The grounds of this school are so well kept, the security here gives me comfort as well, so many resource officers and lots of teachers out helping kids when it's time for final bell. Teachers are great at communicating here, we couldn't make it to our sons parent teacher conference so she called us and had a phone conference instead, they are so good at working around busy schedules too! The campus is like a postcard, the teachers amazingly knowledgeable, kind, and professional, yet loving with the kids. The staff is magnificent. After the hurricane the school leadership, Mr. Salvo, acted superbly addressing safety, way ahead, and communicating with the parents how the response to the hurricane as a family was going as well as weaving the way ahead for the school insofar plans, strategy, and future. The Father and reverend at the church are warm and embracing all the faiths attending the school. We attend every chapel with our son. The teachers are always responsive, and the events are always very appropriate and joyful. Now our son will be learning the violin, and we are excited to see his progress. Being part of the St Mary's family gives us peace and warmth of heart. Academically superior.

Best public elementary school we came across…read more The other pointless parent review/complaint about "forcing" kids to apply for jobs inside their school is one of the dumbest things I have heard someone complain about... if you're mad or upset that a school is trying to set your child up for the REAL world and better them as human beings THEN HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN! Mitchell's curriculum is outstanding and the teachers/administration truly care about each and every child there. I, myself, am a single mom on a VERY limited low income/budget and never once felt "excluded" or "unqualified" for any type of participation regarding ANYTHING at Mitchell. I went to a wedding ceremony here this past weekend and it was absolutely lovely. It faces the…read morewater and is right on Bayshore Blvd. It appears to be a school, but we only went to the church part. Our uber dropped us off in front, which was the main entrance to the church. We walked down a long hallway to get to the nave. It was a great spot for a ceremony. It was really intuitive and people from the bride's family were along the hallway guiding us to go forward. There was even the sign of the bride and groom which confirmed we were going the correct way. There was a gender neutral single bathroom in the hallway to the nave. This was my first catholic wedding ceremony and it was beautiful. There were readings and songs. My favorite part was when the priest shared some advice, guidance, and prayers for the married couple. He was very welcoming, kind, and encouraging. It was a great ceremony.

As a former employee of Seaborn Day School Early Years in Beach Park, I believe some of my insight…read moremay be helpful when deciding who to trust with your child. As respectfully as I can, I urge you to choose another facility. Here are a few examples: We were instructed to always tell the parents that their child had a good day- even if they had a terrible day. We were told that "if it was bad enough to tell them, we would have called". I did not agree with that policy, nor did I follow it. I am glad to have had a comfortable relationship with the parents of my kids in my class, so I would always tell them the truth about their child's day. There have also been some licensing concerns that have gone ignored by the directors and owner. One specific instance was during our afternoon nap, we would combine a couple of rooms. We were always over-ratio, with more kids than allowed with the amount of adults we had. When licensing pointed that out, we asked our director about it later and suggested breaking our nap into a couple rooms instead of one. Our director then told us that we wouldn't do that, instead if licensing came again, we would just "pull a few kids into the common area" before they came back to check our room. That is a clear example of the director putting her own convenience in place of the safety of the children. I have personally witnessed the director lying to parents about what we do and don't do... We did not clean our toys daily or weekly like my director informed the parents. In fact, the only time I pulled out all of my toys and thoroughly washed them was after my class had a couple Covid cases. In addition to those things, we constantly had ants crawling everywhere. On the countertops, on the high chair trays, and on the floor. We brought it to our director's attention many times, but nothing was done. My director also lied about contacting parents when she said she had. We had a student who was out for a couple days, so we asked the director about him. (We LOVED those kids like our own and we were worried!) She then told us that she would contact his parents and ask for us. Another week went by, and the child finally returned. We asked mom where they had been, since our director told us she never got an answer after reaching out "multiple times". On the contrary, the student's mom told us that she never received a call or text from our director. While my coworkers and I were always loving and compassionate, I do not think that we were able to make up for the systematic downfalls of this school. I want the best for your children, ad in my opinion, Seaborn Beach Park will not be anywhere near the best.

All the teachers but the one with the glasses and the sweet Cuban lady seem to hate their jobs. My daughter's teacher was inherently lazy; and I caught her several times SCREAMING and cussing out my two year old. When I brought up the problems to the owner, she made a ton of excuses. We had some verbal sparring over the phone; and after I made SEVERAL reports to both the health department AND Hillsborough county, she told me to leave. I had already moved my daughter, so. If you research (which I wish I had done before) there have actually been a ton of complaints filed here over the years. It's obvious the owners are only in it for the money. They don't do a lot of projects with the kids, the food is crap, and everything is incredibly old and dirty. Any time you bring up problems, you get a ton of attitude. One time, I caught a staff member spraying bleach water next to my kid, and I asked her to stop and I got yelled at for it? So I brought it up to the owner and she said it wasn't bleach. It was labeled bleach water and I know what bleach smells like! I was told that my daughter had to wear shorts under her dresses or skirts because "the little boys in the class are curious" where TF are the teachers if the little boys have time to do that? My daughter shouldn't have to change what she wears because the teachers aren't doing their jobs. In addition, I've walked in several times and the kids were by themselves and the teacher was nowhere in sight! Stay away from this place; I wish I had never subjected my daughter to it. I hope it gets shut down.

The staff is tenured, loving, and really know how to engage the kids and genuinely care about them. Any interactions with the administration team have been very professional and pleasant. I know my daughter will be very prepared for Kindergarten after VPK! She is not even in VPK yet and knows all of her letters, sounds, numbers, is writing her name and short words, and most importantly seems like she loves to learn.
