hard with you and for you. I am seeing definite improvements in my function and how I feel. I do not feel any pressure to schedule more frequently than I feel that I need to, and I really appreciate that. Her office is very comfortable and has ambient lighting and soft music, or you can have your sessions via a secure Tele-health link. She does not file insurance, but you can get reimbursed for sessions by your FSA/HSA, and you can see if your insurance will reimburse you as well as she is a licensed LMHC with a Master's degree.
